Great picture Cheryl!! I will be sure and order at least 1 next August:goodvibes

Thank you Roger and Sara for the great pictures of Disneyland.

Really enjoyed them! Thanks for posting them:thumbsup2

Our feelings exactly Stacey. Our annual passes start working again on Sunday, so we will be there for rope drop. I will try to take some general photos, seems most of my pictures are of my girls and characters. :confused3 We will be eating at Goofy's Kitchen for dinner so we will get some pictures of the food selections.

We will also be going to Wicked on Saturday so we have a busy weekend ahead of us. Next week the kids head back to school.

Enjoy your weekend Roger. I wished we lived close enough to one of the parks so we could visit more often. Enjoy Wicked too--we wanted to see that in NY and it was sold out while we were there:goodvibes

Morning all!

Haven't been on in a few days, had the show in South Jersey last w/e, it went alright, but it was more of a stampers show than scrapbooking. We also spent the day at Arlington National Cemetery on Tuesday. My SIL's father was a Major in the Army and he was buried there with full military honors on Tuesday, it was a very long and emotional day.

Today is my last day of work before we head to Cancun on Saturday. Tomorrow, I get to spend the day at the spa (a Christmas gift from DH) and the girls get massages. Yes, I have been a weather hound for the last week, keeping an eye on Dean. TWC has been my very best friend, and thank God it took a southerly route and did not hit Cancun or Cozumel. We are staying at Club Internacional de Cancun through DVC, so I called DVC yesterday (just for piece of mind), they put me on hold, called the hotel, and the hotel sustained no damage, and Cancun is running business as usual, so we are psyched. :cool1: :cool1: I am ready for margaritas on the beach :woohoo: :woohoo:

I have to get ready for work, when I get to work, then it's time to play ketchup from the last few days.

Be back later!

Debi
It sound like your Tuesday was rough, so sorry.
:goodvibes Debi enjoy your day at the spa and trip!!:goodvibes

ANDREW.....how do you find out when the ship's photographers will be taking pictures of people on their balconies??
I tried looking at the Navigator and don't see anything about that.

We have our banners and will want to be sure to be out there.

Actually my first experience of this was on Princess cruises going through the Panama canal, they did it on my first transit, getting off the ship and the ships photographers taking random pictures of us, so for our second transit on the Disney Magic, I was all geared up, I expected them, we were waving from our verandah and I had a Union jack up. (Note Flags are now banded by Cpt Tom).

Its a great opportunity for shutters to make some money so they will do it, In the Med the shutters staff really excelled themselves they were everywhere, we went on private tours but they picked us out, once i asked how as we didn't have our KTTW cards showing, they said -easy, the kids name bands from the kids club.

They took pictures in Pompeii, Monte Carlo, Rome, Florence.

So they will be taking pictures of us on the Magic, just 'wave' and ensure they see you, even call them, they want to sell pictures so if you are keen they respond hoping for a sale.

I loved your picture on the verandah from the last canal crossing Andrew! We really want one like that. Thanks for the tips- we'll be sure to watch for the Shutters photog's.

We will also be going to Wicked on Saturday so we have a busy weekend ahead of us.

I loved Wicked. I saw it in San Francisco before it opened on Broadway (and a couple of days before DD was born) with a couple of girlfriends. I wish they hadn't changed Fiero's intro song (I *understand* why they changed it, but I loved the "Which Way's the Party?" song). DH hasn't seen it, and I keep thinking about getting tickets & surprising him with them down in LA, but that means finding someone to watch DD (and the dog) for the weekend and a bunch of other logistical issues.

Enjoy it!

DW wants to see Wicked in the worst way. It toured through Philly, but we weren't able to make it.

A BIG thank you to all who are sharing the pics of DL and the cruise ports!!! I am totally enjoying them! (And secretly hoping this puts my oldest son more in the mood to go on this cruise!)

Roger, not too many of food selections!!! :sad2: You are all killing me. Have a great time at the park and the play. Pictures are almost like being there in person.

You probably can't answer this but what about during the photos thru the canal? We can't have banners from the verandahs?

You are not going to get out of making a banner that easy!!! :rolleyes1 I will furnish verandah and you furnish huge banner!!!  :thumbsup2

How old is he? How many DCL cruises has he gone on?

Last Sept our oldest (at the time he was 26) was a total jerk about the trip -- not so much to our face but, he let his sister (23 at the time) know how unhappy he was at being forced to go on 10nt DISNEY cruise! LOL!

Well he had such a GREAT time that he now tells all of his friends that it was the best trip EVER! :rotfl: :rotfl: micmse2003 and her dh can tell you what a great time he had! :rotfl2:

Our kids were 26ds, 23dd, 15dd, 8ds & 5dd on the last criuse and there wasn't a bad moment for anyone! :thumbsup2

Wow. all I can say is you don't look old enough to have a 15 year old let alone a 26 year old.
Beautiful!!!!

POOR Baby! How could he have such HEARTLESS parents! Wanna adopt a more appreciative kid? :rotfl: :rotfl:

WELL...I already have our banner, and it WILL at least be on the verandah on the day that we pass through the canal. That was the whole idea.

I think you're right, Andrew, if we put it up in the morning, then it probably won't be a problem as long as we take it back down that afternoon or evening.

Imagine my horror (and DCL's) when we arrived in Barbados for the very first time ever, and someone had all their undies on a line on their verandah!! It didn't make for the best showing.

Hi Everyone! We're back from our soggy long weekend in Wisconsin - well, we actually got back late Tuesday night, but I was swamped with stuff to do yesterday and spent a bunch of today on "ketchup". It rained, misted, fogged, poured and drizzled on us all weekend. There were occasional moments of just heavy overcast when we got out of the cabin - but definitely NOT boating, swimming, hiking weather!

My parents drove up Tuesday before we left and kept DS8 with them there. Fortunately, they had a good weather day yesterday (of course, DH & I weren't there!) but it was pretty overcast/drizzly again today.

We've had HUGE storms here today - I hope all the other Chicagoland DISers are OK. We have been lucky - lots of trees down near us, but all ours are OK and we even have power (but no cable). It took me about 45 minutes to drive the 10 miles home from work. DH took nearly 2 hours (his normal comute is about 35-45 minutes)

What can I say. Soulmates and whatnot.

Wow - I didn't even know Univ of Ill was a "party school"! I spent 2 years there - but I was in the college of Engineering and had a VERY full schedule. DH did a little partying during his 2nd year (he is 1 year behind me so we only overlapped 1 year) but back then - about 20 years ago :rotfl2: - Southern Illinois was the serious party school.

What is funny is that the 2nd college I attended (I managed 3 in 5 years for my undergrad) and the one where I got my Masters, is in the same conference as Wheaton College. Defintely not a "Dry" school like Wheaton. My next door neighbor went to Wheaton. Did you know THE wardrobe that C.S. Lewis owned when he wrote the Narnia books is at Wheaton college?

On this Tuesday, one year ago, the Magic was docking at Costa Maya, Mexico. This morning at 3am local time, category 5 Hurricane Dean, with winds of 165mph, was making landfall near Costa Maya. Here are a few of our memories from last year at Costa Maya.

I so hope Costa Maya (and the little town of Mahajal) are OK. I tried googling for info, but there doesn't seem to be much yet. We visited on one of DCL's first few stops there - it was the year hurricane Ivan took out Grand Cayman and they changed the Western to go to Costa Maya. We saw a little of the town when we took school supplies to the Kindergarden and it certainly didn't look like it could stand up to even a Cat 1 hurricane.

Wow we do have a lot in common! Notice my DS is wearing a turtle shell on his arm, a lei around his neck, a police helmet, mask, & he is waving a hop-along-horse like it is a samarui sword? And notice I am not fazed in the least, because it's a regular occurance around here! I'm not complaining, because in a few years he'll be too cool to act silly like that! :sad1:

You know, its nice to know other folks have insane DS's!!! Here is a photo of mine (8 years). This is actually a "captain Jack" moment - all the stuff he is wearing is his pirate loot (actually stuff my mother was going to give to goodwill and he "pirated" it away from her.)

I think it rained my entire freshman year....

Oh yeah ... me too! I was at William & Mary in Virginia for my freshman year and I swear it rained the entire time.
