Hi everyone!

Manic day her. DH has been away for 10 days now & I'm starting to struggle abit. Anyway, he sent some piccies & I thought I'd share. Allegedly this trip is work & I grant that some of the stops were not high on my list of must do places but were certainly high on the list of "why do we send our troops there", but what he sent makes it look more like a jolly. First is a pic of DH himself with the Sydney harbour bridge growing out of his (:rotfl: can't work out if that's intentional or not). Second is the Sydney Opera house at night & finally the Himalayas.

Aside from that, does anyone know )or can hazard a guess) as to whether there will be a tropical night as well as the formal, semi formal & pirate nights? Have seen some great hawaiin/tropical shirts, but it's the only time DH would wear it, so trying to work out if it's worth splashing the cash!!

The pic with the bridge growing out of his head cracked me up! LOL!

On the 10nt we had a Tropical night. Here's a pic of my 3 oldest (at the time 26ds, 23dd & 15dd) at the Tropical night deck party!

That looks like really hard work to me, he will need a holiday after that.

I need a bit of help from the California folks.

Any opinions/experiences using Amtrak to get fro DL to the San Diego Zoo?

The schedule and prices look great. The ride is only 2 hours and 6 minutes. I plugged in a late July date and the price was only $32.40 each way.

Since I can't drive (I'm working on it) renting a car isn't an option. We'll have to do a charter bus service or Amtrak. We'd both prefer the train.

I did a search on the Disneyland boards a came up with a few post about this, but they are all from a few years ago.

How many days are you staying at Dland before the cruise? A lot of times, there is an option to catch a bus at or near some of the hotels in the area, to go to other attractions, like the zoo. As for how to go about checking in to this....my mind is mush right now...so I'm not sure.
I wonder if a call to Guest Services would help?

1st- Happy Birthday Angelina!!

Secondly, I have decided I must have a white noise machine and a projection clock by this cruise.
In looking online for the clock I am seeing several Atomic Clocks that project. Sorry if this is a stupid question but.... if the clock is set by the Atominc Clock in Colorado, will it work all the way on our cruise? I know I can set it, I was just wondering if anyone knew if it would do it automatically.

PHL to LAX, non-stop $144/person, Sat the 16th of August 08

good or no good?

That would be very good! Non-stop for $144 (before or after tax)?

Just to give you a better handle on airfare, most airlines are about a 330 day window, but some are longer and some shorter

This is where some of the majors sit now:

Airline.........Booking window....8/16 arrival....9/1 return
American..............329 days....9/22/2007....10/8/2007
Delta..................331 days....9/20/2007....10/6/2007
Continental..........337 days....Booking Now....9/30/2007
Northwest..................-....Booking Now....Booking Now
US Air................334 days....9/17/2007....10/3/2007
United................331 days....9/20/2007....10/6/2007
Airtran..............303 days....10/18/2007....11/3/2007
Frontier.............331 days....9/20/2007....10/6/2007

Northwest from PHL to LAX with 1 stop $704
Continental same flight is $552

Neither is a good price.

Hey Debi,

I was searching the net for pirate costumes (instead of doing homework...shhh!) and came across this. I thought of Harley!

It might make a good freak flag for you. Your very own Jolly Harley!

WOW, before I even read the text, I saw the picture and immediately thought of Harley. Debi's gonna love it I think.

I don't remember a tropical night on the Med Repo, but I'll check the Navigators.....if I can remember where I put them all :rotfl:

I would say no unfortunatel. A lot of times during a repo, you are not necessarily on the same time as the nearest land. In the Navigators they warn you to go by ship's time not port's time.

Yes, I think they did. I remember because it was a night of a buffet up on deck nine, and due to the weather, they canceled and rescheduled the next night which put both deck parties and buffets 2 nights in a row. They had one for the Pirate party, but for us (WB repo), they also had a Tropicalifragilistic deck party and buffet as well. HTH

I wanted to say hi everyone. I just back from WDW and the free dining, and had a blast! Looks like it is getting time to turn my attention over to the big PC cruise!

We'll be there for a week before the cruise.

We are hoping to hit US, San Diego Zoo, both Disney parks, and do a tour of LA.

Last winter I found a company provides shuttle service from the airports as well as shuttles to the major parks.

The price wasn't too bad since you could pick the number of shuttle days you wanted.

I may book the shuttle for the LA tour and US. I just think we'll enjoy the train more than the bus for the San Diego day.

I'd say go for the train when you can. You'll be more on your own schedule. Yes, you have to make sure you at least make the last train. But with busses/shuttles, you're told when to get picked up. I prefer to play it more loose.

The train's fun. But what I learned that for myself, Amtrak is not like a commuter train. It wobbles and sways more and I get motion sickness. Now I always take dramamine the night before if I'm taking Amtrak anywhere. Haven't done that particular portion though.

a adventures by disney backstage magic will start aug 12 and end aug 17 which is perfect for people on this cruise. it is to much for me they want 2400dollars a person so i will not be doing it, but it will be perfect for people with some extra money on this cruise

I sent a note to my TA at Dreams (Debbie Lasher) and she has WLed us for Capt.'s Dining. I explained to her that I had met many wonderful people here on the boards and want to join in the fun. She suggested that I either send her a confirmation # or Name of DISer and she will link us to them for seating. If anyone would like to help me out,you can pm me and either I'll give you my info to email her or vise versa. Whatcha' think?
