I just made an appointment to get my passport done! You can't get anymore last minute than me!

gary just got his renewed because the laminate on the back page was starting to peel and technically it can be denied because of that. thought it was better to be safe than sorry!
how long does it generally take over there? it never used to take that long over here but they've just changed the rules. if you're applying for a first passport nowadays, everyone HAS to go for an interview at the passport office. no exceptions. i'm so glad i've always had my own passport and that i dont have to do that!!

I kept meaning to make an appointment and didn't have the time or funds to do it.

It says it takes 4-6 weeks but people have been getting them back in about 3-4. I don't absolute need it to get on the ship but it's better off that I have one in the long run.

You have to go for an interview??? I have to go to an 'agency' which is technically a post office and fill out a form.

when you get them renewed over here you need to get the form from the post office, fill it in, send your old one in with the form and 2 photos.
they've now changed the rules that EVERYONE applying for a new passport has to go for an interview. even newborn babies need their own passport now. how the hell do you get a newborn to take a passport photo?

My nephew had to get a passport when he went to Aruba. I think he was just over a year old. I couldn't even believe that but a newborn??? They're going way overboard with passports. You need one to get into Canada now, even if you're driving.

FEs (Fish Extenders) are just little gifts you give to the other cabins on the list. Some people give one per person, some people give one per cabin, some one per day, some once per cruise...it's really up to you!! You hang up a "Fish Extender" over the fish in your hallway (i'm sure someone here has a link to a better thread...), and then people put gifts in yours, too!! It's all just for fun, and nobody is obligated to partcipate, obviously!! My Husband thought I was kind of nuts for the whole thing, but he will like getting stuff each day!!

They sound like alot of fun, but what if they get taken if they are hung outside?

We ordered a 5 day basic ticket/1 park per day. Here's another * question. If we are there only 4 days, can we use the 5th as a hopper to visit a different park a 2nd time? Does that make sense?

Bob and I woke up this morning at 2:30 am to barking. We walked outside our bedroom and Harley was laying on his side crying and barking. We tried sitting with him, petting him, giving him fresh water and his favorite food...which he did end up devouring, but the barking just wouldn't stop. Around 6:00 am Bob and I sat down and talked about it being time to have "the talk" about Harley. Bob was heartbroken but agreed to talk about the possibility of putting Harley down.

I got a call today at noon from Bob's son Allen telling me that he and Jose (Bob's son-in-law) had gotten Harley out of the house, and had given him a bath in the yard. Harley was laying on his side in the grass watching the squirrels and barking. Around 1:00 Bob called and told me to call the Vet and make the appointment because there was something wrong because Harley just doesn't bark like that. I made all of the arrangements for an exam and the possibility of putting him to sleep, then cremating him.

3:00 rolls around and I get a call from Jose that Harley had passed away in the yard. Naturally everyone was devastated, but no one more than Bob. Harley, although technically Allen's dog really had claimed Bob as his "person". so Bob is beside himself and has been crying all night.

I know exactly how Bob feels because I lost my dog Skittles three years ago, at age 18...we were watching TV together on the couch and I was cuddling her and she just passed away in my arms...she had never really been sick. I was beside myself, much like Bob is now. I know it is hard, but I am trying to convince him that Harley had a good day outside today, and he was probably ready to go and at peace....still, it is very hard for everyone in the house. Harley was really a 109 pound baby, and he will be greatly missed...especially by Lilo, who already can't figure our where her big brother went.

cristina, you can't use 2 days on a 5 day ticket to park hop. i think they keep track somehow, but it definately doesnt allow you to park hop unless you purchase that option. disney sure do know how to squeeze more money out of people dont they?!

Thank you Karen. We are all very sad, but this morning even Bob was saying that Harley had been having such a hard time getting around because of his bad hips that is was really not fair to him. Even though Harley was such a large dog I think he saw himself more like a small dog because he always tried to do and go places that Skittles (when she was alive) and Lilo would go. It was rather comical trying to see him go under the bed after Lilo or try to sneak on the bed to sleep with us....LOL when he stretched out he took up over half the bed!

It will take time, but I am sure we will get to the point where we can sit around and tell "Harley Stories" and laugh and not cry.

Donna, i'm sorry to hear about Harley

Christina, I think that having your FE stolen is a very small risk...you don't read about it happening often. One tip is that people bring along cable ties and secure the FE to the fish with that...hopefully, that will deter people from stealing it...since they would need scissors!! LOL.

I have tons of studying to do today!! I'm going back to sleep for an hour, then it's all studying, all day. I was up really late last night, but I had to get up to harvest my Grapes, LOL!!

i'm glad i'm not the only one who wakes up and thinks that i've got crops that i need to harvest on farm town!!

just checked my cruise reservation online and yay for 50 days til we set sail!!



for all of us that are on GTY rooms, there's a few threads on the cruise forum about september rooms being assigned. the september 3rd and 10th cruises seem to be getting assigned as we speak so with any luck we'll have a room assignment within the next 2 weeks!!

cristina, i worried about the FE getting stolen too, but then i thought the chance of that happening was so slim and the fun of getting our gifts outweighed that, so we joined in on our last cruise, and never looked back!!
as mary said you could use a cable tie to attach it to the fish if you want. are you wanting to join in? i can send you the updated list if you want so you know who you need to get gifts for?

Lainey sent me a message this morning saying my grapes were ready to harvest and that they go bad really fast. I just started playing and all my crops are going to spoil when I'm not at my sister's anymore! My work computer blocks regular facebook and the computer at home is too slow. Since I'm house sitting I'm using my sister's comp; I'm planning on getting a new comp before the trip so I'll fix my farm then. You guys are right, it is addicting.

I've been playing Sims games too online. I can't wait to get Sims 3! I was addicted to the first two.

i loved sims 1, never really got into sims 2 because the computer i had at the time wasnt good enough to run it.
i do like the look of sims 3 though.

That's part of the reason why I want a new computer. So I can play Sims 3! There's a couple of mini-games to play on the Sims website. Keeping me enteretained until I can get the real thing.

I left work early and took half a sick day. My sinuses are blocked. I don't know if I have a cold or if it's because of my sister's apartment. She's a smoker so the apartment reeks of cigarettes. Yuck.
