For our 25th, I bought the Romance Package Stateroom Gift. I was a pretty, metal "basket that included a box of Godiva chocolates,a very nice, silver metal, 8x10 picture frame and 2 quality, matching DCL robes. I want to say it was around $80.00, I know it's still on the DCL website.

Found a picture of it (thanks to Andy). It's item in the middle.

Thanks for the info Debi. I'll probably pick up some sort of gift basket. I was hoping for something like Shirley's baskets from The Perfect Gift. I know she researched vendors in LA back in 2005, but didn't feel comfortable recommending anybody. I'll have to see what I can find when we get closer to the cruise.

The secret Santa sounds great. Count me in.

It really was great to get the latest newsletter. Thanks.

I haven't been on lately so playing ketchup. It has been a tough week. My dad passed away on Sunday and the funeral was today. The board has been a great diversion this week. Something to keep my mind off all that is going on around here. I feel the need to share with all of you fellow cruisers, even if I don't post too often. I usually get on a couple of time a day to read all the posts. (Shh, mostly when I have a lull at work.) I feel I know all of you and look forward to meeting you in person.

Now if I can figure out how to post all those great pictures. I have gotten as far as signing up at Photobucket.

Terri

Terri, So sorry to hear of your loss. Please accept our condolensces.

Mike, DOn't worry about the loss of REAS... I'm sure they'd still have some type of rainforest pass and if you want the rose petal turndown...I'm sure one of us pirates could arrange something for each other;)

AS for breakfest, just order room service for the next day.

I'll probably end up saving money and just get a Rainforest Pass on the days that we'll use it. I'm sure we won't go everyday anyway.

DS calls my mom Nana and my MIL Oma (German for grandma). I called my dad's mom Grandma and my mom's mom Amo (Oma backwards).

We plan on making use of room service for coffee and tea every day of the TOAL - it's a great way to start your day and add some fruit and one of those bakery basket things and you're set until you go to one of the restaurants or perfect for breakfast if you have an early excursion.

My oldest DS's favorite thing about his first cruise was ordering chocolate milk and donuts from room service to eat out on the verandah each morning. And I agree, I need my room service coffee to get me up enough to go to breakfast for more coffee.

Sorry to hear about your dad, Terri. :grouphug:

You had better practice your picture posting before the next Photo Scavenger Hunt. :rolleyes1

Everyone have a great evening and a wonderful Thursday:goodvibes

Diane, how's that thesis coming?:teacher:

Wow this appears to be a very busy group. I think this cruise is still sold out. Do you all think any spots will open up at a certain point?

I do know someone who had a travel agent call there was a cat 4 open. Not sure if you want to pay the price.:rolleyes1

I am so sorry for your loss.:grouphug:

When Tom, alias Crash, comes back to town, he has great directions to post your great pictures. If I learned, anyone can.:goodvibes

Not the website e-mail (I use a different list), but apparently Comcast blocked it. I have had several e-mails and pm from people with Comcast e-mails saying they didn't get it.

Anyone else who didn't, pm me or send e-mail, it will go through if I send it one by one.

Oh doh! So much for my detective work! :rolleyes1 I didn't realize it was my stupid comcast preventing me from getting it. I'm sorry you're having to go through the trouble of sending it one by one....but I'm sure glad I got it! Thanks! I really don't know how to thank you enough for all you do!

Years ago when I worked for a local tv station the weather girl would on occasion ask me what the knees said and every once in a while she would give the forecast and then say that one of the staff's "knee" agreed and those were the days that she was 100% on the mark ;). Today that weather girl has job on the Weather Channel!

Wow that's awesome! I bet you have some stories! ;)

Everyone have a great evening and a wonderful Thursday:goodvibes

Um I actually read it yesterday. Didn't type a thing, but I looked it over & thought about what needed to be added. :surfweb: Does that count? :confused3

Sadly I didn't get to it today. I had to food shop & then a friend of mine dropped by & of course we talked for a couple of hours & after that I cooked broccoli, chicken & ziti for dinner & then I made peanut butter cookies & then I had to do the dishes & drive DD to piano lessons. Yes I am the queen of excuses! :rolleyes1

Keep reminding me! One of these days I'll be able to tell you I finished it. Hopefully long before the cruise!

Lots of great news around here today. Most of this has been know for a while but some interesting changes were announced today for CA. Midway Mania will be open next June for all of you to enjoy. Construction has been going on for quite awhile now and this was from the previous budget. The construction that was announced today won't start until after the Christmas season and will not be completed until 2011. So you all will have to come by on your way to Hawaii, like Paula mentioned. I heard today that they will be adding a Little Mermaid ride, Mickey Philharmonic, Cars Land (with and E-ticket ride)

and redo of many existing areas.

For all of you who sent prayers and best wishes,

THANK YOU. Jack anf family.:yay:

Debi--I couldn't find the pic that I scanned in to my old desktop computer, but the pic of the knee below is just what my left knee looks like after having the partial knee replacement. If only one side of your knee is bone on bone, this is the way to go!!!

partialkneereplacement.jpg

I'm sure that will be my next step. When I had my right one worked on in 90's, the surgeon told me then "You have nice knees for a 60 yr. old!" I was 40 at the time. He told me that eventually I'd need replacement surgery but didn't want to do it yet,too young. Then I had it scraped again in '05. That was followed with a series of "Rooster Shots" The medication is made from the comb of a rooster. It involves inserting a large needle into the knee joint, 2 or 3 times. Had to do this for like 3 or 4 weeks. I swear they had to "peel me off the ceiling" every time he put the needle in. :scared1:

Can I dis on my crackberry...ummm blackberry?

Yes you can!!! :cool1: I figured that out a while back (30,000 or so posts).

A few pointers though:

  • When engaged in a pirate: run during a particularly boring meeting shouting either "#*@&# swabbie/wench" or "Oh yeah! Oh yeah! I got the pirate: " don't go over well.
  • It can be terribly slow to load.
  • If anyone is looking over your shoulder, make sure none of Crash's more "innocent" images are showing.... explaining why you are looking at handcuffed feet being tickled... you get the point.

Hey I have that comic on my fridge! :goodvibes

I really should head down the hall...it's 3 AM. ;)

Gee I thought I was the only one who stayed up till ungodly hours...well except for Crash of course! ;)
