David, I was so sorry to hear about your electronic equipment. Sure hope that insurance may cover your loss. I hope the trip over the pond was good. Chipper and I used Tony Blair as our "cover" so we wouldn't shout out the answer in Trivia. Goodness knows we get excited playing Trivia!

I really enjoyed meeting you and your wife, even if it were just for a very few minutes. If you ever travel to San Diego, please look us up. We'd love to escort you and your family through Disneyland.

I'm sorry you had to see the "issues" evolving on the other thread, but I believe the best thing we can all do is simply ignore the OP. We would rather focus on our great cruise together.

We did drink some of it ;) . Everytime I ran into someone I would try to remember to tell them to come by for a glass! LOL! No one took us up on the offer....

What fun that you had cruise people on your flight home! And Karen & Ed were (are?) nice! :) I really like people that actually speak to my children and don't act like they are invisible! LOL!

I hope your ds had a good cruise -- I know he was reluctant when you changed dates.

You are so right... it would be impossible to remember everyone you met! I certainly tried but, I do know that I failed.... :sad2:
Bryan didn't seem to like the teen club so ended up spending almost the whole time with us, of course other than those "early morning hours" that occur before noon when he was sleeping ;) . He really enjoyed the dining rooms and our servers and did not want to miss a single night, even going on his own when we went to Palo. We ended up with wonderful table mates; a TA traveling with her daughter and mother. The daughter was the most enjoyable 6 year old I have ever met. We ended up on the same flight back as far as Salt Lake (they were from Idaho) and they ended up in the row right in front of us! Here we are with our servers:

Tablemates.jpg

The only thing I regretted about switching from the December cruise was the heat; we didn't spend any time shopping at the ports after the excursions because I just wanted a shower and I hardly spent any time outside on the ship. If we ever cruise again I am going to try for sometime between November and January. We did not rebook; we have done so much traveling this year that we are going to spend the next couple of years just trying to get the credit cards paid off.

Time to get busy with dinner - still trying to get stocked back up on groceries. I was really scrounging the first couple of nights back; DH's comment was "isn't this the same Hamburger Helper they have on the ship?" Very funny.....

It has been an exciting few days in our lives. We orginally got a text on Saturday saying DD was going to hospital to have DGS. I had a melt down at shutters when the message finally came through 4 hours later. IT WAS FALSE ALARM. The girls at shutters knew all about us. Our reputation preceeded us. Maria at guest service knew us very well and discussed what crazy people we were with her friends at shutters. They sent us a very "MAGICAL MONMENT" to take home with us. :wizard: We did not get home till late Sunday night. We had a almost 3 hour hold on the tarmack stuck in the plane in Orlando. We did not get home till 10:00 pm. We just looked through bills and went to bed at midnight. Got a call from DD at 4am. She was in lots of pain. I told her do not call us, call the doctor!!! DH and I decided we better start wahing dirty clothes. :laundy: My DGD was dropped off at 6:30 am.at my house and we waited. :laundy: My DSIL called at 10:30 and said hurry to hospital. She was at 8. :teeth: We got there by 11:00
am :yay: , and she said "See I told the baby to wait til mema and poppy came home. At 11:33am. my darling DGS was born. He weighed in at 8lb. and 1 0z. and was 10 days early.

I still did not finish unpacking yet. At least my laundry is done. Life is truly a miracle.
I read the other thread of a person who did not paticipate very much on this thread until after the trip. All I can say is (strictly my own opionion) what a great bunch of people they did not get to meet and become friends with.
Life is about sharing and enjoying every moment you have on this earth. Sometimes things do not go perfect but the alternative of not existing is not good either. That is all I will say on the matter. :thumbsup2

It was great to meet all of you!!!
I am so glad you young honeymooners decided to join our happy bunch of table mates. Do not forget Jill we need to swap a Stich for a Minnie!!!!! :thumbsup2
Amlee said:
Ok yall I have come home to ones worst nightmare. So I guess I'll start here asking for prayers. My best friend lives paticipate very much on this thread until after the trip. All I can say is (strictly my own opionion) what a great bunch of people they did not get to meet and become in Southern CA. I talked to him via email in Antigua for a bit and everything seemed find. I knew I hadn't got an email from him in several days, so I knew something was up.

I hope I did not miss any more news. I read the other thread really fast!!! Any news? By the way Amy it was really great to get to know you. We will keep in touch.

Amlee said:
Ian said he would love to do the Med next year, as it was port of calls he knows. I vote that Disney hooks him up!
I think he is the next Brent in the making but even crazier.

My Dad shocked us all! My Mother has tried getting me to speak my whole life! who knew all she needed to do was put me a disney cruise ship!? :teeth:

Samantha, I thought you were great. I loved spending time together. I do not think anyone will ever consider you quiet now. :rotfl2: If you could even get in a word between your mother and me, consider you out of your shell. :teeth: :teeth:

Stepht5 said:
I don't know what you are talking about.... Everyone here that spoke with my dh knows what company my dh works for and it isn't Disney. LOL!!! We do live in Texas and the last I checked there is no Disney in TX! LOL!

BTW -- several of the shirts dh wore had his company logo on them. :thumbsup2

And since the only thing we requested from any CM was the set up for the party ( we booked everything at 105days out and didn't require any other assistance)... we had very little interaction with CMs. So, I couldn't imagine that the stories would be that interesting.

Stephanie, what can I say but to know you is to love you. :lovestruc You were are great Disboard leader who kept up all the excitement  and kept us all gabbing. :rotfl2: You were very generous to set up our wine greet and everyone that attendned I KNOW WE had a great time. :yay: We will keep in touch.

poohluv2u said:
Thanks for the compliment  ... however I am not always so quiet, just ask my table mates. I can scream realllllly LOUD!

Being one of your table mates, I can really say she is NOT QUIET!!!! and can really scream LOUD :listen: I hope to talk to you this week.

HiYaPal said:
YES... I WILL CONFIRM ... Karen has a scream that will cause waves! :rotfl

Linda I gotta love you. I think I have met my match when it comes to talking. :rolleyes1 You and I can never be quiet either. Who else could have dragged me onstage to play Disney Trivia Game.

Wow, just love those pictures from the scrapbooking get-together.
PHOTOS: I would really appreciate receiving some photos from each of you. My camera died the first day on the cruise, and I'm photo-less. Anyone that would like to share a CD, I'd be glad to reimburse the cost of the CD.

Ceila, our pictures our yours . Just give us a couple of days to catch our breath. You know how you and Chris are so special to John and I. Not being prejudice, But I think our table had the most fun for dinner and we all became life long friends.

More later the computer is shuting me off now
Love and thanks to all of my new friends.

Cheryl
Had lots of smilies and would not let me post to had to redo and edit.

Hi David and Celia -

That is the absolute truth!!!!!!

I believe her goal in life is to meet everyone. ;) A friend of mine once commented *Claire has no *medium* everything is to the extreme.*
John and I enjoyed Claire performing her Lion King. I expect to see her on stage someday.

Hi everyone - we arrived home this afternoon (we actually landed in the UK yesterday morning but stayed a night in a hotel outside London). I'm hoping we are over jet-lag as I'm off to work tomorrow morning.

Thanks to everyone who made this a memorable cruise (except for the two days I was ill) and all the extra work and effort they made for everyone else. A special mention to Steph and her family for the warmth and hospitality they extended to everyone concerned - I wish I had been well enough to have attended the wine tasting!!

Helen managed to increase our luggage to eight cases, which was a struugle to fit into our car when we got to London. Alex does not stop going on about the cruise and all the friends he met in Aloft, Bethan misses her "Kids Club" and everyone she met.

Four weeks was a long time to spend on holiday and that was evident by the amount of mail waiting for me when I opened our front door.

I'm sad to see a post on a different thread from people who chose not to "join in" - what I liked about the fellow Disers is that they are there if you want them. I'm actually a very reserved person (even for a Brit) and I personally found the mixture absolutely perfect. I felt the Disers I met were lovely people with many backgrounds, views, and ideas to share - and so many like our Prime Minister, Tony Blair as well :) .

On a sad note, on Monday night we went for something to eat when Helen's bag was stolen containing my camera, lens, and our sunglasses. Due to some strange Florida law of abandonment, the police weren't interested. Helen was very upset as she thought it was her fault and that put a tinge on our whole holiday. I turned detective and found out who had the camera and where it was but the police (very rudely, might I add) still weren't interested.

Anyway, it's very late here and due to the previously mentioned storm on 17-August, when my laptop got shocked to death, I'm using Alex's computer and he needs to go to bed.

Speak to you all very soon.

David, Helen, Alex & Bethan.

David, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I think we need Scottland Yard here. Your security in your country makes ours a laughing matter. Ask Alex howmany girls will be e-mailing him? :confused3 :teeth: Please tell Helen not to be a lurker. I enjoyed talking to her so much.

Us too. We have colds as well but are VERY thankful that it didn't materialize until the flight home.

We did book while onboard for Sept 15th, 2007. Anyone else?

Funny thing but my cold started late Saturday night. :teeth: At first I thought it was allergies, but after waiting at the airport for 8 hours, my allergies turned into a cold.

Today I finally had time to look through the 15 rolls of pictures that DH took. There are some really great pictures that I am looking forward to sharing, but it will take some time to figure out which ones to put on a CD. Since we have been talking about Ian, I thought I would post one of our shots:
9-19-2006-19.jpg

He was definitely the highlight of the cruise! I loved the cruise staff. My favorite things included the Tom Wolber presentation, Susan Egan's show, and waking up in the morning to the rocking of the ship and letting myself fall back to sleep as much as I wanted. :thumbsup2 Tonight I asked Bryan what his favorite thing was, and his answer was "ice cream".

Here is one of the pictures from the scrapbooking meet:

I hope you are including us on the reunion. We booked anything in 2007 on board to get the discount. We are just waiting to see if some thing special will be released for 2008? :rolleyes1 Hawaii would be nice :rotfl:

Guess I am making up for lost time . I better shut-up and get some sleep. I work tomorrow and have to go see 3 movies for my job this weekend.

Us too!!! Actually my Mom, Stepdad, and Sister want to join us on our next cruise!!!! I love taking my sister to do new things. I told them 2008.

I would love to leave from DL and go to Hawaii!!!!! (I know dream on).

Oh and my mom thought I was crazy to meet up with people I talked to over the internet but, now she thinks is was great and was asking about our meets and fish extenders!!!

What fun for all of you!!! And it is fun seeing a child experience something new! I loved hearing you talk about your sister. Since I have older children that also love their younger siblings. Katherine was a doll and stayed onboard in St Lucia with the younger two so that the rest of us could still go on our excursions! The 2 younger ones had decided that they weren't interested in leaving the ship that day. ;)

Congrats!! I know you both are on cloud 9!!

No news, but strange news. I keep getting calling card numbers showing up on my phone and then last night I got a call from Anaheim, CA. But each time there is nothing but silence on the other in. I tried the Anaheim number and it won't let us call the number back. His parents have hired a P.I who is in the process of tracking down the number. They are also in the process of covering the town in posters and running ads in the newpaper.

I enjoyed our time with you and John. You two are a prefect match! Oh we will keep in touch!

I hope the powers that be read all the wonderful replies about Ian and know how much he goes out of his way to make each cruise so special.

Buddy and I made it home around 7 PM Sunday, and all I could think of was that our table-mates live 20 minutes from the port!!! I had work Monday at 7 AM and have spent all week trying to catch up with sleep and mountains of laundry. :laundy: :laundy: :laundy: :laundy: :laundy:

Like Wan, I too am shocked, shocked I say, that no one cooks, serves, or cleans up after me. There's a lot to be said for the sub-standard quality of the food, the lax attitude about cleanliness (when will I ever find time to vaccuum?), and the complete lack of fun activities there is in my home. Maybe I should invite Ian over for a sponge relay race!

While some were stung by jellyfish, Buddy and I were bitten by the Disney Cruise bug (I think he looks like Crik-ee) & booked the West-bound Repo cruise on the Magic next August. As I suffer from second thoughts about European pick-pockets, my lack of comfort speaking Spanish despite taking course upon course in college, the logistics of taking a mobility scooter that better not break down this time, and how to ship items to the ship in Barcelona, Buddy is excitedly adding a mini-trip to Ireland before we sail (and using all my leave time in the process). How soon a retiree forgets about the importance of saving vacation days!

It was a pleasure meeting all of you. I thought 10 days was a long time, yet I regret not finding more time to spend with the group. I'm not sure where the time went, but I will say this was the most relaxing vacation I ever took. Thanks to all for Fishy gifts, lanyards, hospitality, and fun!!! I can not express how wonderful each and every person was to us and the great memories they helped create.

Hey everyone!!!

We got home on Sunday night and I have been cleaning :laundy: , unpacking, celebrating my dhs 30th birthday :bday: and getting Juliette back into a school routine.

We were very lucky to run into familiar faces all over the ship thanks to this thread. With Juliette and Shelby we were busy from morning till night. (but I love it that way!!!)

I wish we could have met everyone from the boards! A very special thanks to everyone who exchanged the fishy extender gifts! Juliette loved running to the door and checking to see what was new in the extender. (so did we!! )

Celia: once again a true pleasure speaking with you! We would love to meet you at DL anytime. We want to go for the new Halloween decorations at DL. We are going to the DCL Halloween event on the 27th. Hope to see you real soon!

Sandy and family: great to see you all onboard and it was neat to be neighbors for 10 days! Seeing all the magnets on the doors going down the hallway was helpful for Steve since he got turned around all the time.. :rotfl: :teleport: Goodluck with the grandbaby!

Stacey, Tracy and family: what a great looking family you have! Enjoy that holiday cruise next year with all your boys! Its' sure to be a blast! I can't wait to see your video of this cruise!!! (no pressure) LOL

Crystal: what a pleasure it was having breakfast with you. What wonderful sons you have. Hope your future cruises go well.

David, Helen and Family: Juliette loved little Bethan. She is quite a beauty! Thanks so much for saving the cruise for me by sharing your delicious British tea! That was very generous. I am still enjoying it now!! :coffee: I hate when I forget to bring my own tea. LOL Hope you had a great rest of your trip. Sorry to hear about your camera!!! Did you already get your photos off of the camera or were they all stolen too? I have some of Juliette and Bethan I can email you.

I am sure I am missing people that we chatted with....so I will say to everyone else thanks for taking the time to chat with my family and share your fishy gifts! It was greatly appreciated. :wave2:

We rebooked to go on the Med repo next year! So we will be bringing the Magic back again!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Hi Kirsty -
I am so glad that you finally got Juliette to snorkel that day! Otherwise she would have missed out on that part of the adventure, just like us! DH and I are the only ones who didn't snorkel on the excursion, so we only saw what you saw by watching your video...we are just big chickens. :rotfl2:

But the Bones was still fun for us.

How did you ever learn to put that presentation together? I especially love all of the Disney music in the background. Was the opening music from the video they show on the bus?

I hope we can cruise together sometime soon.

The music was from one of Juliette's Disney cds. The rest of the music was just diffrent songs I have on my computer. I have never been on the Disney Bus so I am not sure what they play on there?

Juliette has snorkeled all over the place since she was 4, so we were so frustrated with her that day. We had just been to Maui where she snorkeled at Molokini which is over 100ft deep. So we could not figure out what was going on with her. She was very tired on this cruise. Not enough sea days I guess. LOL

Hope to travel with you guys again soo too!
Kirsty

I recgonize some of you from your pictures now that I didn't realize before. diznylnd and GoofyGuy777 I was behind you in line at Castaway Cay for Jack Sparrow pictures! I knew I recgonized the name Shelby...

DH was hit with the cold on Wednesday after we got home. I really think it is from the airport. I mean all of a sudden we had to eat witout using an antibacterial wipe first! The germs probably had a party. :rotfl2: I do want stock in that wipe company! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Make sure to check out some really great cruise reports by Ricka47, Amlee, Diznylnd, and HiYaPal. :thumbsup2 Has it only been a week? :confused3 When I ask for a shrimp coctail, no one brings one. :rotfl:
