Hint #2........This is a dead giveaway, Tom Hanks played the lead in this movie's title.

They called you GUMP?? Or Andy Gump? :lmao: Why is Andy Gump ringing a bell with me? Was it an old radio show....personality...tv show...???

Okay...I'm probably way off base, but my brain is still not functioning and I'll blame it on overeating yesterday. ;)

Happy Anniversary!

Just drop the 55 at the very end...................Andy Gump that's the nickname my aunt gave me after I was born, she also gave my sister the nickname of Tinker.

Yup, Andy Gump. Don't know why my aunt starting calling me that. My mom said the first time my aunt saw me, she said, "There's my Andy Gump" it stuck, and that's what I had to live with...................

There. All ketched-up.

No shopping for me today. They'd have to pay ME to go out there with those crowds. Even if I had two good feet.

I slept in and did a little laundry and was working on the Christmas cards till I decided to check in over here.

I'm also relieved to know I wasn't losing my mind. I had heard it before. Andy Gump was a comic strip character from 1917 to 1959. And there were spin offs on TV. Now instead of being crazy, I'm just plain OLD for remembering that. :sad2:

Thanks Rog, you made my night...........this is me right now............:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

To my Secret Mickey - THANK YOU! I love the travel neck pillow - particularly after the whiplash last week! The Ghiradelli chocolates are delicious - I love the carmel filled ones. :thumbsup2 :goodvibes :)

I sent my Secret Mickey out on Wednesday (a little later than I planned, but the prior week problems put me behind...) so hopefully, it will arrive any day.

We did not do any black friday shopping - unless you count going out and cutting down our christmas tree. Actually, we got 2 - one for the living room and one for our "back room" that is off our kitchen. The living room tree is the "main" tree and the back room tree is my blue/white/silver tree. I like having a "theme" tree but can't give up all our traditional ornaments that don't fit the theme. Both trees are up in their stands, but we haven't started decorating yet.

Thanksgiving was out at my grandmothers home - since she is 99, we brought most of the food with us. I made a pumpkin pie, DH made a sweet potato thing and my parents bought a pre-made meal at Meijers. We were all pleasantly surprised by the pre-made stuff and will probably do it that way from now on! Grandma made the Cranberry Ice (a long family tradition).

I will try and stop by chat later tonight - I will miss next week since we will have a choir rehersal (concert next Saturday). We are singing Handel's Judas Maccabeaus - definitely not as well known as Messiah!

you think?....this means we're "long~winded"? :wizard:

Maybe just a little long-winded!!!!:flower3:

Wow, it's nice to hear a story like that these days!

We are going to see Enchanted tomorrow . . .

I went to see "This Cristmas" tonight ( I wanted to start to get into the Christmas mode) and the lines for Enchanted were long!!! It was just a sweet movie!!!

So you do know what it usually is like watching the parade outside! We couldn't believe that we weren't freezing yesterday. It was a real gift. Not that we don't always go even when it is cold, but it makes it a lot easier walking home across the park afterwards when you can feel your feet!

I would love to see pictures of your kids skating in Rockefeller Center. When mine were younger we always went to have "breakfast with Santa" at the Rock Center Cafe. Santa would stop by and visit your table (like a character breakfast at Disney!) and then afterwards you had tickets to skate in the rink, where a suspiciously different looking and much thinner Santa also skated with you!

I took my two youngest (13 and 10) on our annual trip to see Santaland at Macy's this morning. This was the first year that my 15 year old decided she'd rather sleep in . . .

I would love to see the Christmas parade in person!!! :cloud9: At least we have a Macy's here now.

Ya know what? I just realized all this shopping and I didn't buy any gifts. Everything I purchased was for ME. But all I have left to get is something for my parents. On one hand it's nice to be done this early. But on the other hand, I'm sure I'll get sucked in by the last minute sales.

I went to J C Penney, Disney Store, Bath and Body works, K & B toys, Kohls, Menards,H&M clothing,Macy's and was home by 8 a.m. :woohoo: :woohoo: I think I am getting to old for this power shopping considering I was all done buying my presents since last March. :sad2: :lmao:

Hint #2........This is a dead giveaway, Tom Hanks played the lead in this movie's title.

That was the hint that gave it away.:yay: :yay:

Whew what a day. We didn't go out shopping until after 8, but still managed to get a lot. Got my grandson the Fisher Price pirate ship for half price ($40). I even managed to find a few things for the cruise on clearance, plus my 15% off coupon. A pair of capris and some shorts for less than $10 each. Then I talked DH into getting me a black and gold wrap for formal night (50% off). I will acted surprised Christmas morning. That was just at Kohl's. We only waited in line about 20 minutes (and that is when I found the clearance items).

Then we went to Target for DVDs. Not so great, they were out of most everything I wanted - Ratatoulle and Monk. I did manage to get my Mom "The Devil Wears Prada". And we picked up the Polaroid video camcorder. It is a very inexpensive one, but we had a Sony Camcorder we got last Christmas and DH left on a table at Epcot. So I decided this was good enough for short videos and it takes the same memory card as our digital camera.

Then we got home and our refrigerator went haywire. It is a side by side with the bottom freezer and the ice dispenser. Well all the lights started blinking and the ice dispenser starts clicking open and closed. I called for repair and someone will be out this morning. That is why I have been up since 5 AM, the kitchen shares a wall with our bedroom and it was driving me crazy. It doesn't do it all the time, it just seems to cycle about every 20 minutes. But it is really enoying.

Then this afternoon I have to babysit the grandson so DD can work. We may make a gingerbread house. She works at Starbucks and won't get off until 11 PM. And I have to get to JoAnns this morning where my other DD works to pick up some gifts for my SIL. So I guess DH will be waiting for the repair man.

I will need another 4 day weekend to recover from this weekend.

Is 6:30 AM too early for a turkey sandwich? We had to have pizza last night, but it is turkey again today.:)

Well it sure sounds like some of you were able to get some bargains yesterday.

I don't think I want to cruise the Arctic waters:scared1: I am glad all those people got rescued.:sad2:
