lainey, i hear (from your mum's facebook status) that you had a great bridal shower, cant wait to hear all about it!!

Hi All
Sorry not been on in a long time. justwant to say hi before the holiday and say get the beer ready!!!

Have a good weekend

Gary(karens hubby)

Yeah i had a great shower all of my gifts filled up my soon to be Mother in laws explorer and the food was GREAT!!!I will post pictures when i get a day off so i should be able to post them 2morrow. With the FE gifts i am so busy with the wedding and planning and the house I wouldnt be able to get any other things for anyone who joins between now and the cruise i am so busy i have almost no time to do anything except go to meetings with the vendors for the wedding and work. Im not as stressed since my mom is finally home she didnt get to go to the shower so we video taped it for her so that she could see me.
I of course (since there were older ladies there) got ALOT of things that were not on my registry like oh a 3 piece kitchen set (coffee maker, toaster, and iron) in BRIGHT ORANGE!! w/o a reciept so it is mine!!! I like the iron but the other two are a no go Greg laughed his butt off when he saw it. But one of the ladies made me a quilt it is so sweet.
Greg and i bought a washer and dryer i never thought i would be this happy about an appliance :rotfl: we also got the florring for the spare bedroom, ceiling fan for our room, and the lighting fixture for the dining room so we have alot of projects to get done before the wedding.

The beer will be ready, Gary!

Lainey, can't wait to hear about the bridal shower either!

It's so gloomy out today. It's supposed to rain all day and this morning it was thundering. Of course yesterday was beautiful...and I had to work! :sad2: I hope everyday in Florida/Bahamas is sunny and gorgeous out to make up for the rainy summer were having here in NJ!

I'm into the 40s! 49 days to go!

It's like you read my mind, Lainey! :)

I'm glad you had a great time and it sounds like you cleaned up! What's wrong with bright orange? You could have a Brady Bunch kitchen. :rotfl: The house I lived in during middle school had a kitchen like that. Everything was dark brown wood and orange countertops. :scared:

Sounds like you've been busy, busy, busy. Time will pass quickly and the wedding and honeymoon will be here before you know it and no more stress! Next month!!!!!

Completely off topic but why is the scared smiley not on the side bar anymore? He's one of my favorites!

yay!! 41 here!!

i sorted out the garage earlier, gary bought an elliptical cross trainer a couple of months ago from ebay, he paid about $80 for a machine that costs about $7500 new! its in good condition but its been wedged in the garage up til now. i've cleaned it all out so i can actually start using it, i'm going back on the diet tomorrow :(

I love elliptical machines! I get bored on bikes or treadmills. I've always wanted to buy one but they're a lot of $.

Don't think of it as a diet. Think of it as getting into 'disney-shape'. :)

lol, yeah we're both thinking of it as "lose the weight that we're going to put on while we're on free dining" :) lol
gary took the cross trainer apart a minute ago (he's a gym equipment service tech) to charge the battery and found that the bearings have fallen apart so i can't use it for a couple of days til he can get some new bearings. i was kinda gearing myself up for starting the diet and exercise so its a bit of a bummer.
i just get bored with gyms after a while, and i refuse to sign up for a 12 month contract because i know the novelty wears off after 3/4 months and i end up having to pay for the rest of the year when i dont go.... not sure how much gyms are over there but they're about $65-70 a month over here. its getting so overpriced. even the council run places are really expensive too. when i do go the gym, i normally stick to the cross trainers, i dont do treadmills because they start my asthma off and they tend to hurt my ankles, so i stick to the cross trainers. that and the classes, i love body pump classes. but the cross trainer in the garage is the next best option at the mo. and we've got a tv (and i'm going to connect a dvd player too) in there so at least i can watch something decent while i'm in there. thats my problem, i get bored too easily at gyms :) i'm very easily put off exercise!!

lainey, dont worry if you cant do any more FE gifts, we can let any new joiners know that they might not get all the gifts, we could make the cut off sooner if you all want to? i'll just go with the flow!

we're staying at the AKL pre cruise, we stayed there last year and loved it so really looking forward to getting back there!!
i hope you do make it on the cruise too! have you thought about the DCL transfers for the way back? we're hiring a car wednesday and dropping it back off on the sunday when we get back off the cruise. the 4 day car hire plus the parking fee came to the same price as the DCL transfers, and it means we can leave some of the luggage in the car while we're on the ship.

We're also considering leaving a rental car at the cruise terminal. I just ordered our WDW 5 day tickets (not hopper), since we're only 3 days post cruise, we may try to squeeze in one disney park on the day the ship leaves. We arrive at MCO at 6am. How far is the port from DW and which park does anyone recommend seeing on a short day? The Studios? How late can we check in at the port? :confused3

We're saving Epcot, AK and MK for 3 full days.

i think last year it took us about an hour and a quarter at the most to get from AKL to the port. we were at the port by 9.15 but had to wait til 10 before the gates opened.
i've just checked the park hours and all 4 parks open at 9am on the thursday that we sail. if you arrive at 6am at MCO you should be able to get to rope drop at any park no prob. if you're at WDW for 3 days post cruise, on the thursday i'd personally chose whichever park you plan to spend the least amount of time at. that way, after the cruise you dont have to waste time revisiting a park that you went to a few days ago.

btw portsofcall, you havent told us your name!!

I'm the same way with gyms. I had a membership for awhile but I only went a few times. I'd get into it for a month or two and then it would wear off. There's no sense in paying for it if you aren't going to use it. The prices for gyms vary around here, anywhere from $30-$70 a month. I was paying around $30 and not going. That's $300+ for a year so it was a big waste of money!

at one point i was paying £37 a month ($55 a month) and managed to get a minimum 3 month comtract so i could cancel once the novelty wears off, but now they all want a minimum 12 month contract.
so i will stick with the cross trainer once gary gets the new bearings for it.

i've gotta take cerby to the vets tomorrow, he had a droopy right eye yesterday and today its been all gunky and bleugh. think he's got an eye infection or something. poor pup, he looks really sad at the mo, he's got a weepy droopy eye....

I'm Cristina :rotfl:

Poor Cerby!! I hope he gets better!! Minnie was digging in the dirt at my MIL's this weekend, and she got a ton of dirt in her ears. She kept shaking her head, so we looked in there and were like...:scared1:!! LOL. I had to clean them out with a q-tip (gently, of course, and only as far as I could see!!). It seems to be better now, but it was gross!!

So, Tim's relatives were INSANE. The kids were kind of nuts, and their parents didn't pay too much attention to them, they seem like they will be the type to just let their kids do whatever. We were all glad when they left on Saturday!!

So, now I am telling Tim that since he went over the budget for his Motorcycle, we are going on the Trans-Atlantic cruise in April, LOL!! He says we will have to wait and see how we like cruising, and then maybe...so I hope he likes it!! :cutie:

Ok, next question:

Does anyone know if there are lockers inside Atlantis? I'm worried about my camera gear, but do want to take pics of the whole place. Any suggestions? Maybe just a point and shoot for this port? :3dglasses

BTW, we have 2 sons who just finished Basic Training, so there will only be 3 of us on this trip. No Teenagers :dance3: Our new puppy makes up for their mess though :headache:

hi Cristina! its nice to put a name to the username! :rotfl:
you could try emailing/calling atlantis, i've never been before so couldn't tell you, sorry!

mary, jealous that you might be going on the TA cruise!! i'd love to go on one of the repos but no way i could justify the cost, they're astronomical!!

cristina, i've just done a google search, and apparently there are lockers at atlantis.
(shamelessly stolen from another website:)
The first thing you are likely to want to do is claim a locker. They are located in the hospitality center out near the Aquaventure between Cove Beach and Atlantis Beach. There are other hospitality changing centers located in Royal Towers and in the SeaGrapes Tunnel by Beach Towers.

Lockers are not free, expect to pay $5 - $10 depending on locker size.

Good Morning Everyone! Vacation is 50 days away for us and Bob is already talking about the possibility of paying for an upgrade at port and doing another cruise if we like this one. He is suddenly all excited about the 12-Night Northern European Capital Cities cruise or the 7 Day Western Caribbean cruise. Having his first Passport is empowering him, :lmao:

BTW, did we add one more cabin to the FE or is it two? I originally only made 8 bags....so now I need to go out and buy a few more things and just wanted to know where we are at now.

I have been reading some trip reports and the Martini and Tequila Tastings are really appealing to me...is anyone thinking of doing those?

Martini tastings?? I didn't even know they had those on board. You got me thinking about it! :rotfl:

i've heard of the martini/beer/tequila tastings before, not sure on the exact cost but there is a charge for them :(
on nassau day last year me and gary went to the chip-it golf in the main atrium, it was good fun actually, although i did think it was a bit risky encouraging people to hit golf balls (they were the plastic air-type balls though) in an enclosed space underneath a HUGE very expensive glass chandelier........

gotta take cerby to the vets in a bit, poor puppy
