we're going to make a point of hitting ALL the trick or treat stands to get loads of candy!!

btw: i've got this amazing knack of finding ways to justify things, i've figured out that staying at SSR will save us about $60, last time we went we ended up doing about a dozen loads of laundry, at ASM that'll cost at least $5 a load to wash and dry, at SSR its free!! see how i've justified upgrading!! (forget the fact that i need to spend £180 to upgrade, i'm saving $60!!) :rotfl:

:rotfl: I did the same thing when I upgraded to Wilderness Lodge. I was like 'I'm saving so much money on free dining, I'll just upgrade our hotel instead!' No thought to what the actual cost of upgrading was!

Hi  Wow has it been a busy day for me here at work today...it's the first time since I've been able to hop on the DisBoards today! I usually try to sneak on a couple of times a day, but today was an unusually busy day...so here I am at 4:45 pm Central Time...with a little less than hour of work to go!

I am proud to say that my enthusiasm for Disney World has rubbed off on some of my co-workers in the building I work at. I am handing out Disney tips left and right to people in the elevator, the security guard, and even the FedEx man. :rotfl: It is hard to believe that so many people would pay so much money to go and not even pick up a book or do any research to find out what they are getting themselves in to! Dave, the building security guard is such a sweetheart, he and his family live about five blocks from me, and they went to Disney last year. I found out in talking to him, that they missed so many of the great things to see and do! I was shocked to find out he thought the Tree of Life was just a tree! He had no clue about the beautiful carvings and “It’s Tough To Be A Bug”! I know…hard to believe, isn’t it? So I gave him all of my park maps (yes, I carry copies with me in my purse all the time…you never know when you may need one!) and I sent him the link to the DisBoards. Funny, I am more proud of helping somebody with their upcoming vacation, than I am with just about anything that get to do, here at work! LOL.

All that matters is that you are saving :lmao::lmao:
I finally got my FE gift straightened out :cool1::cool1: and now i have an extra template i can use to make a magnet for our door( i saved a pic of a DCL castmember name badge but i didn't use it on the transfer)
Greg thinks the transfer looks good now he wants to see what they look like put together. We are gonna have the stateroom numbers for everyone before the trip right? The goodie bags i am doing i am gonna put the stateroom number on and the people in the cabin's names on them (i CAN'T STOP!! I NEED HELP!!)

LOL Donna, I know just what you mean. I work in a TA and I get this question all the time: "Is that resort within walking distance of all the parks?" People have no idea. It really is another world. I try to keep a dumbfounded look off my face of 'How do you not know this?' It's tough to remember people don't know it as well as us DISers do!

My co-worker went to AK and didn't do anything because he didn't realize there were rides there! He didn't even go on Kilamanjaro Safari! :confused3 We should be Disney tour guides!!!

I would so love to be a Disney Tour Guide! In fact I would love to work in any department of the Disney Company. When I went to my Disney Keys to Excellence program last week and the speaker was talking about the kind of people that Disney hires, I wanted to jump up and say "that's me!" Some day I WILL work for Disney!

Donna, I'm with you!! I WILL work for Disney one day!! When I was at my Conference last year, I sat next to some people that work for Disney. There are not a lot of people with Unclaimed Property experience, so I was like, if you need a person, call me up!! Crossing my fingers, I love my job, and I love Disney...so I would SUPER love doing Unclaimed Property for Disney!! :lmao:

WooHoo, i'm working from home tomorrow, so I don't have to drive in!! Yea!! I have to go to the eye doctor to get my prescription renewed, I have only 3 pairs of contacts left -- and they are dailies, so that is not good!! I shouldn't have waited so long to go. :3dglasses

I went out after work with my old department tonight, it was nice to see them all!! My old supervisor took a buyout plan that they offered earlier this year, and tomorrow is her last day. It was fun because part of the reason I left that department was that I couldn't stand the new Director...and everyone thought I was crazy. Well now, they all hate him too, so it was fun to rip on him, yea!! HAHA :rolleyes1

i'd looooove to work for disney but doubt it'll ever happen as i've got the added hurdle of not living in the right country!! i cant even go for the disney store either as my closest one is about 45 minutes drive away. :(
unfortunately none of my co-workers particularly like disney so i cant gossip about new disney stuff. one of the girls from the radio station we own loves it though so we sometimes talk about all things disney. its a good distraction from work!
when people over here ask how big it all is, i tell them disney is the same size as greater manchester, that normally makes their chin drop to the floor!! :rotfl:
lainey, i'll sort out a list of room numbers at least a week before we go (depends on when we set the cut off date for joining in), and i'll email/PM it to everyone. if i've got the time, i'll do maps like i did last year, it made it a lot easier to find the cabins that way.
also every time someone new joins, i'll post an updated list of FE people, so we can all keep track

I would love to work for Disney someday too, especially as part of the Walt Disney Travel Co. 90% of those people are amazing but I've gotten a couple who seem to have absolutely no idea what they're doing/talking about. I was trying to make an ADR for a client and the CM had never heard of the restaurant; and yet another argued with me that Pop Century did not have King rooms when they do. :confused3 I could do their job, give me a chance Disney!!

Just for the record Karen, my cabin number is 7567.

thanks, i'm at work at the mo but i'll definately add it to the list when i get back :)

hows everyones day going? i'm a bit bored but just plodding through, havent managed to get a huge amount done today but the bit i have done has seemed to take ages!
i'm looking forward to a day off on monday, need a lie in!

My day is off to a slow start. Usually I have a few emails to keep me occupied on stuff to work on for the morning, but I had none today. No clients have come in. No phone calls. I'm probably jinxing myself.

lol, probably!
well i had to go on the early lunch today which has really thrown me off. i'm used to only having 2 hours left after lunch, not 4, i'm trying to get my head back into doing some work but i cant be bothered ;)

Leave it til the time you'd normally come back from lunch. ;) That's how my day is broken up: do morning work, DIS, go to lunch, do afternoon work, DIS til it's time to leave. :rotfl: If they ever caught on to this site and blocked it, I'd be crushed...but I can also say it's research since I sometimes use it for that. When clients ask about Disney hotels that I've never been to, this is the first place I come for feedback.

lol, i cant really use that as an excuse, if i got caught i'd be seriously told off. but oh well, what they dont know.... :rotfl:

lol, what've you made?
luckily i got mothers day over with, its march over here :)

It's May 10th here. I found a tote on Oriental Trading that can be personalized and has inserts for photos. I ordered that and had Grandma Patricia's (that's what my nephew calls her) Family put on it and went through tons of photos on snapfish and ordered prints to put in the inserts. Hopefully it comes in before Mother's Day but if not, that's ok.
