g'mornin' pirate:s.

Gosh, I'm gone for a week or 2 and I come back to a PM box full of snowballs and pickles! Too funny.

I'm still alive. We've had a crazy coupla weeks which didn't help my DIS time, but the biggest problem is that the power cord for my laptop stopped working. I always Dis on the couch while watching TV so I can be quasi social. Right now my only option sitting in the den upstairs.

Two weekends ago, I shot photos at DS9's 2 hockey games - add that to the WDW trip photos and I had more than 600 photos to edit. There's a chunk of computer time! I shoot pics of all the kids so the parents can buy them on-line. Rules are that you have to have coaching card to be in the team box during games and since I have one I can shoot from the good spot - most other parents can't. And well, framkly, most other parent's don't have 3/4 a degree in photojournalism! I spent a long time wanting to be a sports photog when I grew up, and no I am...sorta.

My dad and his girlfriend were here for a visit last weekend, so we did some tourist-y stuff. He laughed at all of his tuition money for photojournalism school led to me giving away photos for free to my kids teams!

Twice in the last 2 weeks I have had to bail out my washing machine by bucket. Not pretty. I think it is fixed now. Something was blocking the dain pipe for the washing machine, dishwasher & kitchen sink. Just in time for Thanksgiving!! UGH! My in-laws are here now (guess why I don't mind hiding in the den...). We had a nice holiday and an excellent meal if I do say so myself.

I'm going laptop power cord hunting today, so maybe I'll be back to my normal Dis time soon.

OOHHHH! And I got a Wii! TrU.com last week! That is all Santa is brining this year!

We're the opposite this year. Linda's working 7AM to 7PM at the hospital. I'm going to take the kids in to my work to finish some things up, since Saturday is my last day at that job!!!!

We'll have a small Thanksgiving dinner at 8:30 tonight. Tomorrow will be our family day, since we're all off from work and school. We're going to decorate for Christmas. b:santa:

Let me know what you think of Enchanted. We want to take the kids to see it.

Todays' the last day? Well... we can only presume congratulations are in order Mike!

And as for things here in Boston... the drivers have been surprisingly nice - in fact - the California drivers have been as testy as the few pointy minded Bostonians I've encountered on the road. So - we did in fact hit BOTH the New England Zoo and the Childrens Museum yesterday. Plus here are a couple pictures from the past 4 days of travel and visits to Boston.

He's really beautiful, Crash! Makes me want to hold a baby . . .

I'm glad you've enjoyed Boston -- one of my sisters lives there and it's a lovely city.

We saw "Enchanted" this morning and really enjoyed it.

Happy shopping everyone!:) :) :) :) :) :)

Thank You Julie,

It's really been a beautiful visit. Altough we didn't see any snow - the trip feels like a relaxing "lite" holiday visit. Yesterday we were zig zagging through the city enroute to the zoo and my BILs' car ahead of us was blowing thorugh the golden leaf strewn streets - and the trees are all a riot of autmn like colors - added with the sharp chill air - and really there so much to enjoy. Including the wonderfully pleasant time with close family. Especially the pleasure of sharing in the new babys' arrival. He is SOOOOOO tiny! And such a good baby.

Over lunch today I informed my BIL that we'll be having a number of private functions on the cruise. I described the Pirate party costumes, the pajama party, Secret Mickey gift exchanges, ice cream eating contest, likely cocktail cabin parties, the deck 7 secret verandah cordless blender parties (maybe) ... and the other usual things - like the Palo functions we'd like to gather for, the Palo brunches, and other consideratons common to cruising.

As a result - I'm not sure he will get into pajamas or pirate garb - but he did suggest we modify the ice cream eating contest to be a child and parent eam event. TO which I reminded him that not all embarked enthusiasts are traveling with young ones. So we would not want to exclude anyone from joining the fun. and I do believe his spouse will don pirate garb and pajamas with the reast of the crazy folks among us.

So, what's left is barely 24 hours for us here before we have to check in at Logan. Oh well... maybe our flight will be oversold and they'll take us as volunteers - then we can hang out another nite IF the next flight is not too tough to make on Monday! :confused3 If we could only be so lucky, eh? So now all I have to wince at is the notion of going home with MORE then we ariveed with. Alicia has all this junk we gotta bring back! I wonder if she knows how much she reallyhas acumulated here? Maybe we'd be beter off shipping it home?

I'm also relieved to know I wasn't losing my mind. I had heard it before. Andy Gump was a comic strip character from 1917 to 1959. And there were spin offs on TV. Now instead of being crazy, I'm just plain OLD for remembering that. :sad2:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gumps

I was thinking I also had heard the name. Then I remembered it was a cartoon character as well.

Looks like everyone has done some shopping. Mine today was for me. Bealls had their additional 50% off their clearance. So I was lucky to find alot in the 70% off racks and then the addtl 50% so I scored pretty good today. The store was empty. I was told the mall was pretty quiet as well. I guess the rush was yesterday. I really don't know what we are doing with the kids this year. Quite frankly they have almost everything they could want.

Tom, I enjoyed your pictures. Braedon is so sweet.:goodvibes

Safe travels tomorrow:)

Alicia cooks a PERFECT TURKEY every time. I'll have her send you her secrets after we get home. Just get her a MICKEY BAR (no sprinkles) on the ship...OK? That is ... only IF you try the recipie and it works (assuming you followed the directions).

OK... we;re off for a final dinner - a local Chinese restuarant where they serve lobsters cheap - but otherwise do everything else great too!

Gotta run!

Thanks again!

from your pals Tom & Alicia

Got it today.......with the unexpected surprise  ....Thanks Tom & Alicia

Thanks Secret Mickey!

I got my gift card for Coldstone Creamery in the mail yesterday! Since I have the world's biggest sweet tooth, it will come in handy. In fact, the timing is perfect. Today was my last day of work at one of my jobs. I enjoyed it, but it was really getting to be too much with school and the other job, and Linda's schedule and the kids' school and sports schedules. If we weren't there so late today, getting some last things finished, I would have taken the kids for ice cream today to celebrate. We'll probably get some on Monday or Tuesday! So thanks again!!!!

Wow..........was just lookin at the join dates for some of you chatty people......Looks like I'm one of the old timers around here..........But nobody out posts Andy..........nobody !!!! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Mark pirate:

Thank you Secret Mickey!!!!

I love the slippers and the Reeses Peanut Butter cup Christmas Trees (what's left of them ;)) have been hidden away for me to enjoy next week while at work.
