Perhaps Akerhaus for a Princess lunch?

Hmmm, not a bad idea....

Now I'm thinking of joining you guys for breakfast. :sad2:

:thumbsup2 should we make this part of the LOEMH meet?

Kat, I think with the AP you may be better off getting DDE from what I hear. Mo will actually be able to answer this better than me though.

I hope you will be able to find someone to go with you

I have the DDE this year, once you have an AP you can purchase it for $65. Since I am taking 3 trips within one year I played with the #'s and realized this would work for me. A single DDE card can be used for up to parties of 10 and includes booze. You get 20% off the bill. With all the people going in January, it might be cost effective for you. It is for sit down restuarants and resorts and parks with no sit down (POFQ, I could use in the food court since they don't have a sit down. Not sure about AK now that Yak and Yeti is open)

As for coming in August, would you consider traveling solo. If you do a search you can find 2 solo trip reports that I did, to give you an idea. The freedom you have as a solo is wonderful. I never even considered it until 2003 when I was sent to Orlando for a week long conference. Each night I went to the parks and couldn't believe how much fun I was having. Also, if you look at the plan so far you wouldn't have much alone time. Friday we are at the WP, Sat we are meeting at Biergarten and Sunday is LOEMH. Just something to consider....

V - should we take a trip out West in 09???:teeth:
Don'tcha love how I drag V into these things??

Hey T how many Fockers can you put up at your house?

Think of all the fun we could have playing Where's Waldo:lmao:

DDP = not for V

I did the numbers for us today and the DDP would actually cost us more than paying out of pocket. :confused3
Ditto.
For us it would actullay cost $10 - $20 more per day to use the DDP. .
Yep, that's about what I came up with, too.
Really? Care to post your theory. I really don't want to do it - I would prefer OOP, but Andy says if it saves money, we'll do it.
May I post mine, too?

Here's how I ran the numbers for Dec... Looking through the menus at allearsnet, I selected what we'd be likely to order at each restaurant and added the totals for each day, including tax and tip (I used the DDE 20% discount on TS meaks, but tip 20%, so it evens out):
Sunshine Seasons + Le Cellier = $92.79
Lunch on Boardwalk/BC + Mama Melrose = $68.35
CHH + Spoodles = $84.57
lunch in room (I figured we'd have leftovers by this point) + CP = $73.11
EP CS + Biergarten = $101.38
Plaza + DTD CS = $56.51
+ $4 snacks per day (this is all we normally spend between the 3 of us)

TOTAL OOP = $500.71

TOTAL DDP @ $88.97/day = $533.82

So I'm already ahead going OOP. On top of that, we never went to a couple meals and shared others, so we came up MUCH better OOP. :thumbsup2

Hey T. I took the cost of the dining plan per person $37.99 per adult and $9.99 per child (for us it would be 3 adult and 1 child) added the 6.5% tax that is NOT in that price

Is the no-tax thing part of the 2008 plan?

well I have pretty much been told that KC doesn't wanna go in August! BUT he said I can go! Gee Thanks! Now I have to beg some friends and see who wants to go with me! Maybe DH will change his mind once we get there but the tickets would have to be upgraded to APs so we shall see! So what happens as far as the dining plan if I have an AP? (I never had one before)
Come on down anyway Kat!
I believe the only way to get on the dining plan is to A) Purchase a Magic Your Way Package or B) Be a DVC owner (or rent points) and add it on that route.
That is correct. The DDP can only be used as part of a package (i.e.: regular room rate + at least one-day ticket) or on a DVC stay. I'm not sure if you're renting, though, if it carries over.

Period. Ooooh....speaking of AKL, remind me to post pictures of my new bar. Errr...liquor cabinet...I'll try and do that today.[/B]

It's Southern Cal. so it never gets that cold --how about setting up some tents in your yard:idea: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Charleston is really nice around Thanksgiving. Just saying. ;)
Oooo, yes - Charleston definitely has possibilities! I know my mother will lobby for a return trip to Jekyll Island as an option, too. And there's always the NC mountains...

Any ideas for a last lunch that Kelly would like at Epcot on Friday?
If not the Princess thing, maybe GG?

Okay, here's my tentative schedule...

8/21 - drive, pool, MK evening?
8/22 - WP with the Fockers, dinner somewhere
8/23 - MK morning, Focker meet at Biergarten and beyond
8/24 - pool or WP, drive home

That's right; your eyes do not decieve you... no LOEMH on 8/24. I know, but we check out that day and there's no way we can manage both. :guilty:

And I have NO idea where we might want to eat. :confused3

Yay - welcome back Jo!! I can't wait to see the girls' expressions :cutie:
Thanks V I'll try and load the video within a few days, still need to work out how to edit it though!!!!

But like you said..... you never know. Heh heh heh. ;)
Yeah T we'll believe it when we see it :rotfl2:

OK referring to my last post and the DPP I pulled a page from TE's book and did a day by day cost analysis of DDP v. OOP. For us it would actullay cost $10 - $20 more per day to use the DDP. Unless mom & dad can get a CM discount, which I don't think they can unless they actually stay with us:eek: , it looks like we will definitely do OOP.
I think if we didn't get it free it would work out cheaper for us to do OOP too!

Dis any of this make sense becasue I am starting to get confused:confused3 :lmao:
Of course that made sense to us Janet, not sure about any non-DISers :rotfl2:

well I have pretty much been told that KC doesn't wanna go in August! BUT he said I can go!
I'm sure you can work on him :thumbsup2

Hmmmmm....no '09 visit, eh???? Actually, I said that I'd be cutting wayyyy down on my trips to WDW in 09 too...:scratchin
Nope - no '09 visit. I think we'll stay home and visit DLR for a long weekend - perhaps shack up at GC or DLH for a few nights w/ and AP rate.

Yeah, the pink/purple pictures on Allears really creeped me out too...BUT then again, as beautiful as the GF is, I don't like the looks of their rooms either. BUT I'd still stay there just once if I could afford it. I'm going for the OKW....And I've got a 1BR for 2 nights in Jan so I'lll scope it out and report back!! Going to book a studio though for August...

I'm looking forward to hearing about OKW - be sure to take lots of pics! What day are you checking in?

You pinkie promised???
I KNOW! It was a moment of weakness, I tell ya! He preyed on my weak moment! :sad2:

Why am I singing "GO WEST" by the Village People?

Perhaps. :scratchin:

So true - if you come for the weekend, you'd just have enough alone time to rest! :lmao:

Hey T how many Fockers can you put up at your house?
4 adults and loads of kids in sleeping bags! :thumbsup2

DDP = not for V

See V, I'm thinking the same thing. I thinking I'm not going to add it. My kids barely even eat a whole meal. It kills me to throw away all that food. I know I could order 1 meal and share with Maddie and Evan. Even CS meals - I could order M&E an adult chicken strips meal and they'd share.

It's Southern Cal. so it never gets that cold --how about setting up some tents in your yard:idea: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
You beat me to that line, Janet! :lmao:

 But, but, but...... it's a magically hungover tradition! :guilty:

Yeah T we'll believe it when we see it :rotfl2:
Don't forget - I'll be *gasp* starting back to work in the fall. I doubt a new company will give me any vacation time for '09. :sad1:

I may have found someone to go with me already! LOL! Before she even goes once our friend who is coming with us in Jan says she may be interested! It would be really cheap if she does since we can both upgrade to APs and split the cost of the hotel for nearly nothing! And I have no issues with mostly counter service food and maybe just one or 2 TS meals to save $! I am pretty much resigned to going, I wanna meet you all and I WILL drag someone with me!!!!

So who's staying where again??? I think if I do get to go I'd like to try Riverside, esp. since KC didn't seem to into that resort!

You won't get any vacation  Over here I think you only have to work a couple of months before your vacation allowance kicks in and that normally starts at about 21 days!!!!

Already :rotfl2: We're staying at POR 14th to 28th :thumbsup2

OK I had to go to a different site so I could edit the video, hope it works! Click here!

You have to remember Jo that it's only been a few years since women were even allowed to work in the US, let alone get vacation time.

My policy at work is one weeks vacation after any women have completed their 5th year of continuous employement without a sick day. I'm a fair guy. ::yes::

Jo! What a great response from the girls! They seems so sincerely happy and excited. AND, the list of kids to meet just keeps getting longer and longer.

What a great Christmas morning for you and your family.

:goodvibes

I'm glad to see you in fine form again, Buzz. :lmao:

DH got one week until he was there 5 years and now he gets 2 weeks. You get 3 weeks-get this- after 20 years with the company! We're excited he gets 2 now! He rolled a week over, so he has 3 weeks to use by 9/1.

Thanks Kate, I only said the ones they knew, but the list is going to be huge by the time we're there :thumbsup2

what  2 weeks is all you get that's ridiculous, DH can take up to 6 weeks if he wants, admittedly he doesn't earn any money when he's not working!!!

What a great reaction! They are so excited! Nice to put a voice with a face! pip pip... :rotfl2:
:rotfl2: pip, pip :rotfl2: Did you not see the other video I did?

Oh Jo, that was wonderful to watch! I just adore those girls. :goodvibes

I love that you used "Leo"! Were they like "Who?" afterward?! (For those who don't know, "Leo" is my DS's alias on the Internet, not his real name. Though I just accidentally called him "Leo" the other day at home.)

So now you've got 8 months to kill - are the girls excited to start planning?

Many companies give vacation after 6 months, some even after 3....

Most companies I've ever worked for give 1-2 weeks vacation after 12 months. Some companies give PTO time (Paid Time Off) after 30 days base on hours worked and it just accumulates from there. I know this is common in the Medical field.

Wonderful, Jo! Ellie looked completely speechless! I loved it! Maddie and Evan watched with me and said "Woo hoo! THey get to see us!" :lmao:
