That is an awesome story. Kind of like my BIL and SIL naming their baby Victoria because every time he went out of town he would bring SIL something home from Victoria Secrets.:rotfl:

By the way, we are doing the Destiny again this October. Last year we missed Dominica because of a Medical Emergency on the ship the night before port and they had to turn the ship around and go back to St. Thomas. Unfortunately, unless you were up in the middle of the night you had not clue about this and they didn't announce that we were missing Dominica until it was about time to be docking. Hows that for a bummer.
So we are going to try it again and they have added a few new ports. Barbados ; St. Lucia, WI ; Antigua ; so it won't be a total repeat cruise.

Thats Great ...see we all have our Name secrets :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Oh my.....does Destin know this story? I can see him getting endlessly teased if the rest of the family knows all about it. Poor kid.

Yeah ...we try to explain it to him ....He has a gold statue of the Carnival ship in his room that we had won during some contest and it has Destiny on it ...He sometimes says ..Hey they almost have my name right on that ....:lmao: :lmao:

I'm in Wyandotte and they just opened a Sanders! Haven't been yet. Our Strohs ice cream place carries Sanders toppings on thier ice cream. I have a GF in TN who when she comes up drags me to White Castle! I don't go there very often. We went a couple of weeks ago, just had a craving and the next day at work I was suffering! My boss got a kick out of it when I told him we went there. He told me never on a work night only the weekend!

Shelby Township here. My sister worker years at the Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital but now is downtown. She lives in Allen Park and has a farm in Kalamazoo on the weekends where they raise Alpacas.

And try taveling in a car for 20 hours with someone who has had White Castles.
:scared:

I didn't say she was doing a great job of it, but I told her the toys needed to be off the floor and on shelves or in buckets or they were going in to trash bags. She already has 3 bags full of toys in my closet from the last time she was asked to put her toys away.

Ahhh, ok! That kind of punishment works really well here usually.:thumbsup2

Wow! Could we possibly reach 16,000 tonight?!?!! :scared1: (Especially since it's Friday night and a lot of us will be up later!)

DS will take after his daddy for sure. DH is an engineer...aerospace right now. He graduate from VATech...like his three brother, dad, & GP...with a degree in engineering.

Hey, the Sr. Site Manager where I work is a VATech alum too ... and although there's lots of engineers floating around here, he's not one of them :upsidedow

Forgive me if I'm repeating someone, as I cannot keep up with the past threads.
But on my last cruise, Pirate night they showed one of the movies after the celebration and when the buffet started.

I just had the most amazing surprise arrive in the mail a few minutes ago. Whoever sent this, THANK YOU VERY MUCH ;)

Ahoy Cap'n! Just had to share this with you. As I was scanning the posts, DD7, was looking over my shoulder. She saw your siggie and say, "Hey, how did they do that?" I asked her what she meant, and she said, "Make a double of Captain Jack Sparrow?" I explained things to her and she thinks that you look way "more awesome" than DCL's CJS, whom she did like this past cruise. So, 554 days in advance, let me say "THANKS!!!" for making this an even more memorable cruise for all of our kids! pirate:

I need 16k to happen in the next 1 1/2 - 2 hours. DW has me tied up getting ready for DS B-day party and I won't be able to DIS.

Isn't it funny how they all are different? My DS begged for a tux for our 2005 cruise (when he was 6) so he could dress like Daddy and Grandpa. Both DH and DF have their own tuxes. DH has one because he needs it for the choir we sing with and we have concerts twice a year - definitely cheaper to own than to rent. DF has one because my parents love to ballroom dance and manage to find at least 2 or 3 formal dances each year to attend. My parents cruised with us in 2005 and I got a photo of my 3 guys in their tuxes!

DS was really disappointed last month when we found his tux didn't fit him anymore. There wasn't enough time to get a new one before we cruised, but I have promised him one for this cruise in 2008! (Cool DIS note - I was able to pass on his old tux to a fellow DISer on the Jan13 cruise!)

Oooh! Very nice! I went to a camp right near Shelby when I was in high school. It was probably the most memorable 10 days of my entire life. At that point in my life, I had yet to see the ocean, and had never even seen a body of water larger than the Mississippi River :sad2: ...You can imagine my awe and amazement when I saw Lake Michigan! I don't think I'll ever forget what it felt like to stand on the beach and look out and not see "the other side".

Laura , I see you have been on the Destiny twice ....I have a funny story to tell all of you ...now dont think I am nuts but we also have been on the Destiny and thought what a great name for a baby girl ...We believe that our DS was concieved on the ship soooo , whne we found out DW was pregnant we were hoping for a girl , we were going to Name her Destiny Michelle , well as luck would have it , we found out during the ultrasound that we were having a Boy ..so now the rush was on for a name ...So what we did was just take the Y off of Detsiny to make Destin and then his middle name is Anthony ...so if you say Destin Anthony together it almost sounds like Destiny .....

So thats my corny story ...I doubt there will be more :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:goodvibes :) love that story!:) :goodvibes

Anybody remember Sanders hot fudge sundaes or hot fudge cream puffs?

YES! My mother grew up near Detroit, so Vernors has been a special treat in our family. We used to always get the Saunders hot fudge whenever we went to visit family there. Then thay all moved and we stopped going to Michigan! Fortunately, a few years ago we found out you can mail order the hot fudge. :thumbsup2 We now get it by the case!
