Well, I can't get in touch with the person who is delivering our letters to the school board and I have two more great letters that need to be read by the superindendant. I am going to drop them at the school board office myself then stop by the store for a few things. DD has been begging for strawberries.

I hope this is incorrect. I am very suspicious about all the GTYs. They came very fast. How can I get a GTY 11 when it was still in Tier 1 pricing?

Well, I was able to access the Cat 4 inventory within moments of it being available on-line (even before the phone CM's had access to their system) and ther were @ 10 Cat 4 cabinsavailable. I couldn't book on-line becuase I had to transfer an exsisting ressie. By the time the CM was able to load the dates (had to shut down and reboot ), all's that was left was GTY. I inquired about a Cat 5 and she pulled up tons of staterooms. I just think the more popular Cat's that got assigned through IC, and since nobody was called before the 31st, there was very little availability to start with because they were still being held by IC.

FWIW, my conversation with the supervisor with regards to what is going to happen with all the GTY rooms went like this; IC is still holding the cabins even if they are refused, or deposits are not paid. All the GTY's booked on the 31st are being sent to IC, with all our preferences for cabin numbers/locations noted, and will be assigned by IC. How long that is going take...who knows . He also said the supervisors were putting all the info together after the phones shut down on the 31st, and there will be tons of cancellations after deposits are due because the same people had reservations/quotes pending with 3 and 4 different TA's under different ressie numbers . I think DCL needs to take some responsibility in that happening. Had they at least gone through the IC list, people would not have felt the need to do that in an effort to get the best price/cabin possible.

Anywho, that was the word about GTY's as of yesterday morn. Things could have changed, and this super was not told yet.

And how are we all this fine morning? I decided to come to work today so I can pay for this TRIP OF A LIFETIME and there is NO WAY I am going to catch up with you all. So far I saw that we all love philly cheesesteaks and soft pretzels, we are going to play musical cabins once we get on board to make sure that everyone is where the need to be, who graduated college whe, (I graduated HS is 1986, graduated 2 yr coll in 2005 and am currently working on a combined bachelor/master which will be finished spring 2008), we have a lot of people from central NY and Philly area, DONOT talk about any TV shows that have aired on the EC until 4 hours after they aired, perhaps those of us with a GTY will have stateroom assignments after deposits are not paid tomorrow, and I think that is it. YIKES!

Well, I better try to get some work done today - our accountant is coming in three weeks to do our taxes and year end statments so I have a lot to get done. I'll check in from time to time today - have fun everyone!

I tried convincing DH "at least we got on the ship" and to save $1600 by sticking with the cat 9 ... but noooooo, he doesn't want to risk deck 1 so I'm shelling out more for a cat 7 and giving up the $250 OBC from DCL because the cat 7 ressie isn't our onbaord rebooking ressie. Did I mention I wanted to hurl? Yeah, well, I'll get over it some day.

Oh, and btw, IT'S SNOWING HERE (middle Tennessee). I'm actually THRILLED to death about it. Must be the whole Calif-transplant thing going here.

Where in Middle Tennessee ??? I lived in Jackson for about 5 years , and its where I met my Sweet Melissa .. So are you cheering for the Colts this weekend cause of Manning ??

My mom said she was supposed to leave work at 5am, but her patient's home lost power, so she decided to stay with her patient until daylight. My mom would have been on the road when the tornado hit, and she would have been right in the path of the tornado. My hands are shaking so bad, I can hardly type. This kind of puts life into perspective.

Andy - TG your mom is okay! They say everything happens for a reason and boy does this put that into perspective!

To everyone else in that area - my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Judy, Happy Ground Hogs Day! Glad your child is better. the last time Kaitlin was sick, I gave her childrens Motrin and 1/2 hour latter she was jumping around!

My mom lives in an "older" (built in 1969) single wide mobile home, so you can only imagine how I felt when I saw the CNN reports from her area. I just heard a live CNN report on the Lake Mack area of Lake County, that's where my mom lives.
