9/7/02 Fellow Cruisers

Looking for people who will be cruising with us. Our group is me (33) DH (42) DS (8) and DD (4). We had originally booked the 8/31 cruise but changed the date to 9/7. Glad we did. We saved a bundle!!! What a difference! I was shocked when then the TA quoted me the price ( I kept asking to make sure she had everybody on the reservation). Anyway, we are excited and looking for others.

I just read a post about travelers worried about being out of the country over the 9/11 anniversary this year. I just wondered if any of the fellow cruisers have thoughts on this. Personally, I am not worried (ok maybe just a bit) but my whole family will be together on this cruise and that brings me comfort. Anyone else worried?

It did cross my mind, but I am not worried either. I didn't even put it together that we would be traveling on that date until after we booked. Hopefully it will be all smooth sailing!!!

Actually, I had two thoughts on this.

#1 - We will not be in the country over this anniversary, so therefore, we will not be in an area that has a huge potential risk as a target.

#2 - We are onboard a high profile cruise ship, owned and operated by a company that is a huge symbol of America, and are therefore a possible target.

Either way, I'm not too worried about it. Security seems to be rather tight lately, and the renewed efforts by our federal law enforcement agencies at locating and identifying terrorists have been very good (trust me, I work closely with many of those agencies).

Lastly, if I cancelled my cruise, or changed my itenarary because of fear, the terrorists have accomplished their goal.

It will be myself, my god-daughters ages 3 1/2yrs and 8 yrs, and their mother --- our much anticipated "girl's only" vacation.

Been planning this one since the day we got back almost 3 years ago! We booked rather late and there seem to be a bunch of Cat 4 still available but the 6-10s are mostly gone.

My husband and I will also be onboard 9/7/02 with our 2 little girls ( 4 & 2). Just look for the dinner table with 2 kids underneath!

Excellent! I was beginning to believe that the boat would be almost empty!

Looking forward to seeing everyone. Has anyone who booked airfare through Disney got their cruise docs yet? Were anxiously waiting!!!!

We booked thru a TA, not Disney but still haven't received our docs either - booked late though (7/30) so I'm not "too" concerned yet!

I am also taking my parents with us, must have that babysitter just in case. Thank goodness for connecting rooms.

We'll be sailing but on Carnival Pride, I'm not worried about it being over 9/11 right now it doesn't look like the boat will be very crowded!!

I told myself I wouldn't start packing until we broke the 30 day mark. Today I will brave the Texas heat and get the suitcases together. Anyone else anxious to pack?
