Pretty wild: 70 year-old U.S. Tourist on a Carnival Cruise in Costa Rica kills a mugger with his bare hands. Kind of found it weird that the video shows the police just throwing the mugger's body (wrapped in a sheet) into the back of pick'em up truck. I bet that tourist was drinking free the rest of the cruise.

What are most people doing before the cruise? Disneyland? I'm debating. In 05 we stayed at Huntington Beach and really enjoyed it. Anyone else doing something different?

We're staying at Hojo's. Since we've never been to CA, I want to to do as much as possible. Right now we're planning to do DL, CA, Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Universal and a LA tour.

Last weekend I found a tour company that offers a package deal for transportation only. One price will get you four days for round trip bus service from your hotel to the various attractions. It also inlculdes round trip transportation from the two of the airports. Of course I'm planning to fly into an airport that isn't included.

Thanks for the info. I love the concert idea but am not sure how my elderly mom would do. Also, my youngest dd does not do well in loud situations. Definitely something I would like to do though. Time is on my side

The transportation package sounds like a good way to get around. I wish I had 4 days that I could take before the cruise to do some touring. Ithink my boss will kill me. Which airport were you flying into? Last time, we flew into LongBeach and found it very convenient.

There was so much going on:-

• Deck party for sailaway.
• Boats at the front
• CM's waving us off from the port.
• We went to room as well had a tugg spinning in circles next to us.
• Also there is a helipad next to the port, Copters were going off.
• People waving from the shops.

You had to miss something, next time I plan to be at front and both sides at the same time to see more!!!

We're planning on flying in the Thursday before and doing Legoland on Friday and DL on Saturday. If I take off anymore time than that my boss is likely to end up in a psych ward, especially as I'll be incommunicado for the majority of the trip.

Yes, that was me posting on HB. It really is a very beautiful hotel but unless I can get a good rate we won't do it. For some reason, we are not tempted to do DL at all. We've got 18 months to think about .

Good, my memory is better than I think! I would love to see to the ocean in CA.

Had a lot of running around to do today, and in between was on the couch with my eyes shut. Been having some major headaches lately. Have to wait until next Friday to see the eye doc. I am a weirdo who's first indication of the need for new glasses is a bad headache.

Hi everyone. Oh my gosh am I glad to finally be home! What a day I had at work. I'm the Public Relations Director for a large health care organization and we had a major scare late this afternoon. One of our employees opened an envelope with a white, powdery substance inside. Everyone in the area was removed and isolated for possible decontamination procedures. We had police, fire and hazmat all on the scene. The area was sealed off until hazmat could come in and test for any possible biohazard. Thankfully the tests were all negative and everyone involved was cleared.

Since I am in charge of media relations, I have to remain on scene to handle any media that call or show up. I had to go into emergency mode and prepare for a potential onslaught if the news got out or if it turned out to be something serious. Fortunately it was resolved quietly and without much delay so I am happy to say I won't be on the news at 11 tonight. But it was very stressful nonetheless and I am glad that it didn't turn into a huge story. Mostly I'm glad that everyone involved is fine and there is no threat to their health.

I'm going to go take a hot shower, slip into my jammies and have a glass of wine! TGIF!

That was an exciting day! I am glad everything turned out OK.

Gotta say good night folks. Gotta be chipper tomorrow for our EARLY pinewood derby. Both DS10 & DS12 won 1st place in their class at our church derby. . .now let's see how they do against the big boys at sectional . . .should be a blast! I'll report back tomorrow . .

I'm hoping to fly Jetblue from JFK into Long Beach.

Where I work, our salary is a joke(The Mayor says the city doesn't have any money ) but our benefits are great. We get 30 vacation days each year. However, my director will only allow us to use 20 at a time.
