Can anyone give me some info on what hotel in Vancouver we should stay at that is closest to the port and what airlines seems to be the best from Orlando, Fl. So much easier when we cruise out from our home town.:confused3

Non-stop from Orlando to Seattle and very reasonable...get an Alaska Airlines VIsa and get a companion fare immediately.....fares to Canada are more and I donot know if they are non-stop....but I would start with Alaska Air ..they are the best maybe not as cheap as SWA.

Thank you I will start with that.

Assuming the ship leaves from Canada Place, there are a lot of pricey hotels in downtown Vancouver. We have stayed at the Westin Bayshore twice, and most recently at the Hampton Inn. The most convenient hotel is the Pan Pacific - which is inside Canada Place. It is one of the more expensive hotels in Vancouver, but Disney cruisers ought to be used to paying top dollar! :lmao:

Yes we like to pay for quality, thanks for the info, Pan Pacific sounds perfect
:)

Does anyone know if DCL will be offering a airfare/hotel package for the Alaska Cruise that we can add on to our May 31, 2011 booking?

I seriously don't think it is a glitch. We faxed in a request to move a "dummy" reservation to the PC at 2:00 p.m. At 2:30 p.m. the PC cruise was showing up in my previous cruise section and is still there. It replaced our most recent 7 night cruise and not our 4 night or the first 7 night (perhaps because I requested the same room number as the most recent cruise?). I am going to hold out hope that we get a confirmation so I don't have to scramble on Monday morning.

I seriously think it IS a glitch. I faxed in no reservation request at all. My last 4 night cruise in Dec 2007 shows up as a 15 day PC cruise in my CC history at the moment.

My guess is yes. However, I have been able to find better airfare myself than what Disney quotes. I saved over a thousand dollars for our family on the Med trip by booking air myself. Just make sure you compare their quote with what you can do on your own - unless of course money is no object. In that case, please pass some my way!! ;)

Ok I will try on our own and compare to what they have, sometimes its just easier to go with what they have, but if its a huge difference in price than I will surely do my own booking. Thanks for tips!:cool1:

Thanks for that!!! I was debating between a 4b and 5c & 11b, and that price difference doesn't make it enough for me to do it. My kids will be 13 and 10, and that 350 extra is worth it for me to know that they come back to bed!!!!

Ok, I finally called to transfer reservations we had booked onboard - I figured I'd wait until the initial rush was over :)

Cat. 5C - 1A2K (12, 6) - 4454.70

Cat. 11A - 1A - 1628.69
Cat. 11B - 1A2K (12, 6) - 2861.07

How do you recommend getting from Seattle to Vancouver? Are one way car rentals common between the US and Canada?

Budget will not allow maybe other companies would ..I have seen mention of a train. If you put a group together and got a minivan perhaps it would be worth paying for parking for a week? Especially if you were going to stay and visit Seattle for a few days after..
here is a cut and paste from Trip Advisor

Destination Expert What's this?
for Seattle, Copper Canyon

I'm in the tour business and work in Canada in the summer. With your schedule taking Amtrak makes a great route. The fare is a;round $32 and will take you up the coast to downtown Vancouver ariving around 11:45 am. The docks in Vancouver is about a $10 or less cab fare from the Vancouver train station. As the train originates in Seattle it is seldom late leaving but you still have a good hedge timewise even if its a little late arriving in Vancouver. Call 1-800-usa rail. The train also avoids delays at the border since the customs people go on board.

another cut and paste
I went to the Hertz website and put in a date for July it is about $120 for a one day rental picking up in downtown Seattle and returning to Vancouver.

Hey all! I will work on updating the posts from today in the morning. I ended up working extra hours today and had an interesting evening at the stables with DD's lesson so I am a bit frazzled.

***For Alaska cruises.***

I see some people have quotes that include transfers. Are the transfers only from Vancouver airport or does it include other airports?

Seattle or Bellingham airport would be nice;)

I thought that I had the info in the first post.

If staying at a precruise hotel through DCL $69pp airport to hotel to ship to airport.
If flying in day of cruise $49pp airport to hotel to airport.
