But so does this mean if we're silver and have an existing ressie with the 1/2 dep. to xfer on the 28th to a Med cruise we get no more OBC (that we DID have) AND we have to pay the full $600 pp dep????:scared1:

If that's the case I may sail with someone else just based on being treated so poorly.:headache: That would be a real crock. :sad2:

You keep the OBC that you had from the onboard booking but your deposit will be based on the new deposit amounts. You will need to pay the difference between what you have already dep and what is due on the new amount.
My BFF called DCL to see what prices would be and to asks if they have started to increase. She was told yes they have. She said that also the prices that are today will not be the same most likely for next week when many will book. She also said that she so far has had no calls for Alaska but for all the other cruises. She was asking about the Med prices. She is not a DIS memeber.

I also think I read on here that a poster mentioned that the price at one moment was different than when she called back again. That it had started to show a difference.

Bummer.
You can see from some of the prices given in the first post that the prices have gone up from 8 am, especially on the PC repo. I asked the CM I talked to about the tier pricing and he said that yes they will be handling that the same way they always do and that some prices had already increased when I talked to him at 10:45 or so.

well some interesting news to report-my sister and her friend who are silver cc members had their reservation transfered to a 7/11 med cruise; she had emailed her TA who said she would check it out but no promises- she hasn't heard back from TA but checked online and her reservation is showing as moved to 7/2011 Med. cruise.

It might be worthwhile to try- just an FYI.

Wow..maybe I will try just to see!

Okay - I have to give props to Josephine at DCL.

After I am sure she had a HECTIC morning. She was the most patient and helpful cast member I have had in a long while. She answered all my questions. She let me check multiple dates and change from one side of the ship to the other at the last minute. Never once did I feel like she just wanted me to get it over with.

WTG Josephine :cool1::cool1:

ITA! I wish that I could have been calm enough when I heard a voice after 2 1/2 hours this morning to write the name down...but he was wonderful! I originally booked 7000 not wanting to miss out on a forward room and after we went through everything asked if a SPH was open and when it was he switched everything quickly. He also did a great job with our friends' ressie who needed HA rooms. He transferred everything from their existing cruise info since they are in the same rooms and was very nice the entire time even though I asked for the comparative price in one C5A HA and a few other things that had been posted and even checked out the OBC info for transferred OB bookings. He told me that the two calls before me were people who were insisting that they had 5 cruises but in actuality they had 3 and 4. :sad2: He said last week they mainly got calls from people who were upset about everything...not just the CC tiers.

My experience today is the opposite of this. Our resie that I transferred today was made back in 12/06 originally. There was no deposit discount back then so when I transferred it today I had to pay the full $600 per person deposit so the deposit amount is based on what your original booking had. The OBC for the cruise was a regular 7 night so had a $200 OBC. That was changed to $275 when I transferred it today which is the new amount for gold CC members

:thumbsup2

Well the prices are not lower but higher, I have a T (cat 3) for 7/30/2011.

AD X2 CH X 2 Ballpark (Bank manager do not look)

$19k

Higher than 12 night Baltic in 2011.

Thanks...but I wonder how much tho for us common old lowly steerage folk?:rotfl:

I think the tier pricing is unfair to those that cant afford to go on alot of cruises. They are the ones that need the lower prices, not the ones that can cruise all the time because they are financially blessed. I have been on 7 Disney cruises and can book today.

But an extra $1000 or more for a cruise that they have to wait a week for to book makes it that much harder. JMO but I think DCL should have maybe left all booking to all on the same day but just let the tiers be for booking excursions and palos to the Gold/ platinum members with a special gift and so on.

I noticed on here that someone booked the PC already with a GTY. Already. That will make it much harder next week with it being sold out.

I am happy for us that we can book early but sad for those that cant,.

I doubt that. The Silver OBC for rebooking will probably still be the $200.00.

My TA handled mine. Our fax is dated 10:09 am. We transfered our Westbound Transatlantic (booked on board) to PC.

2 A cabin 7063 category 11A GTtransfers but no ins $4333 incl tax

:sad2::sad2::sad2: What a hornets nest this is going to create. DCL has to start being consistent or they are going to just keep upsetting people.

Alaska 5/10
2 Adults 11c
$2287
$600 deposit

Pretty much bang on what we thought it would be....

We can book on the 28th!!:thumbsup2 Wish it was today, but we have only been onboard twice! We are interested in one of the alaska cruises- flexable with dates- probably July or August- interested if any one has found any weeks cheaper, ? more expensive- can you book online or via phone only??

:sad2:If that's the ballgame they want to play then they can keep their silly old boat!! Perhaps I'll wait to xfer our ressie to the Dream and perhaps I'll just ask for our deposits back. I'm really not liking this game they seem to be playing right now - esp. if they're dropping the 1/2 dep. starting Wed. They have rocks in their heads if they think I'll go from my $375 dep. to $1,800 for a cruise that's 2 years away! I got other things to do with that $1,425 between now & then! I guess we'll find out for sure in another week. But I don't like this waiting game either...

I know, I felt weird posting it-she wasn't trying to "get over" on anyone- she just wanted pricing and wanted her TA to know that she wanted it switched on the 28th. I posted it because I know some people here are unhappy to have the wait and I just wanted to say try-it might be worth it.

I have to wait till March while onboard to book; so I can only imagine the pricing then.:scared1:

It happens every time though. The past two release dates I have sat on hold for over an hour or more while watching the prices increase online. I couldn't book online because I had a ressie to transfer. It is a gamble every time you call in on opening day. Some people have no problem getting through in the first five minutes and some people don't. Today I dialed two different numbers on two phones for 40 minutes. I then was on hold for 1 1/2 hours. I know some people got lower prices than I did, just like in 2007 for the EBPC repo and in 2008, but there is nothing I can do about it.

:scared1: $1800 Deposit for Alaska 6/28/11 cruise family of 6 :scared1:

GEEZ!

And $10,991.78 for a cat 11 (now 11A) and what used to be a cat 6 (now a cat 5B).
Does not include airfare or hotel.

Reserved but I think after DH and I discuss this we are not going to go.

Love DCL but...I don't know.

Wow!! This is going to cause some major drama! :headache:

Alaska 7/26
1A 011B (no ins/trans) $2,081.63 (sideways room!)

It was a transferred reservation, so I had $250 deposit already, had to add $350 more today. Not sure about 10% OB discount or OBC, those question are into TA at DU
