Roger, I have to say that is one of the coolest picture I've seen. :thumbsup2

They do have a comfort station don't they with toliets/showers. Send the kids there... Eat out or roast hot dogs...

did i miss a story or does Ruby have a touch of ADD? Don't worry...my dd does too. Heaven help the both of us if we both forget the kids med's on the TOAL next year.

Might it need to be recharged? and doesn't this RV park have a store with bags of ice.... Even the little redneck place my mom stays at in PA has an icebox.

Ruby has ADHD/ODD- which basically means she drives everyone, even Rita, completely bonkers when she's not on her med. LOL

thanks for the pixie dust (those that posted about it and/or thought about it too). Atleast the fridge did start working- just took forever to get cold but by the time the ice melted in our coolers it was cold enough to put the food in there. that is one good thing.

However, we are beginning to think we have some curse against us or something. LOL (not serious but trying to keep our sense of humor about this) Jeff went this morning to get the part for the leaking plumbing under the sink that flooded the trailer last night- closest place was so far away his diving buddy had to wait almost 2hrs late for Jeff to get there. But Jeff fixed the plumbing and forgot to turn the water on and hook up the sewer. so I wake up after he leaves and turn on the water... and the toilet starts leaking all over and floods the trailer AGAIN!
so we use the rest of our towels to soak it up and turn off the water (obviously)
when he gets back he goes to buy the valve that is cracked... and they don't have it. (at the same "closest" place that is quite a drive away). but they give him a plug thing so he can atleast just stop the toilet from flooding the place. So now we can have WATER but no toilet. Which is fine. They do have one comfort station (one toilet) so it's inconvenient but it's doable.
But the outside hose is leaking where we connect to the water.. The Rv park probably won't like that. Jeff tried to fix it... but can't. so we turned the water off and we'll just turn it on for short periods of time when we need it.

Meanwhile when he left after his dive this morning to come back here- he went to get his tank aired up and they refused to air it! they said it was one that was "likely" to explode or something. he's dived here before many times the past 3yrs or so, as recent as a few months ago... and now they are saying they've NEVER aired up those tanks (which is a lie). Ofcourse we don't want him to have a tank that is dangerous anyway... but we just paid for the hydro testing and inspection/etc. on the tank. I'd just paid that and picked it up on thurs! You'd think that scuba place would have told us not to bother- as this tank is dangerous and no one will fill it up with air! *sigh*

So now he can only dive when his dive buddy lets him use his extra tank. He'll atleast go do the night dive tonight but THIS dive buddy isn't going to be here tomorrow. He has another buddy he was going to dive with tomorrow who doesn't have an extra tank. We have 2 other tanks (sitting in our garage at home) that a friend at work recently gave Jeff... but they do us no good all the way out here right now. So no diving for him tomorrow (his buddy can surely find another dive buddy tomorrow because such a large group is here for the weekend- Christian divers of Tx and Ok)

But atleast we have a/c (and it would be cool in here if the kids would stop going in and out. LOL but that's usual for kids ofcourse...) and we have a fridge and intermitten use of water without flooding the trailer again...
kids have swam, played tennis and basketball and we'll take them fishing in a bit. We're making the best of what luck (bad!) we've had this weekend. It could be worse, not much besides someone getting hurt God forbid, but it could be worse.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.... I'm sure ours will get better. It has to! :) :)

Who is a pirate's favorite magician?

HARRRRRrrrry Pottarrrrrr!!

:thumbsup2
My DH pointed out that since next year is leap year, we are actually 365 days out today.
(Just in case someone wants to count down by days:confused3 )
Anyway we can celebrate the 365 day mark again today:thumbsup2

RATS!

My last "Math Alert" series of calculations missed this... now, are you SURE it's a leap year? I'll have to google this independently. Well - later as its' off to ballet class with the older daughter.

TTFN ;)

BIP, sorry to hear about your Griswald Vacation. Just curious, how long had your trailer been sitting idle at your sisters?

Yes Crash.............2008 is a Leap Year..............;)

BIP, sorry to hear about your Griswald Vacation. Just curious, how long had your trailer been sitting idle at your sisters?

About 2yrs. but we took it once to go camping in last summer and everything was fine.
Yes, I know... far too long. We did have a few icey/snow days last winter so maybe that is what messed up all the plumbing work, I imagine.
but getting it at our house was a long endeavor (we moved last nov but just recently got to work on the area it had to go in our backyard- removing the dogrun and doghouse built there on the concrete drive that extended in our backyard, etc.) and then this camping trip was a rush job. Soon as we got it to our house before we could even take the time to make sure everything worked/etc. the kids started begging to go camping in it (can't blame them for that) and Jeff started saying he wanted to go scuba diving- so within a week we were off on this "griswald vacation" (very funny- exactly what it feels like!) and we just weren't well prepared for this apparently. We would have just waited until everything was checked and in working order- but this is the last weekend we could camp. They start school the monday after next weekend and we have plans that weekend with friends already...
Jeff did test everything at the house before we left (fridge started to get cold at the house but only a little- so we thought it would be fine, it started showing the "check" light repeatedly once we got here but apparently we can't run it on the gas for some reason and have to run it on the electricity) EXCEPT he didn't hook up water and he probably should have. ya think?
LOL

speaking of griswald vacation.. we just drove 20mi to walmart to buy the piece that would make the water not leak where it connects on the outside (so now that's fixed) and get contact lenses stuff for our niece who forgot to bring it and had to sleep with them in last night.. and we get OUT of walmart and down the road and Rita decides to tell me at that point that we need to "go home" and get her another swimsuit. HOME? she obviously doesn't realize how far from home we are. LOL I told the stinker to bring more than one because she often likes to wear a different one every day- but she argued with me that she only wanted that one. It's one that connects around the back of the neck with plastic and apparently the last time she swam she took it off on her own by just pulling and broke the plastic thing. I told her ohwell- she's young enough she can get away with swimming in the pool in a shirt and shorts... but secretly thought it would have been nice to tell us that in walmart! Boy that walmart was PACKED- took forever. I guess because it's tax free weekend? and maybe this is a walmart that is busy all the time because there is hardly anything around this area without a long drive. so that, and the fact that they wouldn't have much time to fish, we're going to cook steaks on the grill and then Jeff has to get back to the scuba park by 8pm (befoer they lock the gates and don't allow anyone else IN) in order for him to do the night dive with his buddy. So we were limited on time at that point. not a thing in the world wrong with a 7yr old swimming in shirts and shorts, right? :)

Don't mean to sound like I'm only complaining.. just it's WEIRD how so much is going wrong! But we're still having a good time. after he leaves to go dive- we're going to cook marshmallows over the fire, play a game of monopoly or something... and I'll wash a load of clothes (got detergent at Walmart) later tonight to get all our towels washed. I'll probably try to dry Robert's shoes too- because we forgot his crocs... even though I told him about 50 times he needs to bring something OTHER than just his tennis shoes. We were just in too much of a rush to get to the circus early and ended up forgetting a few things. We needn't have rushed considering the traffic we then encountered. hindsight 20/20 eh?

Tomorrow Jeff can't scuba dive (without a tank since they won't fill his tank) so we'll probably do more swimming, fishing and tennis/basketball and whatever. Have lunch off the grill (hotdogs and porkchops) and head home a bit earlier than we'd planned... if Jeff had been able to dive again tomorrow. I am glad they have a pet exercise area... so Tramp can get some exercise besides on the leash. He has a blast running around in there and getting some "energy" out that he can't inside the camper. :)

Okay Tramp and I are headed to the dock to check out the progress with the fishing going on. ;)

talk to you all later!

I went to pick up Angelina from work today and guess WHO I found waiting for me at the entrance.......it's LINA Bear (aka Angelina). Angelina's boss John took this pic of the two of us on my new camera phone. I finally figured out how to send the photo to my e-mail address, then I posted it in my photobucket account. I'm such a novice with this cell phone tech stuff........:lmao:

Hi everyone! Just got back from our 2 week vacation! Did anyone notice I was gone? ;) :goodvibes Our RCCL family reunion cruise had it's ups & downs. A big mix up with our group not being considered a group by RCCL so we missed out on a lot of perks including an onboard credit for having more than 8 cabins booked. It's a long story, but I'm not too happy with the way RCCL handled it all. I've also told you stories of my crazy family so suffice it to say, nobody got arrested, but I think it was close a few times! All in all we had a blast & we are thinking of trying another one in 2009 but perhaps with another cruise line. :thumbsup2 There were a lot of squabbles but then again, a lot of laughs. Sort of the way any big family or group can be I guess. ;)

We stayed at BWVs after the cruise for 11 nts. Still wasn't long enough. I don't think if I stayed a year it would be long enough! :cloud9: I have so much snail mail, email & quite a bit of this thread to get caught up on. Hope all is well!

My parents have an old Avalon(like an Airstream) and it's been sitting in the field at least 6-8 yrs. We keep talking about getting it in shape and taking a little "vacation" but haven't done it yet. :confused3

We had a motorhome when the girls were younger, and then took Jared for his first camping trip when he was only 6 wks old....I must have been nuts......
Kept it until he was about 6 or 7, when it had sat for about 3 years without use. I have to say I wasn't too sorry to see it go. I never was much of a camper.
My family used to tease that my idea of "roughing it" was a Holiday Inn. ::yes::

WHY GOD MADE MOMS Answers given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?
1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Mostly to clean the house.
3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of ?
1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?
1. We're related.
2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your mom?
1. My Mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?
1. His last name.
2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?
1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on.

Who's the boss at your house?
1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms & dads?
1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's.
4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.

What does your mom do in her spare time?
1. Mothers don't do spare time.
2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?
1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it and not me.
3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

Whew.....

You should see what i accomplished today.....

DD is away on a 2-night sleepover at her horse farm. 20 girls in tents :scared1: Luckily the weather has been great...

Anyway, i went into her room :scared1: to get her dirty clothes and start the pre-disney trip laundry going....

Her room was a mess......

SO ...... i first went through with a trash bag and through the drawers and under the bed ..you name it...

AS i was doing this, It dawned on me that her room would look better if i rearranged some stuff....

SO now her room looks different and is fairly clean.. (i still left her some stuff to do.)

i should be up for sainthood....
