I love Cirque . . . it's true that it tends to inspire strong feelings(love or hate) rather than indifference, though. Cirque du Soleil is starting a new show that will play during the holiday season at Madison Square Garden this year -- I think they have a 4 year contract to keep doing it. It will have a loose theme around the holiday season/winter in New York. Of course, we already have our tickets for this year!

There is a presale going on now for those in the Cirque club (you just sign up on their website). I'm not sure when the tickets will go for sale to the general public, but soon I would guess. It runs from about the beginning of Nov. to the beginning of Jan, and like the shows in Vegas or Orlando, will be something that you can only see at that venue. Definitely worth a 45 minute train ride, I would say.

Flamenco dance- in the Med?????

I have a week in Barcelona first so that should be good, lots of Sangria, they vary a lot some strong some nearly fruit juice.

Flamenco sounds like a fun -- if challenging -- party theme . . . I had also thought of something centered around a Venice Carnival theme, although we aren't going to Venice, of course. I think DCL knows that we are expecting something special, and will deliver.

A week in Barcelona sounds terrific, Andrew. We will just be there a few days early but I can see that it would be easy to spend a great deal of time there. There are many things that we won't be able to see/do because we will want to hit the highlights in those few days (and adjust to the time change).
