Lisa, I'm going to try and get my onfo to you over the weekend, what size photo can be sent, or if they are too large, do you reduce the size to fit?

You can send anything & I save it for the website to reduce the byte size for the database limits.

I tried convincing DH "at least we got on the ship" and to save $1600 by sticking with the cat 9 ... but noooooo, he doesn't want to risk deck 1 so I'm shelling out more for a cat 7 and giving up the $250 OBC from DCL because the cat 7 ressie isn't our onbaord rebooking ressie. Did I mention I wanted to hurl? Yeah, well, I'll get over it some day.

Oh, and btw, IT'S SNOWING HERE (middle Tennessee). I'm actually THRILLED to death about it. Must be the whole Calif-transplant thing going here.

That is part of the reason for our higher price right now...though it is still more than we have paid for 2 weeks combined on the Magic ever before. There were no 10s left...deck 7 was sold out too, so I passed on the 9s & took an 8.

My mom said she was supposed to leave work at 5am, but her patient's home lost power, so she decided to stay with her patient until daylight. My mom would have been on the road when the tornado hit, and she would have been right in the path of the tornado. My hands are shaking so bad, I can hardly type. This kind of puts life into perspective.

My mom said she was supposed to leave work at 5am, but her patient's home lost power, so she decided to stay with her patient until daylight. My mom would have been on the road when the tornado hit, and she would have been right in the path of the tornado. My hands are shaking so bad, I can hardly type. This kind of puts life into perspective.

I can only imagine how scary this must be for you Andy. Glad to hear that your Mom is safe and sound and that she had that "gut" instinct to stay put where she was a little longer.

Andy, I feel for you. I know how the aftershock sets in. That's how I am as well. DH went back to sleep last night after I was shaken up with the crazy phones and the storms. It was the wierdest thing. All crazy thoughts were going around in my head.Is this a signal for us to get out of the house??
It was wierd. I4 was shut down last night I think it was around your moms area. The pics showed cars on top of cars. Nasty Nasty. Hope your family is able to get the assistance they need.

I know. I didn't want to contribute to the price increase by having 2 ressies, but when I couldn't get thru on the phones I did an online ressie under the mistaken impression they'd transfer the onboard rebooking to the online ressie later. When later came, that didn't happen, they just transferred the online rebooking to the repo cruise giving me two ressies for the same cruise. *sigh*

I just got off the phone with DCL, moved the cat 9 ressie back to Thanksgiving 2007 and moved the deposit monies to the cat 7 repo cruise booking.

So we're now officially in a cat 7 GTY for the EBRC Aug 2008 cruise.

They did start doing gty for rooms AWFUL quick. I would not be surprised if they just started doing gty rooms solely to make things go a little faster and smoother yesterday- so they wouldn't have to try this room, change to this room or that cat because the rooms the customer or TA wanted, etc. That's fine. but I still don't see why they'd need to wait until AFTER pymt in full is made, or worse at the port the day you get on! That's just ridiculous.

I think they might have done just that (assigned GTY to make things go faster). When I first received info about my reservation from my TA on Wednesday, she said I had a cat 6 GTY, but when she went to pay my deposit yesterday she said they had already assigned me to 6050 (a room location I like, so I'm happy!).

Andy --I couldn't get to the computer fast enough to see if your mom was OK. I was gonna volunteer to drive up there if you hadn't heard from her but thankfully it sounds like you have had good news. What a blessing that she stayed.

Prayers and Pixie Dust is needed for my mom's area of Florida. My mom just called and said a tornado went through her area, her home is OK, but my aunt and uncle that live just a few blocks from my mom, suffered damage to their home, my mom also told me that there has been loss of life reported.

Prayers for everyone involved. Glad that your family members are safe.

OMG! I just turned on CNN & have been watching the videos. It is devastating. That early in the morning so many were sleeping and had no idea what was coming.

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! That's not what I was talking about at all. I meant that I don't want to be on deck 2...just like your DH's reasoning. We would have spent less if I could have brought myself to book a 9 but I couldn't so I booked us an 8.
