WOW, thanks for the warm welcome. O'BWV, yes we were on the August 06 cruise, with all the things going on during that cruise I can't believe you remembered! In fact thats how we got sucked into this cruise, we rebooked on board figuring we would cruise that same time in 08 and then they spring this PC cruise on us and well we just had to go for it, even got our SPH room, amazing. It will be cool seeing all the familiar faces once again, two years later.
Thanks again for the welcome everyone, Caren

Hi everyone, just stopping bye to say HI! I am busy on the Westbound Thread. You guys are so talkative, I can not keep up!!

Don't feel bad MR, I also missed it on the August 2006 cruise, I did make it to the Pirate Night Party however. We received POC 2 as a Christmas gift this year, sad to say, it's still in the wrapper, I know My Bad!!!

Fire Away At Will :worried:

I went the last night, but missed the beginning. I sent the family ahead without me while I finished packing. No offense, but I'm sorry I wasted precious cruise time to see it. I liked the first one, so much so that I asked DH for the DVD that Christmas, but I thought the second was a little too far fetched for my taste. The scene with them fighting in that rolling wheel was annoying me to no end. Flog ahead! ;) pirate:

Okay - I really have some things I need to do today - you know, clean bathroom, kitchen, wash floors, finish laundry (the list goes on and on). I'll be back later.

And by the way - I'm not committed to do any costume from POTC. I'm interested in the plum ES but don't know if I could really pull of the total character. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to be a pirate wench, so if anyone is interested in doing that one, please do.

Have fun this afternoon.

ITA! I chose Scarlett, but I am not creative enough to put a ton of effort into it so if someone wants to duplicate the costume of Scarlett from the movie, be my guest. I don't sew! ;) I agree with a lot of the ladies, & will most likely just don a red wench outfit & a red wig & call myself Scarlett, but the more Scarletts the merrier! Just like someone said, I'm sure there will be a lot of CJS that night, albeit not "authentic". ;)

I also agree with getting some laundry done today & I still have a sick patient. My DS's fever is much better today, but he is now complaining of a sore throat. I really hope it's not strep! :sad2:

Diane did they show it more than once during our cruise. Gosh, time went by in blur that week didn't it?? I thought it was tad gorey too (Sorry Capt.). For some reason the rotting father bothered me and gave me a nightmare last night. Gee, what kind of wench am I? I'm a sissy who has nightmares like a 5-year-old :rotfl: :rotfl:

gonna be like a family get together........... hopefully without the crazy aunts and uncles !!!! LOL

Hey... I resemble that remark!! Sort of.

In my family, I am the crazy aunt because I am a thorough planner, I go to WDW often and for taking a 15-night DCL cruise or should I say for taking a 15-night DCL cruise with about 400+ people who have named their cruise, are obsessed with pirates and treasure, and like to dress up in costumes. I am the aunt that will jump in the pool fully clothed or show up for a visit in my PJs if I feel like it. I am the aunt.

It is really cool that you're going on both! You'll be a wealth of information for us after you return from the WB too! Have a great time!

Back from church.............nice to see your all active as usual !!!

Hey Caren, us Cruisin' Castaways have a decent show on the Repo. Jump right in if you'd like. It's a great crew going!

Yes I guess they showed it a few times, but we finally got to it that last night. Yes that whole cruise went by in a blur. I missed out on a lot! I'm really starting to think it's because we had early dining & it made our day go by way too fast. I'm seriously considering switching to late dining for this one. Still think it should be called swashbuckler or pirate dining though. ;)

WOW Crash this is impressive! Good work swabbie! If I had the additional time, I'd much rather Amtrak than fly.

MR

We used to take Amtrak all the time from Iowa to Colorado skiiing and I loved it - some tips:

1. Assume the train will always be late, and plan these delays into your schedule!
2. book a sleeping car - it's the only way to actually get rest and sleep - plus you have more privacy!

 pirate: ::yes:: I agree.. the early is called Captains dining all prim and proper, but for those of us hearty enough to have the late sitting.. pirate: :dance3: pirate: we be partying pirates though and though..argggggg

Tell me which ones??

Smart man + smart woman = romance

Dumb boss + dumb employee = overtime

A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn't need.

A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

Those are the ones I'll cop to.............my DH on the other hand.........well that's another story.........and I will remain mute to protect the innocent! :lmao:

INTERESTING!

Would anyone like to hear a TOTALLY GROSS Amtrak story??

Yes? Good...

Me & DH (pre-kids) took Amtrak to FLA (I hate to fly). Made the mistake of going coach (no bed) Well I used the facilities in the Bar Car. The bathroom has that silver port-a-potty type setup. Went No. 1 turned around as the flusher was a push-button type thing on the wall behind the toilet. Pushed the button. The silver trap door opened and instead of sucking stuff OUT, it spewed stuff out - ALL OVER ME. I can get much more graphic but I won't. Just remember one important fact. I was in THE BAR CAR, and I had to wash all the stuff off of me and OUT OF MY HAIR in the sink! By the time I finally hit our hotel in Orlando, I had the SHOWER OF MY LIFE!

I hold this as one of the most embarrasing moments of my life :rotfl: :rotfl: But I can laugh about it................now that is!
