We're in

8/2 Alaska is much more expensive than 8/9

8/2 cat 5c 3 adults with insurance $7040.89

8/9 cat 5c 3 adults with insurance $5960.89
cat 6a 3 adults without insurance $5483.89
cat 6a 3 adults with insurance $5760.89

cat 5b 2 adults without insurance $4509.26
cat 5c 2 adults without insurance $4349.26

I hope that all you Gold and Platinum folks have managed to book what you wanted. :goodvibes

Hope the prices hold until next week. :hippie: I guess I'll be trying to book online because I don't fancy being in a phone queue for over 2 hours since I'll be calling from Scotland! :scared1:

Back on phone. Hopefully the madness has calmed down and I can get through within my lunch hour.

I find it interesting that they did not offer an "Estimated Wait time"

Here is what I can give you for point quotes. It was very difficult to say the least this morning. I spoke to a CM right at 8 am est and they were actually still in the process of downloading the DVC points at that time.

Reading them took a bit of time for the CM as well. It really would have helped if DVC had this ready before this morning..

For the Alaska June 21 sailing, points are per person, for adults:

Cat T (old cat 3) 761 ea
Cat 5C (old cat 6 on deck 6 forward) 354 ea
Cat 9A (old cat 8) 283 ea
Cat 7A (old cat 7) 327 ea

Keep in mind if you are looking at the old Category 6, for example, there are now 3 prices ranges and locations with the new categories. I only took the pricing for the "C" level which is the lowest price for the old cat 6.

Wow wait times are significantly less - 2 or 4 minute wait time.

July 26th - 2 adults - 1 teen (no insurance)
Catagory 10A - $4463.89

Booked on 9/21/09, 9:01AM Eastern, Category 9B (2nd deck, large window, mid-ship), 2Adults, $3149 quoted (with taxes, no transfers), booked at $2885 after 10% discount for modifying an existing cruise.

Which cruise is this for?

Good luck to all! Doea anyone have a quote for the 11 nite meds to share!
:thumbsup2
 Yay! Looks like nobody else is thinking about going to the Med in 2011!! Hope that means lots of availability on the 28th! :yay:
(But I WOULD like to see some prices!:rolleyes1)
(There's no smiley with his fingers crossed!)

maybe they will have cheaper prices than 2010 with the lack of excitement.

Well the prices are not lower but higher, I have a T (cat 3) for 7/30/2011.

AD X2 CH X 2 Ballpark (Bank manager do not look)

$19k

Higher than 12 night Baltic in 2011.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

Okay - I have to give props to Josephine at DCL.

After I am sure she had a HECTIC morning. She was the most patient and helpful cast member I have had in a long while. She answered all my questions. She let me check multiple dates and change from one side of the ship to the other at the last minute. Never once did I feel like she just wanted me to get it over with.

I can only let you know what happened with my client today.. thier deposit was moved but they had to make up the difference to the $300.00 per person deposit. (they only had to put down 125 pp on thier onboard booking from last year) I asked why it just didn't transfer and was told that since I was moving the cruise it was booked for that the new deposit amount comes into play.

Hope this helps!

I spoke to 2 different CM (had to call back to make a change) and I have to say - they were both incredible! Both were very patient with me as I checked and double checked everything and made changes...as frazzled as we were with the disconnects and wait time..I know they had it worse but I was really impressed with both of them. :woohoo:

Is this on an Alaskan cruise? TIA!

My BFF called DCL to see what prices would be and to asks if they have started to increase. She was told yes they have. She said that also the prices that are today will not be the same most likely for next week when many will book. She also said that she so far has had no calls for Alaska but for all the other cruises. She was asking about the Med prices. She is not a DIS memeber.

I also think I read on here that a poster mentioned that the price at one moment was different than when she called back again. That it had started to show a difference.

Bummer.

Those are just for onboard bookings that were transferred. Apparently that is another difference between the tiers now. The old standard used to be $200 for a 7 day cruise.

But so does this mean if we're silver and have an existing ressie with the 1/2 dep. to xfer on the 28th to a Med cruise we get no more OBC (that we DID have) AND we have to pay the full $600 pp dep????:scared1:

If that's the case I may sail with someone else just based on being treated so poorly.:headache: That would be a real crock. :sad2:

:headache: Me too. Kicker is, I was on the phone with DCL on Friday and mentioned to a CM that I was going to call in today for the Holiday sailings and she NEVER SAID A WORD!

Drat!!! The person first notified me Saturday afternoon and the CM said that they had just taken the dates down.

I've been thinking the same thing. FWIW, when my TA called for her gold/plat members today she priced a few cruises for me and 2A on the 7/20/11 med in a 7A would be $7381.32 (with insurance but no transfers).

WE ARE GOING BACK TO ALASKA........ THIS TIME WITH THE MOUSE

I just booked a navigators verandah on one of the Alaskan Cruises #7620 $4027 w/trip insurance and fees no transfers

Sailing on the Disney Wonder May 24th 2011! :woohoo:

Squid

:thumbsup2 Congrats! That's one of the old "secret verandah" cabins!! Well done!

Just for information,

DCL now has an arrangement with Virgin cruises in the UK, and now all Med and Europe cruises are sold here as well and in £'s.

They must have done the maths 2007, 2010, and now 2011, they must feel this is the place to put a ship, coming back so quickly.

Now with exactly the same cruises available in 2010 and 2011 there will be less immediate demand, unlike Alaska which of course is very new.

DCL have doubled their size of staff in their London office, so plan to be around a lot.

Anyway, might get a ship to myself for 11 nights!!!:)
