Resort Thread Disney's POP CENTURY Resort

Hi everyone! We usually stay deluxe/moderate but had a flight issue and had to come back and are staying here for 2 nights. We are in building 4, second floor. I actually am very impressed with this resort except that we could not sleep. There was a constant water flowing sound, toilets flushing, doors slamming, noises all night. ALL night. We can hear every single thing, every small sound is so loud. We are not light sleepers and come to Disney a lot and have never experienced this. Is this normal or are we just unlucky? I have a pounding headache and still have one more night here :( I would stay here again if there is a certain building/floor to avoid this
Gotta have white noise machines.

Good to know! We’ve never had an issue at any resort, maybe it was just the people above us in and out all night

Thank you everyone for your replies! We will definitely give it another shot another time!
You could request a fan from Housekeeping. They are nice box fans that will provide good white noise for you. I always ask for one whether I'm at Pop or the Yacht Club (or anywhere else on property -- can't get them at Swan, which is a bummer). I know it's a bit late, but if you read this before turning in for the night, you might find it useful. Housekeeping typically brings one within 10 minutes of calling for it. I hope you get better sleep tonight!

I’m about to ‘check in’ to pop tomorrow, does anyone want me to ‘check out’ anything and report back?
Thanks for the offer!

If you notice which building(s) are currently closed for refurbishment, that would be great! I believe it’s Building 5 with the Baloo, Jungle Book icon, next to Hippy Dippy pool but confirmation would be great.

Also, are the shadow boxes currently still visible in the main hall?

These are 2 recent questions we’ve had in the refurbishments thread.

We’re checking in in a little less than 3 weeks and will update that thread and be able to answer questions too.

Well @ Isthisnormalatdisney I am not a bourbon fan but I had the chocolate peanut butter shake without the bourbon back in May and I believe it's worth it. And it cost a lot less too. It was really good and I plan on getting it again in October. Again I got it without the bourbon. I really think you will enjoy it and I recommend it to everyone staying at Pop. It's a delicious treat IMO.

That is good to know! We will bring a noise machine next time but we did have to call at midnight and have them go to the people upstairs and tell the kids to stop jumping non stop 🤪 after that we were ok! I’m assuming it was mostly them the night before as well

Well @Shacka1 sounds like you had the unfortunate noisy neighbors situation which can occur at any Disney resort. Pop is my absolute favorite reason and in my many many stays there only had one noisy neighbors situation and that was because I had a connecting room and thankfully that was a once and done situation because I now make non connecting room my first and sometimes only room request. And I have been fortunate to get that request even if I need to wait longer for my room. And I am a light sleeper and the box fan request is a must and a blessing. LOL So please give Pop another try. Oh and I meant above to say Pop is my absolute favorite resort sorry for typo.

You should prob bring at least two. One for bathroom area and one for front door area. If you really want to be extra another one by the connecting door area.

Sorry but in my experience that is normal*. For mods and values I've stayed Pop, All Stars, POFQ, CSR. In all of them I hear water running, toilets flushing, doors slamming and if not on ground floor people's steps every day. The sound proofing is crap because they're values/mods, you're not imagining things. The only one that wasn't crap sound wise was CSR in Gran Destino Tower, but that is designed more like a hotel. At all levels of Disney hotels I have found a connecting door always makes it worse.

I use a noise maker app for white noise to help drown it out.

*constant water flowing sounds weird though, don't know what could cause that. Near the main pool I recall hearing the fountains that shoot into the pool on my first night and thinking it was raining

Yes it really wasn’t enjoyable and I know some people probably think I’m being dramatic but even my 11yr old who sleeps through everything couldn’t sleep. It’s a nice resort and we really liked everything else though!

You're not dramatic, we're all just different. The white noise background was a gamechanger for me, I go for rainsounds but everyone finds their own fav. I'm glad I found it as it has allowed me to add resorts like Pop into my Disney trip!

During our last stay we requested a fan and one arrived within 10 minutes. The only thing about that… it was missing a blade. It was so loud banging on the table due to the imbalance it would have kept us and all the rooms around us all night 😂

We did request another one and hopefully they threw that one away🥴

Currently at least part of building 4 is being worked on.

Half of the shadow boxes are covered. The ones closest to Everything Pop. Half of the check in desks are closed. The ones furthest away from Everything Pop.
