Hi everyone.
I'm posting from laptop in travel trailer.
man this evening went from bad to worse. We need y'all to send us a wee bit of pixie dust please! First we had some "issues" with the travel trailer after it having sit at my sister's property, unused, for so long. Had to get new battery/etc.
then we take off a wee bit late but still with plenty of time to get the travel trailer parked "near" the circus area and get to the circus in time. but alas, it was not to be... traffic was backed up for miles and miles and miles at a complete stop most of the time... just inching along. Finally came upon the wreck right about the time they cleared the vehicles away and meanwhile it took us almost an hour to get less than 5mi on the highway. So needless to say we ended up missing about most of the first half of the circus.
We had a good time anyway though- Rita was especially way more thrilled than I expected. I guess the last time we went to a circus she was 3 or 4yrs old maybe (she's 7 now) and boy was she thrilled. Every act was her "favorite". LOL
Then we left- took over 30min just to get out of the parking garage! Lovely.
Get to where we parked the trailer and someone parked in front of us and trapped us in... took awhile to get them to come out of the establishment (we had permission to park it in their parking lot as Jeff knows the owner) and FINALLY got to the RV park at around 1am.
They said we'd be close to the lake and pool- but we're about the furthest away you can be! the furthest pull thru from the pool and lake- and the only thing further is a line of back-in spots. ugh
And then it got worse.. Jeff was hooking up electricity and such and I was unpacking stuff and putting it where it belonged in the travel trailer (kids asleep in the still vehicle) and he hooked up the water and something busted underneath the sink and water just flooded all over the travel trailer.
A) now instead of going scuba diving with a buddy that will be waiting for him- he's going to have to go find a store to find the park that broke and if he can't find it- we're taking this travel trailer home. I'm sorry but we can't have 6 of us going without toilet, shower, water to drink/cook with, etc. until Sunday night! No way!
B) even if he is able to find the part and fix it- we'll stay but his buddy is not going to be able to dive until jeff gets there (late- no telling how long it will take to find the part... and hello that's just one more additional cost to this quickly becoming EXPENSIVE "camping" trip) and also I didn't expect to have to go somewhere and wash anything. I brought no detergent/etc. I brought enough towels and washcloths and beach towels for us all for 2 days.. all the towels were used to soak up the flooded water in here and the floors weren't all that clean. So the towels are dirty...
My wireless mouse isn't working anymore for some reason, I forgot batteries (among other things -I had a list and checked it a billion times... but somehow still forgot batteries, RUBY'S MEDICINE! YEAH ME HAVING TO DEAL WITH HER WITHOUT HER MEDS FOR 2 DAYS.. UGH, and a few other "won't die without them but sure would be nice to have them" items. Anyway, I hate laptops with the touch scroll/mouse thing. I can't function with it. I need a mouse. LOL
I'll update tomorrow but please send some pixie dust that we find the part for the plumbing QUICKLY in the morning so he can still scuba dive later today and that I can find a place NEARBY to purchase detergent and stuff and wash the towels so we can go ahead and stay till Sunday night.
Oh and the fridge doesn't seem to be working. We thought it was getting cold when we tested everything before we left but now it doesn't seem to be. The a/c works fine (thank you God!) but without a fridge- I have an awful lot of food in coolers with melted ice and no idea how far to buy more ice for 2 days to keep that food cold? come on fridge/freezer- please start working and get cold.
don't forget the pixie dust- we apparently need some!!!!
