First off, I realized that Paris for Thanksgiving next year is highly unlikely. :sad1: The dollar's just losing too much value and I really need to pay down some debt. Still, if I can manage to keep all my WDW stays on points rather than cash, we might be able to go somewhere for Thanksgiving.

Charleston is really nice around Thanksgiving. Just saying. ;)

Say it isn't so! :sad1:

::yes:: I've made a pact with the devil (Andy) for next August's trip. I've pinkie promised not to plan on going in '09 in return for '08, some DVC points, and the Grand '10 trip. I'm sure with your FDM, I've come out on top, though! :teacher:

But like you said..... you never know. Heh heh heh. ;)

:thumbsup2

Hey but I plan on coming to DL in 2009, so we can have a mini meet and this was you won't go Fockerless in 2009.:thumbsup2

Yup - no matter how I slice it, DDP is cheaper.

I did the numbers for us today and the DDP would actually cost us more than paying out of pocket. :confused3

It's not always good, though. He tries to **** block me constantly! :lmao: And then trying to explain to him the whole DVC points thing is worse than trying to potty train Evan! :headache:

:rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Yep I'm still at Dad's home tomorrow, the girls were more than excited about the trip and when I told them all of you would be there too they were ecstatic :cloud9: I did video it but I don't know how to edit it so it's short enough to go on here, anyone know?

Not me, I am electronically challenged. Jim does all that stuff for us.

I'm hoping now the girls know that I can get onto some serious planning once I get home, hopefully my Passporter will have arrived too, the girls are keen to help plan the ADR's this year :thumbsup2

:yay: :yay: :yay:

:woohoo: Whatever it takes to get DVC!:thumbsup2

OK referring to my last post and the DPP I pulled a page from TE's book and did a day by day cost analysis of DDP v. OOP. For us it would actullay cost $10 - $20 more per day to use the DDP. Unless mom & dad can get a CM discount, which I don't think they can unless they actually stay with us:eek: , it looks like we will definitely do OOP.

Ok, I re-did my Plan (this is take 2 for those keeping count)

Arrive Thursday 8/21 late morning
Thursday check in at GF and go to MK 1900 Park Faire for dinner

Friday - WP with the Fockers and fireworks at MK, dinner at Plaza

Saturday - AK and Focker meet at Biergarten

Sunday LOEMH:eek: thinking of breakfast at CP after LOEMH, anyone else interested??? love their puffy French toast
Check into BCV and hang at pool, still thinking of HDDR for dinner

Monday - Epcot and Garden Grill

Tuesday - IF not EMH then DS and Mama Melrose Fantasmic dinner package otherwise maybe pool day and DTD

Wednesday - If Tuesday was EMH then today will be DS otherwise pool and DTD

Thursday - hoping this will be P&PP and schedule BBB for Kelly and dinner at CRT

Friday - Breakfast at Cape May,check out and hang out at Epcot until leave for Airport (afternoon flight)

What are your thoughts, based days on what I could tell EMH days are (in order to avoid them), DS don't seem to be as regular as the other parks. Any ideas for a last lunch that Kelly would like at Epcot on Friday?

I am up to 2 also Mo:rolleyes: It's funny that you mentioned CP for breakfast at CP after LOEMH, I was thinking of doing the same thing. I am still on the fence about doing breakfast or late lunch/early dinner there on the same day. If we decide on breakfast I will definitly let you know.

No way you can change you BBB & PP Party to Tuesday to 26th. If they have it that is the day Tracey and I have penciled in for it, just sayin:rolleyes1

Have you done Mama Melrose's before? I want to do the fantasmic dinner package too, but am torn between MM's and H & V.

If you decide on Breakfast definately let me know.

You think P&PP will be Tuesday? Then I would move DS to Thursday, (I guess that makes Plan #3)

I love the flatbread at MM, I ate there on the Backstage Magic Tour last year. I didn't even think of H&V, is that part of Fantasmic, see I didn't know that, Kelly would probably prefer that.

H&V is part of Fantasmic. I am really leaning towards this becasue of the buffet. More chance that the kids will eat something. There are no characters there for dinner, but that is probably a good thing in our case!

Based on last years dates it was on Tuesday. They have added dates up to June so hopefully they will announce for July & August soon!

Whew, good thing I have my Focker friends to watch over me:goodvibes

Really? Care to post your theory. I really don't want to do it - I would prefer OOP, but Andy says if it saves money, we'll do it.

Only 2? :lmao:
Friday - WP with the Fockers and fireworks at MK, dinner at Plaza Ditto on AM and PM:thumbsup2

Sunday LOEMH:eek: thinking of breakfast at CP after LOEMH, anyone else interested??? love their puffy French toastCarp! I have CP for P&PP on Tuesday!

Monday - Epcot and Garden GrillDitto, except we're at Akershaus for breakfast!

Tuesday - IF not EMH then DS and Mama Melrose Fantasmic dinner package otherwise maybe pool day and DTDWithout violating Lover's rules, I'll just say - good choice. ;) However, based on last years date, I do believe this will be P&PP night.

Wednesday - If Tuesday was EMH then today will be DS otherwise pool and DTD I think DS is a great choice. :teeth:

Any ideas for a last lunch that Kelly would like at Epcot on Friday?
Perhaps Akerhaus for a Princess lunch?

Now I'm thinking of joining you guys for breakfast. :sad2:

I have a feeling if they do August dates, they will most likely stick to last years schedule.

Hey T. I took the cost of the dining plan per person $37.99 per adult and $9.99 per child (for us it would be 3 adult and 1 child) added the 6.5% tax that is NOT in that price and took one of my days where I had a TS scheduled. The thing that really kills me is paying adult prices for DNephew who would rather eat chicken nuggets and mac & cheese! It came out to $12.00 less paying OOP. We usually only eat one large meal per day when at WDW. I have breakfast food (cereal/milk/granola bar). Also, we don't do a TS everyday, just not our thing KWIM.

Example, on AK day last year we ate muffins and stuff in the morning at Tusker House, Pizzafari for lunch, and then had a snack at the pop food court (a fruit cup or something like that) after we got back to the room and then went to the pool.

Based on all of this it just isn't cost effective for us.

Dis any of this make sense becasue I am starting to get confused:confused3 :lmao:

That's right - you have your DNeph who is an adult according to DDP! I can see how you'd be better off OOP.
But riddle me this, the 6.5% tax is not included in the DDP? Where does the tax come in if you are on the DDP? Per meal or per day? I'm confused. I think I'm trying to find a loop hole to get out the DDP! :lmao:

They add it on to your bill when you get the DDP so figure the total cost is really $37.99 per adult, $9.99 multiply the number of days and then add 6.5% I assume to the total. I wouldn't think they would add the 6.5% per day. Got the that info from passporter.

well I have pretty much been told that KC doesn't wanna go in August! BUT he said I can go! Gee Thanks! Now I have to beg some friends and see who wants to go with me! Maybe DH will change his mind once we get there but the tickets would have to be upgraded to APs so we shall see! So what happens as far as the dining plan if I have an AP? (I never had one before)

Kat, I think with the AP you may be better off getting DDE from what I hear. Mo will actually be able to answer this better than me though.

I hope you will be able to find someone to go with you

I believe the only way to get on the dining plan is to A) Purchase a Magic Your Way Package or B) Be a DVC owner (or rent points) and add it on that route.

Bummer, Kat. I hope you can convince DH to join the August merriment!

Are you copying me? I think I get some kinda royalty for that tip...........wait......I think it was DM's idea, but she's not here so you can pay me! :thumbsup2 ;)

It's actually frighteningly clear to me....I have been obsessing about this quiet a bit. I truly do feel that now that they have cut out the appie and tip, that it's pretty individual and could go either way depending on family choices.

Tax---just count on $40.36 per day for each adult and u don't have to figure any more tax. The tax on all meals is covered. It's all on my credit card in a big old lump sum somewhere I feel sure....:sad2:

Ditto - that gets my vote, too! (In case Andy cares what your imaginary friends think he should do with his money. )
:lmao:

Okay, I ran the Fuzzy numbers and...
Ooooh...this is gonna be good!!!
I made it work! Listen up LL - you'll want to hear about this, too:

:listen: I'm all ears baby, give it up!!popcorn::

First off, I realized that Paris for Thanksgiving next year is highly unlikely. The dollar's just losing too much value and I really need to pay down some debt. Still, if I can manage to keep all my WDW stays on points rather than cash, we might be able to go somewhere for Thanksgiving.
I also realized that Leo and I will be taking a long trip up north this summer to visit with friends and relatives. So, really, this would be a good year to do a few short WDW trips, rather than any week-long jobs.

SO, with that in mind, I started with WDW dates for my DVC 2008 use year:

8/21-24
10/26
12/13-14

Ok, I'm with ya so far....

Then, I jsut kept shuffling the resort options around those dates until... SUCCESS! Just like a puzzle, if I matched the right resort with the right dates, I came out under the number of points I have left...
8/21-24 at OKW or AKV (standard view)
10/26 at OKW
12/13-14 at VWL - if we can get it

This leaves me with a whole 4 extra points left over to bank for 2009! Then I can do this:
5/23-25 2009 at OKW
5 nights Dec. 2009 at SSR

Woo Hoo!! See...OKW keeps getting into my equations too!! How can we NOT try it?:confused3

It's Fuzzy Elementary! :teacher:

Sure is!!! I bow at your feet my friend!!!:worship:

Now, I just have to choose between OKW and AKV for Aug.... We stopped at OKW on our way home last week, just to look around.

And??? And???? How'd it look???popcorn::

LL, are you reading?

You betcha!!!:surfweb:

I, too, had heard all the amazing stories of DISers absolutely in love with OKW, and didn't get it, based on pics from allearsnet. Let me tell you - it's gorgeous! Gramma, Leo and I all said we'd love to stay there someday, and we agreed that we'd prefer a warm time of year so we could really use the pool. Aug. would fit that bill nicely, no?

 THIS calls for a dancing banana!! Good, cause I'm planning on staying there in August!!! Waiting for that 7 month window to open up. AND I think I can squeak in an extra day too from changing my stay in January!!:teacher:

Of course, Aug. is really, really hot. So interior hallways leading to stuff would be nice. Enter AKV. I'm dying to try their villas out. And I love the resort. And the zero-entry pool is a big plus for Leo. And I always enjoy the food at Mara.

Man oh man did I love those AKV mock-up rooms....if they had a salivating smilie guy, I'd insert it HERE!!! I love AKL. Period. Ooooh....speaking of AKL, remind me to post pictures of my new bar. Errr...liquor cabinet...I'll try and do that today.

HELP! This may become a poll very soon. Rather like the great Biergarten/Garden Grill decision of 2007.

:lmao: I'm ready!!

Jimm and Tony are going to get along famously Usually when I say I've been thinking" Jim's response is "How much is it going to cost

:rotfl2: You know it!!

Yeah, that was my vote, too! BUT - we won't be returning in '09 even if we buy into DVC. We've got a huge trip planned in '10 with my brother and his family for a cruise and Grand Villa stay for at least 14 days total. I'll have to bank points next year.

Hmmmmm....no '09 visit, eh???? Actually, I said that I'd be cutting wayyyy down on my trips to WDW in 09 too...:scratchin

And then trying to explain to him the whole DVC points thing is worse than trying to potty train Evan!

:lmao: OMG - I feel your pain Sista!!!

I have to admit, when we passed by on the ME, it REALLY looked nice. Of course, the purple/pink rooms scared Andy off, but the resort looks wonderful.

Yeah, the pink/purple pictures on Allears really creeped me out too...BUT then again, as beautiful as the GF is, I don't like the looks of their rooms either. BUT I'd still stay there just once if I could afford it. I'm going for the OKW....And I've got a 1BR for 2 nights in Jan so I'lll scope it out and report back!! Going to book a studio though for August...

D'oh! :headache: I really like the AKV. I wonder if the new pool area will be complete by Aug?

I don't know...I think that'd be pushing it. I'd think the pool would be almost the last thing to open up.

January's stay is on points borrowed from 2008... so now they're 2007 points. Just to complicate things further.

Sadly, I've been staying on 08 points the last couple of trips on my 08 use year doesn't start until September...:sad2: I'm screwed.

::yes:: I've made a pact with the devil (Andy) for next August's trip. I've pinkie promised not to plan on going in '09 in return for '08, some DVC points, and the Grand '10 trip. I'm sure with your FDM, I've come out on top, though!

You pinkie promised???

Did you have your other hand behind your back with fingers crossed at least???:confused3

Hey but I plan on coming to DL in 2009, so we can have a mini meet and this was you won't go Fockerless in 2009.

:scratchin

V - should we take a trip out West in 09???:teeth:
Don'tcha love how I drag V into these things??

Have you done Mama Melrose's before? I want to do the fantasmic dinner package too, but am torn between MM's and H & V.

I'm doing MM's this coming trip, but we usually hit H&V every time. Love that place. And if you do go, ask for Carole's section, a nice older woman...if she's there, you'll love her. She's AWESOME!!

Whew, good thing I have my Focker friends to watch over me
:grouphug:

Well....gotta get ready for work. Have a Magical Day everyone!!!:goodvibes
