When I got home last night the batteries needed replacing... did that.
It seems like the auto pilot won't light. I could smell gas.

I called one of my brothers and he walked me through some stuff. It would come on, but not get hot.

I'm such a freak about potential emergencies overnight. I told another brother that I was afraid that gas would leak and kill me and the boys in our sleep.

I know, I know...I worry too much...It's just hard being the only adult in the house. I'm always thinking about how I could possibly carry both of the boys out of the house if there was a fire or other emergency.

I'm right there with you on the worry-wart stuff, particularly where the smell of gas is involved. Had an issue with my dryer a few years back where we could occasionally smell gas. I ended up turning off all the gas appliances in fear the house would blow up while waiting to fix it.

Hope you got some sleep and can get someone to take a look at it today. pixiedust: for some good luck.

Here is a pic of Rocky. That was one of his Christmas presents and one of his favorite since. We didn't tell him it was PINK!

Sorry it's so small. Haven't figured this out yet.

My mom could have written this exact same paragraph 20 years ago! Hang in there, I made it through OK (got 2 degrees to prove it). Just DO NOT open my briefcase.

That gives us hope as well......our ds has severe "organizational issues"! He is the type of kid that would misplace his head if it weren't attached. It really tests our patience!

Dearest Tag Fairy, I have to share an amazing discovery. It has become clear that receiving a tag is a magical cure for PMS. It has taken me from this :furious: (shrieking harpie) to this  (cuddly and lovable). My DH has asked me to extend his sincere gratitude to you for this dramatic turn of events. He has declared your powers "miraculous". :worship: He wishes you to know that he is a believer and he is in your debt. (Chocolates to follow!)

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

So, in the weird kind of synchronicity that seems to exist in the world, I present the following true story:

My oldest daughter comes home today and says that in her arts class she is going to have to make a puppet and improvise dialogue that the character she is assigned would say if being seen in a session with a psychiatrist (hey, this is Manhattan). Everyone was randomly assigned characters. So I ask her what her character is and she tells me

CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW!!!!

It's going to be very hard for me not to want to do this one with her . . .

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Too funny! Break out the DVDs!

Thanks for the good luck.

My brother just left. It looks like it's the auto ignite switch. I've got a call in to a repair shop.

At least it's relatively warm out today. The house is at 56 right now.

Let's see if I can get all of this out of the way for us this morning:

1) Duct tape has many purposes
2) We like cake, frosting and whipped cream
3) Anybody get a room assignment?
4) Does anyone know what happened to our web site?
5) Has anyone gotten moved to early seating from WLE?
6) What color are our t-****s going to be?

Judy, did I miss anything?

I guess it doesn't change then? My 6th grader has to have the teachers sign his agenda so I know what the homework is and can make sure that it's done. I'm hoping that this will end this year.

:sad2: My 7th grader goes to an afterschool program called "Homework Assistance" because he continually forgets the homework AND the agenda! Maybe after a year of this, he'll decide he'd rather be on the baseball team, and finally get his *shirt* together.

What a coincidence
I'm in the don't get paid enough club too

You know, I can honestly say I don't have that problem. Considering what I do for a living, when compared with what teachers and police officers and soliders/sailors/airmen are paid for what they do, I am grossly overpaid. Not that I plan to give any of it back to my monolithic faceless corporation, mind you -- that's what charities are for.

Caroline---
Any new meds, soaps, lotions, clothes detergent, unusual food consumption (foods you don't usually eat)

Fever,
Is it itchy, ooozing , raised......

I figured it must have been the Sudafed DH had me take for my oncoming cold. Was the only new thing. He got me some Benadryl (finally) last night and the rash has faded a bit and is less itchy. Still have the dang cold though.

Mine is really good about that. It is the progress reports that he forgets. Even though the grades are good.

I love the agenda. My kids are really good about coming in and doing their homework as soon as they get home. I don't think in all the years they have been in school that I have taken them back to school because they had forgotten something more than 3 x each. I have a 10th grader and 8th.

Our school now e-mails progress reports every Friday, it really helps to stay up with what the kids are doing.

And how did you get them to come right home and do their homework? The beatings didn't work here. ;)

Which reminds me of a pirate shirt I saw in San Fran:

The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves :lmao:

:happytv:

Holy freaky cow!!!! Here I've been skimming through these posts and watching this "AI" show pop up over and over again. And I'd mop around thinking you've all been watching this great sci-fi show on that cable television gizmo that I don't have. Now I put 2 + 2 together and get American Idol and not Artifical Intelligence!!!

:lmao: :lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Aha. Yes, from this she will learn well. :lmao:
Wait a minute. I must be totally ripping off my children on allowance... $15 wasted but her allowance comes in a little LESS? That means her allowance is more than $15?
Shhhh, don't tell my kids! Let's just keep that a secret, shall we. LOL

Allowance?

My kids get one dollar per school grade (4th grade = $4). 25% of that must go to savings.

My oldest DS said to me: So, when I'm in 12th grade I'll get $12.00/week?
I thought to myself, yeah, I wish. I just smiled at him and said won't you be so excited to get so much money?

Oh, forgot:

7) blah, blah, blah N. Rugby.
8) Crocs are cool, not they aren't, don't stick things through Mickey's head.
9) We want tags.

Good Thursday all.

Another day in my own little Paradise :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Let's see I've got a training session in 20 minutes, my performance review and a whole boatload of documents to review because someone else dropped the ball. Somedays I just don't get paid enough!!!!!

Is it too early to start drinking???? It's 5 o'clock somewhere.........

It is NEVER too early to start drinking, although I do have to ask the question, "Why did you STOP drinking?"
