I've been sort of scanning along here, and the concern that people have about getting bumped even though they have a GTY...Is that something that has happened before? I mean I fully comprehend the concept they they overbook, and that they try to estimate the number of ressies that will get cancelled, etc, etc...I just cannot imagine being given a GTY, paying your deposit, and then getting bumped from the cruise! For some reason this whole concept just doesn't seem real!
Very rare read my previous post it is Airline and cruise standard and really not a reason to worry.

You do not need to get a life. We are your life now, for the next 18mo. :lmao:

Luckily, the DIS provides a nice distraction from my boring conference call on Profile 1A Wave 1 Phase 1 TP Validation. I have to listen for an hour just for my five minutes of pertinent information.

What is up with all the rude CM's lately? I realize they may have been overworked and overstressed last week but what's up with it continuing like this? Disney isn't supposed to have rude CMs. :(

It is definately hit or miss lately. The rudest ones that I have encountered have been on the CC line!

I wonder if DCL is not happy about all of the people transferring reservations to travel agents. I suppose I understand the attitude -- you went with a TA so now you have to deal with them -- but I've noticed a general decline in the 'magic' when I deal with DCL employees off the ship. I noted it in my 2006 TR.

Hopfully they are not rude, proffesional practise is if any booknig is with a T/A they do the calls and work for information for you, thats why DCL pays them commsion, it should cut their work as the T/A should be able to cvoer most things.

I personally think the GTY's will not get assigned until just after the 90 day pay up mark.

This isnt anything to worry about just gives DCL the most flexibility in assignment of rooms.

If someone for example has three room requests, on GTY where family would like to be together, they would try to do that, now they know some people will cancel, but they do not know who, so if they assigned a room to you, and the people around you were the ones that cancelled out, you would then block the three room request.

So again it gives them flexibility to move people around on their penciled in lists.

FYI - Each dining room holds 200 guests, so we will be taking over a whole room on early if everyone on the WL gets moved, and 1/2 a one on the late!

I was wondering about that, but am having trouble with the math. 200 per dining room x 3 dining room is 600 per seating. 2 seatings would be 1,200. Could it actually be 400 per dining room?:confused3

Very long day in fact I was in dinner at 6pm, when we went through the last locks and it was dark.

All you could see in Lumieres was the walls of the locks going buy.

WOW!! I had no idea!! That's CRAZY!! It's no wonder that passage through the Canal comes as such a comodity (sp?)!!! (referring to a post I saw about how oil tankers and other ships have paid extra (LOTS extra) to get passage before others) Now that I see that letting another vessel pass through before you could potentially cost you an ENTIRE DAY (which is A LOT of money when it comes to freight being held up!!), it makes more sense that they would pay such a premium to get bumped forward!!

800-449-3380. I spoke w/Diana yesterday, who was sweet, but wouldn't change my dining. My TA did manage to yesterday, and commented that it was already done by DCL. ???:confused3
Wait, I just realized something!
I had contacted DCL thru the website the other day to find out my CC numbers for our family because we never received the kit after the last cruise last May/June. She didn't give me that number you gave me, HOWEVER- she did make mention that she checked our future reservation and that our CC #'s were applied to that reservation. Actually she said:
"In checking your current reservations, your Castaway Club membership
numbers have already been applied. For your next cruise, you will enjoy
the following benefits:"

No wait- that could still be for the Dec 2007 dummy reservation we made when we booked onboard.. it doesn't technically prove that ressie was changed to the Aug 2008 reservation. Hmm, got myself excited for nothing. Guess I'll try to call later. Thanks!

I am totally wrong - today I am not posting anything else to do with numbers!

And I'm thinking even 400 doesn't sound like enough! 400x2= 1200 x2 =2400. There are more on each cruise than that- isn't there? I thought it was 2500-2700 a sailing?

If max is 2700 then it would be 450 per room (I double checked this on my adding machine)

442 seats in each
442x3= 1336 x 2= 2652.. that sounds about right. But what happens when they have 2700 on a sailing (I heard that on another thread?) I suppose they squeeze in a few extra or hope some kids don't eat in the dining room? LOL

UUHHH...Someone please try to remind me not to drink any Kool-Aid that BBB tries to give me! :scared1: :lmao:

I think this might be futile, especially when it starts getting handed around - you won't know that its from BBB!:lmao:

I have already heard of people, using TA's that had gty and received room assignments. TA's are talking about trying to get assigned staterooms (including my own, but that was supposed to happen Sunday and I haven't heard a word about it yet). But my point is that some have already received room assignments who were on gty. You'd think they'd first give room assignments to those where a family is split up in two or more rooms but I guess maybe not... the actual reservations DO have an adult in each room. I just hope we don't have to actually sleep that way. LOL
Although that might not be as bad an idea as I think. DH can snore in the other room but I get the balcony by gosh! (but seriously, it would be a pain to have our rooms far away where we HAD to sleep apart plus all the logistics of getting ready for things in seperate rooms far apart and such.)
