As far as pirate night goes, would they do it Aruba night if departure isn't until 11:30? Or would they wait till sea night (or do it Cartagena night?)

If we are to go by the WB schedule the Pirate night is held on night 13, which would make it the day after the ship is in Aruba. That is if the schedule is the same for the EB

Just wonder if anyone who was lucky enough to do the panama trip before has any information they could pass on about shore excursions. am getting more confused by the minute and would like to hear anyone,s view on the good and bad ones from personal experience.

Thank you in anticipation.

You know we didn't make it into Cabo and we did Curacao instead of Cartenga and we didn't do PV--so we aren't much help. In Accap. we did the dolphin swim at CiCi waterpark--really enjoyed it although I personally thought the park itself was not kept up well.:)

Well, my broadband is back up and running....

Roger, what a DARLING puppy!!! I want to reach in and give it a squeeze! Name??

I seem to go through "burst" planning. Will spend two days scouting excursions and such and then let it go for a couple of weeks.
I keep a packing list in my computer, so that I remember all the "extra" stuff and toiletries all the time. Even for clothes...it's all the same...the only thing I have to wait to do is to make a specific clothing list for each night once we get closer and I know what will fit and what won't.
I'm just OCD enough to type up the list and take it with me....I keep it in a drawer or on the dresser...so that I remember what I chose to wear each night. Too much rum and I might get all corn-fused!

Yes, I would say you fit in well with the OCD quite well:rotfl2:

Two quick ones,

Can someone PM me the stuff for website (Todd wanted a POC character and then there were another post or two of "we should post that on website). I'm on road a lot this week and don't relish searching backwards this weekend.

I think your right Tom , Since we dont leave Aruba till 11:30 im pretty sure the next night will be Pirate night ...

The last time I went horseback riding was about 45 years ago!!! I never went before and I got a horse named "Old CaseY". He was ready for the glue factory. I was stopped by a Forest Ranger who asked for my horseback riding permit. I thought he was being funny but it was true.:confused3 I was told to turn back and purchase one for 50 cents. Old Casey knew a short cut back to the stables. He decided to cut right through the woods in a full gallop!!!  :scared1: I lost the reins and was holding on to the horese's neck for dear life!!! :worship: We got back to the stable in record time. :rotfl: The stable guys said they never saw "Old Casey" trot let alone gallop in years.:lmao: :lmao: That was the first and last time I will go horseback riding.:rolleyes1

Cheryl, I don't blame you not going again. Adam is allergic to horses, so we never go. I did spend a week at a dude ranch when i was in girl scouts--had a great time.:)

I am trying to find out if there is any interest in putting together a CD photo (sort of our own PhotoPass CD) of pictures on this cruise. I would put together the CD is there is enough interest. I see it being general interest pictures - the ship, the ports, characters, events, etc. This way I can tap into those that are more skilled photographers than I am (which is just about anybody - my method is to take lots of pictures and hope some of them are good).

I would have everyone interested email me their best pictures after the cruise and I will put together the CD. I don't think it should cost more than a couple of dollars each for mailing, etc.

I am a scrapbooker so I am always looking for more pictures. Let me know what you think.

Terri. sounds like a great idea.:goodvibes

I am seriously thinking Pirate Night will not be until after we leave Aruba , so towards the end of the cruise ....And dont forget the Pirates Picture with the Dutchman early Morning on Castaway Cay day ..

Pirate night for the Westbound is on night 13.
If it is the same on the EB it would make Pirate night on the after it docks in Aruba, August 29th

My theory is that they will do it when we leave Cartagena. Tom pointed out that we do not leave Aruba until 11:30pm and we are not going to shoot off fireworks in port. Talking to someone on the ship back in 2005, I remember them saying that they have to shoot the fireworks off after departing the port. They are not allowed due to fire regulations to carry fireworks on board overnight. I don't know if that is true but I have never heard of anyone mentioning that fireworks have ever been shot off on a sea day. This would therefore leave Cartagena. It would be fitting since Cartagena was known more than anywhere else in the Caribbean for pirates.

Last I heard, Pirate night needs to be on a night where we are leaving port. I'll bet it will be in Cartagena. They don't carry the fireworks on the ship and pick them up in port on Pirate night.

I was just on the phone with DCL and they said our schedule is still TBA.

Actually , when we came back on the Med Repo our Pirates night was Night 4 of 6 days at Sea ...So the fireworks being held overnight has nothing to do with it ...

I'm willing to send pictures, but it really would be better to mail you a CD with my pictures. I take high resolution photos and have a hard time emailing more than one or two at a time.

FYI - we did this on the 2006 DVC Member Cruise - it was a much smaller group - maybe 10 families or so contributed and we ended up with 5 DVDs of pictures - of couse we did not edit the pics - everyone sent what they wanted to share. We also then did (still in the process of completing) a circle journal with a group of us as well.

OF course it is great to get pics from someone elses view - you tend to be in pictures then!!! and not just behind the camera.

Johnny Depp lovers -- I just got my Rolling Stone today (by subscription) and he is on the cover looking yummy . . . should be on the news stands soon if not already. I haven't looked inside yet but I'm sure there is an interesting article and more pictures . . .

You are right! So we won't know until they publish the schedule. I would still guess the night before Castaway Cay or so . . . At any rate, if we get enough interest in the participatory POTC we will try to get that another sea day evening, not pirate night.pirate:

We're confirmed for the Jolly Pirates. pirate:
I received my confirmation today.

See you there, then! :cool1: Roger, have you been keeping track of who will be on the Jolly Pirates that morning? Then closer to time we can contact them and ask to be in the same ship . . .

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
If the guys ever want to do something on their own on Cabo or Aruba, you should think about a mother-daughter ride with Kelly. Some friends of mine were just in Hawaii and did that (what is it with guys not liking horseback riding nowadays? weren't all the cowboys in fact BOYS???):rotfl2:

:confused3 :confused3 I don't know what happened. Darren likes watching Westerns:rolleyes1

We are on the Jolly Pirate in Aruba:woohoo:
Still hoping for BOB in Cabo:rolleyes:

Well, DS8 has won and DH has agreed to do the zip line! I will be an non-participant! I have sent in the request for the 1PM time - we'll see if it is still available... I did sent them an email yesterday asking about what happens if the ship doesn't make it to PV - they replied that they would give us a refund in that case.

If we get the 1PM time, I will be joining you as an observer - I bet we can have a good time without hanging from a wire!

Pamela (pdarrah)

Their cancelation policy is pretty fair. They will accept a doctor's note to cancel if less than 3 days prior:)

I'm looking forward to be an observer now:goodvibes

Well, Tom31B suggested that guys don't want to horseback ride because of Brokeback Mountain!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Does Darren's dislike predate that movie????

At least we will be together on Jolly Pirates -- that will be terrific.
