Boy, we sure are going to have quite a few Andrew's on this sailing.

I was the only Andrew in my graduating class of nearly 300 from high school, in fact, the only other Andrew in my school was in 9th grade during my Senior Year. I'm really surprised we have so many here on our cruise meets thread.

My ds is an Andrew....but he generally goes by Drew. Unless he is in trouble!

Welcome FairyGodmother --

You are just the "fairyGodmother" we were looking for! We've done FIRST Lego for 2 years. As homeschoolers, mom may not be the official coach, but we sure do get involved supporting the team. Would love to trade war stories with you!!! Although my DS will be just 14 at the time, I'll be he'll enjoy hanging out with yours (as long as the only driving is on the video game . .. LOL)

There are just way to many cool pirates on this cruise!

Have a super day!

We'll have to get all the Mindstorm kids together as penpals before the cruise. DS9 saved and saved and finally got his set (off eBay). We don't compete - he's still working on the planned robots, and learning how to program. But he's figuring it out fast. I'm sure he'd love to talk to more experienced kids.

BTW: Found an excellent tackle box a WalMart that perfectly fits all the pieces and keeps them organized.

Thanks to everyone for your kind welcomes. I am not savvy with computers, but I will get DH to work on my siggie and such! I am Heather and my husbsnd Andrew and I will be making the repo our third Magic cruise. So with the repo we will be at 29 nights. I have been to WDW so many times I wouldn't know where to begin. We surprised our kids with last week's trip to WDW and the Magic. It is great on video! Only told them we were going to WDW for 2 days then home. Were they surprised when we got to the terminal! Nothing brings me more joy than seeing my kids faces while at Disney! We were able to get our room # because we booked on board and she handed us all of the paperwork. Can't wait to catch up and be a part of this group!

Now don't assume anything from my choosen welcome illustration...

... and on the other hand... if I had illustrated a plank off the side of the ship....

then you might have cause for concern....

Welcome to the madness!

Please post when you find a spare moment ....

So if we were to address our "UK Andrew" as "Andrew" all the time instead of Drew - would it be safe to assume he's always in some kind of "trouble"?

HEY ANDREW!!!....
LAY OFF THE RUM!!!
I think they're onto you finally!!!!

Thanks for the welcome. And yes, I had my fill of Lego's. Actually, would probably be still doing it if my son hadn't had enough. It was like a ful time job for me. And because we were a returning team that changed from Elementary school to Junior High we had no funding to purchase new kits last year from the school so we had to purchase all new sets and then they went and changed the kit this year and there was no money left to start again.
We did manage to take 1st place in the State for Creative presentation 3 years in a row and one year took 1st overall in our district. It is very challenging and the kids were awesome to work with.
I will be glad to share war stories.

That's because Lisa & Andy haven't been onine much today.

Hopefully they'll get us caught up in time for me to see the big pirate before bedtime.

Yea, but once I get caught up here, I will then have to get caught up on my e-mails, by then Survivor will be on, and my laptop will be in sleep mode!!! :lmao:

Ok folks ... off to a meeting, then hopefully home in time to catch some of Survivor, Grey's and ER. Will try to check in later. I'd say "slow down" until I get back, but I KNOW that won't happen :lmao:

AWESOME mascot for the scabbies!

Look out kids, Diane is channeling CaptainCrash!

You folks are such an eclectic lot... fancy words and references are overloading DIS simple pirate here....

... I had to google channeling to be sure of what it meant...

Skeptics' Dictionary said:
Channeling is a process whereby an individual (the "channeler") claims to have been invaded by a spirit entity which speaks through the channeler. The channeling craze began in earnest in 1972 with the publication of Seth Speaks by Jane Roberts and Robert Butts, her husband. They claim that "Seth," a very wise "unseen entity," communicated his wisdom to Jane, who dictated to Butts while she was in a trance. Though Roberts, a somewhat accomplished poet, was obviously very literate and widely read in many religious and occult traditions (including Jung), her advocates portray her as communicating ideas beyond her ability. They take this as proof she was inspired. This is true: Roberts and Butts were probably inspired by the depth of human credulity.

Actress Shirley MacLaine and the ABC television network gave this modern version of ghosts speaking through a medium a modicum of credibility. In 1987, ABC showed a mini-series based on MacLaine's book Out on a Limb, which depicts MacLaine conversing with spirits through channeler Kevin Ryerson. One of the spirits who speaks through Ryerson is a contemporary of Jesus called "John." "John" doesn't speak Aramaic--the language of Jesus--but a kind of Elizabethan English. "John" tells MacLaine that she is co-creator of the world with God. MacLaine, a consummate egotist, becomes ecstatic to find out that she is right about a belief she'd expressed earlier, viz., that she IS God (Gardner, 1987 ).

One of MacLaine's favorite channelers is J.Z. Knight who claims to channel a 35,000 year-old Cromagnon warrior called Ramtha. This preposterous notion has made her famous and wealthy. Some of her patrons pay as much as $1,000 to attend her seminars where she dispenses such wisdom as "[we must] open our minds to new frontiers of potential."

And yes.... I have converted another follower... <chuckles :lmao: >
