On Monday (Sep 21), had TA book Alaska for July 26, 2011
C05A 4A $8092.52 [no xfrs / no ins / includes taxes fees]

On Tuesday (Sep 22), changed booking (same date)
C05B 2A $4865.26 [no xfrs / no ins / includes taxes fees / includes 10% from OBB]
C11A 2A $2869.26 [no xfrs / no ins / includes taxes fees]

From 4 adults in one room to DH and DW having the Verandah and two DS in the Inside Stateroom.
Saved $358 and gained an extra bathroom and more real estate.

:woohoo:  :woohoo:  :woohoo:  :woohoo:

Thanks for that!!! I was debating between a 4b and 5c & 11b, and that price difference doesn't make it enough for me to do it. My kids will be 13 and 10, and that 350 extra is worth it for me to know that they come back to bed!!!!

jel0511 you might want to look at the quote again since they original booking was for a cat. 5A not a cat. 4B like you are looking to book. The price difference you will find will be more than was quoted in the other post.

Ok, I finally called to transfer reservations we had booked onboard - I figured I'd wait until the initial rush was over :)

2/19/11 - Magic 7 night Western, no transfers, no insurance:

Cat. 5C - 1A - 2904.44
Cat. 5C - 1A2K (12, 6) - 4454.70
Cat. 5C - 1A1K (9) - 3527.38

Cat. 11A - 1A - 1628.69
Cat. 11B - 1A2K (12, 6) - 2861.07

Cat. T - 2A - 9845.38
Cat. T - 2A3K (12, 9, 6) - 13,603.45

For a plain vanilla 7-night Western in February? Wow. :scared1:

Hey all! I will work on updating the posts from today in the morning. I ended up working extra hours today and had an interesting evening at the stables with DD's lesson so I am a bit frazzled.

Hey Lisa, interesting as in?
I had an interesting ride on my nag on sunday, as in sore butt interesting, hope she is ok.

Hi All

I would be very grateful if someone would post the price for a Category 10Stateroom 2A/2C (14 & 16) on the Eastern Caribbean Cruise May 7 2011.

Also, If I am not pushing it too much, 2 X Cat. 11c, with 2 passengers in each stateroom on the same cruise. I am trying to check out the least expensive and parent friendly way to cruise with Disney.

I am Silver CC and would like an indication of costs to mull over on the weekend.

Thank you to everyone who has posted with fares and suggestions. It is very interesting reading.

If you have booked a cruise with a half price deposit and transfer it to a cruise that is not offering the half price deposit YES you will be entitled to the same half price deposit on the transferred booking.

Lisa this is keeping in lines with you not getting the half price deposit since your cruise that was transferred did not offer it.

People have been told that if they did not make their deposit payment by 9/23 the 50% deposit offer would no longer be valid and they would owe $600 pp for the Alaskan cruise. No post yet from anyone who had this happen to them but it makes me think that if true, even if you have a ressie with a 50% discount on it you will not be able to have it stay on your transferred ressie. If we don't hear about it happening in the next couple days we sure will on Monday.

This is NOT true -- unless you are transferring an onboard reservation for this one! Disney confirmed it on Monday and again today when I called. There is NO OBC with a NEW booking for any CC member. My TA said the same thing. The OBCs are ONLY for those who are transferring a previous onboard booking.

Now your TA may be offering an OBC, but not Disney (unless previously booked). Our's is giving us $250 OBC for verandah room!

No one has said that you get an OBC for a new reservation. Everyone who has posted that they received the increased OBC transferred an onboard booking. Before we got the complete new breakdown of the OBCs for OBBs we were posting what were told by CMs that our OBC would be after transferring the ressie. The first post has had that chart information since either late Monday or early Tuesday.

I'm guessing that's a President's Week cruise, meaning tons of school vacations that week. So it's not really a plain vanilla 7-night Western. Is that right?

I seriously think it IS a glitch. I faxed in no reservation request at all. My last 4 night cruise in Dec 2007 shows up as a 15 day PC cruise in my CC history at the moment.

Did any of you with this problem remember requesting to be put on a waitlist way back when? That's how we ended up with a reservation for the WB in January 2011. It showed up on my CC page and I immediately contacted my TA because I thought they were going to charge me deposits. But she said that was from my waitlist request they submitted last year for the Wonder's Repo (which I forgot about) and that it would drop off automatically by the end of the week.

Lisa, I have a OBB that has the 50% off deposit offer attached to it. My TA confirmed yesterday, that I'll have to pay the full 600 pp deposit on Monday.

When I finally caught up reading the thread, I saw it mentioned several times that gold and platinum were getting OBC. I didn't see it on the first page, but just didn't want people to get their hopes up. We didn't qualify because we weren't transferring a reservation. Thanks, Lisa.

It may be President's week but it's still the same 'ole same 'ole.

Nope, no wait list for me.

My guess is yes. However, I have been able to find better airfare myself than what Disney quotes. I saved over a thousand dollars for our family on the Med trip by booking air myself. Just make sure you compare their quote with what you can do on your own - unless of course money is no object. In that case, please pass some my way!! ;)

Jodie

We only booked air with Disney ONCE -- our first cruise in 2000 (before I became an "expert" on airfare research :lmao:). Anyway, I found out later it was almost double what I could have gotten on my own. I just keep searching and use kayak.com and other airfare sites. Prices fluctuate, but I've always thought you can do better than what Disney will give you (plus they won't guaranty direct flights). ;)

RE: the 50% deposit thing. The CM I was talking to said as far as she was concerned that would be over starting tomorrow. ....... the official answer is that "we won't know until Monday until the system computes it based on your individual reservation". :lmao: So oh GOODY!! :rotfl2: Nobody knows!

Monday will still be telephone booking only. Nothing online yet she said. However I'm not sure if she was any more informed than the bus drivers at WDW.:upsidedow

:sad2: The good news is that this is the first CM I have read who has said that no online bookings on 9/28. The two I have talked to both said that they hoped it would be better on Monday because there WILL be the online booking.

Has anyone booked using their DVC points for the cruise yet? WIth prices this insanely high (3x Princess it seems), I would like to burn through my points rather than spend the $$$.

Katherine

There are a few DVC point quotes given for the PC & Alaskan cruises.

.... which is inside Canada Place. It is one of the more expensive hotels in Vancouver, but Disney cruisers ought to be used to paying top dollar! :lmao:

BUT there won't be much of anything left at that point [with money budgeted for excursions & such]. ;)

Does anyone know if DCL will be offering a airfare/hotel package for the Alaska Cruise that we can add on to our May 31, 2011 booking?

They should since the CM who quoted the transfers to me gave two prices, one for just flying in and one for the prestay at the hotel. There are three hotels that will be used listed in the first post.

Hey Lisa, interesting as in?
I had an interesting ride on my nag on sunday, as in sore butt interesting, hope she is ok.

Well, the stable bought three new horses yesterday. One was hitched to the post next to where DD was tacking her horse for the lesson. I was helping her tighten the girth and she walked wide around the back to sinch the other side and as I was getting the last buckle secured her horse started jumping back and I think it was kicking. I couldn't see DD and looked to the other side and saw the new horse shaking her head while bucking and broke the harness and got free. I managed to get out of her path as she went off to the pastures and we were close to one of the rings so there wasn't a lot of room for both of us to be in that space. DD was reaching for the girth's buckle when her horse started kicking and she ran away. She thought that she had done something to upset that horse and was scared at the spectacle the new horse gave. The reharnessed her and put her back on the post...but we were still trying to get both the horse and DD calmed down. With all of this we had to change the girth because it was too long and the new horse was brought back as I was just attaching one side. The owner of the stable told me to give her some space because he was going to get into the trailer again, which may have spooked her in the first place so I didn't finish attaching the sadle. She started breaking free again and one of the older girls ran over and unhitched DD's horse from the post to get him away which caused the sadle to slide off. We took him to a quieter area we could get him tacked and DD could pet him and calm down. She mounted and we led them to the ring. She ended up having a great lesson and did a killer 2-point stance but she was still upset about it after we got home. I started shaking after I finally got to sit down and watch the lesson. I am really proud of her for riding after everything since it upset her so much. In two years it is the first time she has ever been afraid of the horses. :(

I thought that I had the info in the first post.

If staying at a precruise hotel through DCL $69pp airport to hotel to ship to airport.
If flying in day of cruise $49pp airport to hotel to airport.

Is the airport option on the transfers ONLY Vancouver airport or are there other airport options as well?

I saw the hotel quotes for up to 3 people, are there any quotes for 4 people in a room?

TIA

Lisa, I have a OBB that has the 50% off deposit offer attached to it. My TA confirmed yesterday, that I'll have to pay the full 600 pp deposit on Monday.

Thanks for confirming this from what seems to be a more reliable source than the CMs who keep giving conflicting info. :( I have worked in a collections call center so I do know that the CMs are not the ones at fault for this mess that never seems to go away. It is management's job to provide them with good information and training so that they understand what is correct...not just wing it because there is so much info being given out at one time and apparently management doesn't even know the answer to some questions. :sad2:

Yes, I agree. There is also a lot more flexibility when you book your own since you are in control of what you are booking! I've had the best luck with travelocity. Is there another search engine that you find better?

Jodie

Things were moving so quickly I think that people were just posting quick replies and by the second or third response were not posting every piece of info so the fact that they had trasferred an OBB was lost from the conversation. Hopefully now the info is pretty much set so it won't be as confusing on Monday. :)
