I'm trying to understand why so many people prefer Ooogie to Not so Scary - NSS has shows, a parade, character meet and greets, and treat trails.
Ooogie doesn't have shows at all, and the character meet and greets don't include autographs, hugs or any one on one at all...

We've never been to WDW, but I'm hearing good things about MNSSHP.

Also....why does MNSSHP get a metal scoop full of candy while we at OBB get a measly 2-3 pieces at each station lol Kidding aside, we might have to check out the other coast sometime for Halloween.

I can't really speak to preference as I haven't attended MNSSHP, but have gone multiple years to OBB. The treat trail villain characters offer interaction from stages, but actual meet and greets absolutely offer one on one interaction. I have had fun "chats" and taken photos with Lotso (yes, smelled like strawberries), all three Sanderson Sisters and Kingdom Hearts Mickey and Goofy, just to name a few. I'm someone who doesn't even usually take character photos, but i tend to do it when attending OBB.

I'm not a particular fan of Villains Grove, but some people do love that experience, too. Again, I wouldn't be able to posit that one Halloween party is better or make any comparison. But as far as character one on ones, they are also available at OBB.

I much prefer the character interactions at Oogie Boogie! I don't need autographs and two hour waits for them, you spend your entire night trying to see characters while we get to see a ton over and over again at OBB. I get to see/interact with characters while I'm on the Treat Trails killing two birds with one stone. I don't want to wait 20 minutes in just a candy line.

Oogie Boogie does have a parade! Not sure where you got that, but it's fantastic!

Villians Grove is one of the best attractions I've ever seen! I have to walk it multiple times a night and I think it is so creative!

And this is coming from someone who lives 10 minutes from Magic Kingdom in Orlando and has done MNSSHP many times and will be flying over twice in September for OBB! It's just superior!

I think the unique nature of the interactive treat trails is what makes OBB a cool event. You can spend a lot of the night going through those lines, getting candy while you are entertained by the performers, and then maybe you get an interaction of your own. There’s a lot of fun and excitement and entertainment value to those treat trails.

As others have covered, there are traditional character meet and greets available, as well as a great parade. Between all that, Villain’s Grove, and rides, there’s lots to do if you’re a first-time OBB guest.

Having said that, I agree that the lack of a show is weird at this point. They’ve been teasing one in surveys for years… hopefully they add something new soon, because I’d say things are getting stale for repeat guests. The WOC they offered one year was kinda boring, but at least it was something? Kinda weird that they created it and then just never brought it back.
