FYI - Each dining room holds 200 guests, so we will be taking over a whole room on early if everyone on the WL gets moved, and 1/2 a one on the late!

If I remember correctly Lisa says each dining room holds 400 people :confused3

Rutroh... what happens if we end up with over 200 (early dining is looking pretty close and many are changing off WLE to early dining it appears) that want to be linked together? Doesn't look like it would happen -first 200 get it I guess. :lmao:

It probably means that we will have two dining rooms on early and one whole one on late. People keep joining this crazy bunch of pirates everyday and there a quite a few people who have posted on the main board that they are going but haven't posted on this thread. I think that in time we will end up with around 600 people.

DISREGARD MY MATH - EACH DINING ROOM HOLDS 400 PEOPLE. I'M SWEARING OFF MATH FOR THE REST OF TODAY!

Yeah, I am definitely concerned. Not worried, but concerned. We know there will be cancellations -- we had to cancel the 2005 EB repo right before final payment was due because of school conflicts and there will be others who can't afford it or decide not to spend the money. We had a few diehards cancel out on the 10-day holiday cruise very late -- and these were dedicated DISers who had done the previous one, so it will happen.

So, I figure I won't worry about this for a while. I do wonder if paying off the cruise early would be of any benefit -- would they bump people who hadn't paid early before bumping those who had?
Normally I wouldn't be all that concerned about a cruise being overbooked. But considering so many are coming from DIS and/or CC members... I'm a bit concerned that not as many people will end up cancelling before final pymt as they may have ANTICIPATED would. And if it doesn't happen, someone is going to have to get bumped off the cruise. Not good. :confused3

I just called DCL regarding cabin assignments.

She stated that the GTY have not been assigned yet and that if you are booked thru a travel agent you have to call them and not call DCL because they are not able to assist you. This came from a "RUDE" CM.

You will all be on and in August next year a copy of the navigators like this will be in your stateroom!

Wow, I was just about to ask exactly how LONG does it take to go thru the panama canal and then you answered my question. 12hrs. Wow!

But even CC members and DISers have to cancel sometimes. Like I said, we had one DISer who had a medical problem, another who decided she couldn't afford it do to late-arising financial problems.

Another thing we don't know yet is what is the plan for 2009? Disney may decide to return to LA in 2009 if 2008 sells well and that could make people decide to delay.

There's just too much that can happen between now and 2008 for me to worry, but like I said, I am concerned where normally I wouldn't have given it a second thought. Of course part of that is because this is the only time I have not had a confirmed stateroom after making a deposit.

I really wouldnt worry, DCL have done the repo before and I am sure fewer people did cancel out of that one was the 2005 Repo and this one are special.

Now if they had to bump, I am sure the freinds and familiy of DCL CM's would be first to be bumped off, then they would make 'offers' to some people to see if any one would transfer.

But again do not worry, all this was posted in 2004 for 2005, and it never happened, as mentioned before availability actually came back in the last months.

It was a sea day there are plenty of them, possible a formal night.

In fact it was THURSDAY 25th a sea day, found the Navigator whilst the CC party is not listed on the back the Goofy pool hours were, 6am to 4pm, 7.30pm to 12.00am.

Ah, sea day is cool. Thanks for the info!
See we didn't even know the pool was closed during certain time periods. Needless to say the kids swam WAY less often than we anticipated they would!

You are absolutely right about this point. My brother is a CM and we sailed with him on our first cruise. The CM booking the ressie made that point very clearly

I'm right with you. Just concerned, partly because I ALSO do not have a confirmed stateroom after making a deposit. In fact I don't have confirmation email from the TA nor reservation number either. I emailed them on 2/5 asking for this as I'm sure it was just overlooked (first time I've ever booked with them and not received an email with ressie numbers/etc.- even the last one was gty status because it was a dummy booking onboard and transferred to them and I still got confirmation emails with ressie numbers!) and still have not heard back from them. Disconcerting to say the least.

Very long day in fact I was in dinner at 6pm, when we went through the last locks and it was dark.

All you could see in Lumieres was the walls of the locks going buy.

OK, well things have definitely settled down here at work, so hopefully today and tomorrow I will be able to be more present in this thread!! (Not that this is of any real significance to anyone here, but I will certainly be happier to be able to feed my DIS needs, and to be able to keep up with conversation! :thumbsup2 )

I've been sort of scanning along here, and the concern that people have about getting bumped even though they have a GTY...Is that something that has happened before? I mean I fully comprehend the concept they they overbook, and that they try to estimate the number of ressies that will get cancelled, etc, etc...I just cannot imagine being given a GTY, paying your deposit, and then getting bumped from the cruise! For some reason this whole concept just doesn't seem real!

I am feeling a bit of guilt too about the ease with which I was able to get my reservation...:guilty: After reading more and more people who are having all of these troubles...

Well, I just hope the best for all of you! DCL has been doing this for a while now, and they're pretty good at what they do. I have faith that it will all work out for everyone! :thumbsup2

Maybe if you call CC # and get a nice CM they can look up the info for you and give you the ressie number? It's a long shot, but it can't hurt!

That pool is usually open all day, apart from the sailway party, the Mexican deck party in Acapulco, the CC members party,, and pirates night, my guess Aruba as it was Curacao last time.

I wonder if DCL is not happy about all of the people transferring reservations to travel agents. I suppose I understand the attitude -- you went with a TA so now you have to deal with them -- but I've noticed a general decline in the 'magic' when I deal with DCL employees off the ship. I noted it in my 2006 TR.

What is up with all the rude CM's lately? I realize they may have been overworked and overstressed last week but what's up with it continuing like this? Disney isn't supposed to have rude CMs. :(

So last night after I signed off, I decided to do some research based on something Lisa had posted - that on our manifest we had 122 families in a cat 6 (either assigned or gty) - thre are only 138 cat 6's on the whole ship! This means we have 88.40% of those cabins - WOW!

I thought she said 22- she said 122???
