Julie, he's been holding out for almost 20 years. He had Aplastic Anemia when he was 19 and he's been dealing with the side effects of the treatments since 1986:headache: They really didn't know how to treat it back then, he was kinda their guinea pig:rolleyes1
He's lucky to be alive:goodvibes
Since he talked to a friend at work that had his done many years ago he is finally agreeing that he needs it sooner rather than later. We just can't agree on when:confused3 He wants to avoid baseball season since he loves to umpire and I want to make sure he gets a doc experienced with the latest techniques:rolleyes: Slightly different priorities;)

That is amazing. My priorities would be more like yours -- look for a doc you can really trust . . . if you can do that and still not interfere with umpiring, all the better.

I also look forward to Pirates night on the repo, and will be in a (new from the one you saw me in this past summer) pirate's costume, but I don't think I can make it fit into any particular category. Are we still planning the Rocky Horror-style interactive showing of the Pirate's movie? I think that would be tremendous fun, and we could have as many people as want to be involved . . .

I just want to be a bar wench!!!:woohoo:

If there is enough interest to do this , then we can do it a different night then Pirates , which I agree will be better ....I will make the arrangements to do this with DCL myself if there is enough interest...(I will talk to Rachel the CD to get a night and time arranged , And I will Post it on my Cabin Door or figure out someway to get the word out ...Maybe even convince Rachel to print it in the Navigator ) ..

So , you keep a standing count of the interest and let me know and I will take care of the rest ...But everyone please read the script , we did this once before on the Magic and it was good , But I am sure with this band of Pirates it will be rail 2 rail people and it should be Great ....

Do you have influence with Brent just in case it is not Rachel??:confused3

Wow!!!! I understood nothing of what the webmaster said.:sad2:

You luked? Sounds messy! ;)

You found my own special word...it is between lurked and looked!!!:lmao: :lmao: I guess J.R. has not been reading the thread.;)

Last I heard, Pirate night needs to be on a night where we are leaving port. I'll bet it will be in Cartagena. They don't carry the fireworks on the ship and pick them up in port on Pirate night.

I was just on the phone with DCL and they said our schedule is still TBA.

What better place to have it then Cartengena!!!  Pirates still exist there.:scared1:

Johnny Depp lovers -- I just got my Rolling Stone today (by subscription) and he is on the cover looking yummy . . . should be on the news stands soon if not already. I haven't looked inside yet but I'm sure there is an interesting article and more pictures . . .

Did you see who won a Golden Globe Award!!!!!:yay: :woohoo: :yay: About time!!!:cheer2:

Dh is considering -- Governor Swann or Cutler Beckett. I don't know who all the characters are but, I'm assuming those characters are tall and thin is why dh chose them! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think he would make a great Governor Swann!!!!:flower3:

OK, Mike, I will officially start the POTC list. We will assume that every person listed will be bringing at least one family member (although all are welcome) as well:

Got our flights paid for...$500 and change for the two of us. Now, just have to figure out how to get the cruise paid for! ;)

Debi- What did you end up in flights?

Are you an observer or a participant:confused3

We have 4 booked as participants. Youngest DD will only be 8, almost 9, but we think she will be a "go". [/COLOR]

Of course we have to schedule around the TOAL too of course:thumbsup2

One of my last conversations with Rachel was she was pretty sure she would be on the east bound PC cruise , but if its Brent I will talk with him to see what we can do ...

Hi Everyone! Just got home from choir practice. I should be going to sleep, but both DH and I are always hyper when we get back from rehearsal and end up staying up too late. Tuesday's are tough around here!

We just started two new pieces that we haven't sung before, so we are even more hyped up than usual. In case there are any other choral singers out there who are interested, we are working on Faure's Requiem and Rutter's Mass of the Children.

My cats are all wandering around near me and giving me dirty looks - like they think I should be in bed by now :rotfl2: We had a break from choir from the beginning of December until tonight, so I guess they forgot about Monday nights.

Thanks, Diane -- he made it pretty clear that they don't want to limit the length of threads and are looking for other options, so I would say that if we can remain on friendly terms:thumbsup2 this thread will be fine.

If it would help with their servers, I wouldn't have a problem having this thread closed and a part 2 opened. I think it is fun being a part of this huge thread. The opening post could always have a link to this one. I don't think we have a problem being friendly----just look at all this gabbing we do:) :flower3:

Something from Mousesavers that was posted elsewhere:

Using Walt Disney World Tickets at Disneyland

You would have to do an analysis to see if the price you paid for the WDW tickets is worth spending at DL. Plus you will have to go to the ticket booth everyday.

That's funny. I asked Guest Services if I could do that and they said NO. I don't know if the Florida Resident play4 would work with this. Will have to ask the right person I guess.

I am trying to find out if there is any interest in putting together a CD photo (sort of our own PhotoPass CD) of pictures on this cruise. I would put together the CD is there is enough interest. I see it being general interest pictures - the ship, the ports, characters, events, etc. This way I can tap into those that are more skilled photographers than I am (which is just about anybody - my method is to take lots of pictures and hope some of them are good).

I would have everyone interested email me their best pictures after the cruise and I will put together the CD. I don't think it should cost more than a couple of dollars each for mailing, etc.

I am a scrapbooker so I am always looking for more pictures. Let me know what you think.

Is there a way to set up an account on like Photobucket where we can all have access to all the photos and are able to download what we want? Where is Crash when I need a question answered? :lmao:

I've posted bits of this before... when I was 17 my 9 year old brother died unexpectedly. He had recently been diagnosed with cancer. But, he died in the OR during a biopsy. He was the twin of my brother who is coming on the cruise with us.

There were so many well meaning people who told me he wouldn't die. They just really were trying to be comforting. But, it really made me mad after the fact. That has always stuck with me. As a result, I have never uttered those words to anyone.

My kids have experienced the deaths of older relatives, and a few years ago the death of a 5 year old cousin. I've tried to be honest with them. We really don't know why people die when they do, we just know that everyone dies. After my mother died, they wanted to be reassured that I wasn't going to die any time soon. And, based on my younger experiences, I just couldn't bring myself to tell them that I wasn't going to die. So I told them that I wasn't planning on it. It might be semantics but for me it felt honest.

I think my kids just wanted to ask questions. I think they are more afraid of the unknown. So I let them ask what ever they want And, when I don't know the answer I tell them I don't know & I ask them what they think.

Sorry for the long post. I really feel for you. Those are my experiences, for what they're worth.

I think the most devastating was around 10 years ago, the High School was transporting a bunch of kids to Busch Gardens and one of the Football Players had a fatal heart attack. Ironically, it was on I-4 right in front of the hospital across from I drive. Apparently he had an enlarged heart which the family had known about. Those kids were so traumatized.:sad1: My friends daughter was on the bus and it took her a long time to recover from it. So sad.

It's a bit chilly this morning. It is def an oatmeal kind of morning :goodvibes

I will keep track of all who are interested and keep a list on my computer -- as we get closer to time I will coordinate with Todd and ask again about interest . . . Monica, I KNEW you would be there!!!!pirate:

2008 - and yes we are definitely going on this cruise - so it is time to get my act together, and really start posting on this board (I resolve to make the time) and get to know you all before our TOAL in 8 months.

We have booked the GC from the 14th to the 16th - and now we have booked airfare, so the committment has been made   We had a lot of mileage, so we were able to get all 4 airfares for free (well almost free) by transferring some miles. Instead of paying $2,500, it is only costing us around $400 - so that was a great savings that can be used towards the trip.

Now I am able to get excited - even though I will have to work hard for the next 8 months to get ther - when I get there, it will be WELL WORTH IT!

Now I have some reading to catch up on - feeling kind of like a newbie here - but I will catch back up somehow - talk to you all later.
