AndREW...Great news about your daughter! :thumbsup2

AndY...You poor thing! But your wonderful DW is always there to your rescue! She's so great! :goodvibes

I can't wait to meet you guys! Everyone! Why do we have to wait 18 more months!! ?!?!?! :confused3 It's not fair!

You are absolutely right about this point. My brother is a CM and we sailed with him on our first cruise. The CM booking the ressie made that point very clearly

Interesting... this makes some sense, and if one cruises on a CM rate then they also arguably have the best deal in the house.... short of cruising free!

Read the DCL book its 442 each downstairs resturant each sitting. If they ever got the max I presume they could split up the extra 48, thats 8 per roatation.

My hunch is that they count on a certain percentage of people skipping the dining assignment in favor of Palo each night. On our last cruise our Head Server asked if we had a Palo night planned and wanted to know if our table would be available to seat another family.

I'm abviously still a bit behind, but Lisa...I hope your DS is feeling better soon. :grouphug:

And Crash...Where on earth do you come up with some of this stuff?!?!?! :lmao: You crack me up!! :lmao:

Could well be right on that.

It's been BRUTAL out there all morning. Just got in for lunch and I'm ready to call it a day already!!! At least I had a nice hot cup of hot chocolate waiting for me. This is a job for the younger folks, I'm getting too old for this stuff!!! :lmao:

Gotta love that hot chocolate!

Even though we had colder days earlier this week, today seems so much more brutal with the wind and blowing snow. I thought I was going to freeze to the gas pump when I was filling up the van.

Be careful out there this afternoon. The cold can be so brutal on the knees.

Good afternoon/morning everyone, goodmorning "triple B". Had a late night at work yesterday, and it was very busy.

Andrew, hope your little one has a speedy recovery.

Do you think we scared off the people with just 1 or 2 posts? They posted and then went -- what the heck, no way I am associating myself with THAT group?

I don't think that's it at all -- however, it's intimidating for many to jump into a thread where so many people already know each other (either from a previous cruise or from the "virtual" world of the Dis) and so much of the conversation goes by so quickly. If someone asks a question and doesn't check back in immediately, it can be hard to even find the answer! I think for many people the website that Lisa sets up elsewhere will be a great place for shared information, easily accessible, and less daunting than this thread. I'm sure that everyone is thrilled so see that there will be such a lively group on this cruise, even if they don't feel they can jump in as so many can.

I do not think there will be wholesale assignments, but the point is well made if someone has a specialrequest like three adjoining rooms/ connecting rooms and that becomes available it would be logical to assign that then, but sinlge room bookings would be left to give max flexibility. IMHO

On our first cruise, the extended family was all booked GTY status for 3 seperate rooms. There was a request for 2 of the rooms to be connecting and the 3rd room adjoining. Even on a full sailing, even given the GTY status, Disney was able to meet those requests.

I hope that those who are concerned about room placement have those requests noted, and are able to keep the faith that things will work out for the best.

My wife has a dual personality on this issue... on the one hand she would like it right here and now! - and on the other hand she knows we got so much going on this year that its' best we have it later next year...

... it's become a thing where her regular "compromise declaration" is that ...

it'll be here before you know it!

OK.... TTFN folks...

Gotta run the kids to school now and then I am a volunteer in the class room for the late morning - so today is a busy day for me with work in the afternoon....

Cheers!

Still a few pages back...I hope that everyone who is sick/hurt gets better, happy that those who were sick/hurt are better and happy birthday to someone somewhere!

NBC Today Show is having a weather team here in a local town MEXICO reporting on the snow fall... They are getting another 12-24"of snow today. Those poor kids will be in school until JULY to make up for it. lol
I envy all you friends in the warm sunny places...:sunny: 70*of snow since Sunday.

Wow! Anchorage has *only* had 74" all year! And that's a lot for us.

Luckily, the DIS provides a nice distraction from my boring conference call on Profile 1A Wave 1 Phase 1 TP Validation. I have to listen for an hour just for my five minutes of pertinent information.

Well, I for one, am always happy when my TP has been validated. Thanks for fighting the good fight.

Andy--I don't know how you do it. I couldn't stand it for 5 min. waiting at the bus stop this morning. I love Spring, and hope it'll be here soon!

Some days I don't know how I do it either, but then I think about how my DW and DD are counting on me. Then of course, I have a couple of cruises to pay for that helps to keep me going, but it isn't easy!!! ;)

That's how I felt initially. I didn't know anyone. We probably cruised with some of you but didn't know it. I did feel welcomed on the board by the group and the conversation is so funny at times that I keep coming back just to read the comments. I think I have a good character judgment and I feel this group is a good bunch, I'm proud and happy to be getting to know you all. Your all very nice.:flower3:

This was very uncharacteristic of me to write something mushy like this but I mean it.

The CM rate is wonderful, don't get me wrong. It even includes the gratuities! But, safe to say that if my DB sailed on the EB repo, I would rather pay the extra $$$ than risk being left on the dock! :scared1:

You covered all of the bases very well, so..............ditto

How sweet!

I didn't know any of this bunch before I started posting on this thread. In the few weeks that it has been going, I've been having a riot! Everyone has been very friendly and welcoming. I can understand about people feeling intimidated because I did at first too, but once you start reading these posts you get sucked in (in a good way) and have to start responding.

You summed it up beautifully!!! :thumbsup2 I had been a lurker on the boards for about a year before I mustered up the courage to sign up. Then, I continued to lurk for quite some time. It's thanks to this great thread and wonderful group of people I have managed to post over 100 times in the past week! What an incredibly warm group ALL of you are! :grouphug:
