WELL...I already have our banner, and it WILL at least be on the verandah on the day that we pass through the canal. That was the whole idea.

I think you're right, Andrew, if we put it up in the morning, then it probably won't be a problem as long as we take it back down that afternoon or evening.

Imagine my horror (and DCL's) when we arrived in Barbados for the very first time ever, and someone had all their undies on a line on their verandah!! It didn't make for the best showing.

Oh my!:scared1:

I so hope Costa Maya (and the little town of Mahajal) are OK. I tried googling for info, but there doesn't seem to be much yet. We visited on one of DCL's first few stops there - it was the year hurricane Ivan took out Grand Cayman and they changed the Western to go to Costa Maya. We saw a little of the town when we took school supplies to the Kindergarden and it certainly didn't look like it could stand up to even a Cat 1 hurricane.

Check out this link for more info on Costa Maya: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=20451228&postcount=28

Thank you all for the very nice birthday greetings!
It was a great day as I begin my 43rd year. I guess next year I will turn 43 on a sea day. Works for me.:thumbsup2

Wow. all I can say is you don't look old enough to have a 15 year old let alone a 26 year old.
Beautiful!!!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: Thanks! I just won't let you see any close ups of me! ;) The best thing I have going for me is that I have a great natural hair color and I'm not turning grey --- of course I say that and then by next Aug I'll be totally grey! Dh is 11 months older then me and has beautiful salt and pepper hair!

POOR Baby! How could he have such HEARTLESS parents! Wanna adopt a more appreciative kid? :rotfl: :rotfl:

No kidding!!! I will tell you that at 2am the morning of departure (him and i were the only ones downstairs and he started his *itching) I told him that if he didn't shut up and at least pretend he was having the best time ever I would personally throw hiim overboard after I beat the tar out of him! ;)

I told him that this trip was so important to his father (it was the first time ever that all 5 of the kids were able to go with us on trip together -- he was starting college the year that our now 9ds was born) and that his father had spent alot of money to make sure that everyone had a good time -- dh got the two older kids their own Cat 7 (?) stateroom so that they would feel like they had their *own* space! I personally would have bought them a Cat 12! :rotfl: :rotfl: Dh is nicer then I am! ;)

Aaahhh! I setup the VCR to tape HSM2 on Friday and we just found out it didn't work :scared1:

Due to the storms today, we don't have cable right now so I wasn't able to tape tonights showing either.

It won't be on again until SEPTEMBER 8th!

DS8 gets back from Wisconsin Sunday and he has been so excited to see this. He is going to be really upset and there isn't a thing I can do about it.

OK - its not the end of the world - but he starts school next Wednesday and I bet all the other kids will have seen it - and he is a huge fan and won't have seen it at all..... Major bummer :sad2:

I don't suppose anyone near here happened to tape it and would lend it to us for a few days? I would be happy to pay postage.

How old is he? How many DCL cruises has he gone on?

Last Sept our oldest (at the time he was 26) was a total jerk about the trip -- not so much to our face but, he let his sister (23 at the time) know how unhappy he was at being forced to go on 10nt DISNEY cruise! LOL!

Well he had such a GREAT time that he now tells all of his friends that it was the best trip EVER! :rotfl: :rotfl: micmse2003 and her dh can tell you what a great time he had! :rotfl2:

Our kids were 26ds, 23dd, 15dd, 8ds & 5dd on the last criuse and there wasn't a bad moment for anyone! :thumbsup2

He will be 20 on the cruise. He has not been on any Disney cruises; just 2 NCL and 1 Princess. He was going on a training trip the year I took his brothers on the Disney cruise. One reason he is not thrilled is that he feels I overdosed him on Disney when he was younger (poor baby!). Another is that he is not thrilled to be away for so long. I keep telling him that he will enjoy the adults only area and the ports will be great.

BTW, I was happy to hear that you had a great time on you ABD vacation. Those were great places to travel, and it's nice that you had such a wonderful trip.

OH MY!!!! Why would anyone put their underwear outside???? They had a bathroom! LOL! Of course dh insists that everyone have at least an extra weeks worth of underwear when we travel --- he got stuck in Mexico for an extra week once (AeroMexico went out of business for a week and then his brother, whom went with him on the business trip, got food poisining). He will never forget washing out his underwear in the sink and then trying to get it to dry! LOL!

And about the *first time in Barbados* were you referring to the 11 nt Southern? Because if you were...... we were there the week before with the 10nt Southern.... ;)

Our children lead such rough lives! :rotfl: :rotfl: I think he will have a much better time then he thinks! DS kept telling me that we were just being sucked into the Disney corperate machine...yada, yada, yada :rolleyes1

Thank you! They were very moving places to visit! 9 ds told us that he has a new hero .... Ben Franklin with George Washington next. ;)

I hope so. He will also be missing the first four days of his junior year in college. I figure this will probably be the last big vacation for all of us, so I really want him to go.

That is so cute!!! I am always impressed with everything ol' Ben managed to do in his time, too...

You can barely make ds out to the left -- I was trying not to include other people's children in my photos since I knew that I would be putting my photos online. :) He LOVED this!!!

WOW!! Was that something sponsored by Disney? How cool! Your son looks so into it! How adorable!

I'm the same way!!(socks and underwear) And everything must be new.

I have no idea why since I always do laundry while on vacation.:confused3

Me too, NEW NEW NEW. Always spend to much money just to go on vacation. Have to buy new underwear and sock for everyone. Well not EVERYONE just the ones in our family.
:rotfl:

I loved Wicked. I saw it in San Francisco before it opened on Broadway (and a couple of days before DD was born) with a couple of girlfriends. I wish they hadn't changed Fiero's intro song (I *understand* why they changed it, but I loved the "Which Way's the Party?" song). DH hasn't seen it, and I keep thinking about getting tickets & surprising him with them down in LA, but that means finding someone to watch DD (and the dog) for the weekend and a bunch of other logistical issues.

Enjoy it!

My DD12 did a "G" rated production 1-1/2 years ago. She played Nessa Rose. So both girls know all of the songs and the story. They have been waiting :yay: :yay: since January.

DH is the exact opposite - he deliberately brings his oldest underwear and socks (some of the socks even have small holes!) and then throws them out each day!

I tend to just bring my usual stuff, but I usually buy new socks for DS8 since his always seem to look terrible. This is sort of weird for a cruise since he ends up barely wearing any - maybe once or twice with tennis shoes and maybe a pair of dress socks if he comes to dinner...

I am so bummed about this HSM2 thing. Knowing how disappointed he is going to be when he gets home is really sad. He was all hyped up about it all weekend and even considered coming home with us rather than staying at the cabin with grandma and grandpa so he could see it sooner... I am SOOO glad he didn't decide to come home - that would have been super disappointing.

Bet that's one picture we won't be seeing in the next DCL brochure!

If your cable has an "on demand" section, check the free Disney Channel stuff, it was in there a few days ago

Roger, not too many of food selections!!! :sad2: You are all killing me. Have a great time at the park and the play. Pictures are almost like being there in person.

I have been trying to be good all week in anticipation of Goofy's Kitchen on Sunday. My DW likes it because they have an extensive salad bar (right next to the dessert table :rotfl2: ).
