On the days when it got too chilly to wear flip-flops, a coworker used to come into work wearing (horrors!) toe socks:

Now, I kinda like this look :hippie: :duck:

Hello!!

Just stopped in to say Good-bye. I'm all packed and leaving for the airport shortly. Paris here I come!!
Be checking w/all in September!!!

I'm a little late, but wanted to wish a safe journey. Have FUN!!!!

Hello,

Just making a "drive by posting"... we're preparing to return home tomorrow and just in time more or less to miss this hurricane which is supposed to hit the Hawaiian isles tomorrow.

<chuckles>

With any luck maybe our return flight will be canceled and we'll get stuck in "paradise" eh? Otherwise, things have been beautiful out here! I'll have more to share when we get home.

Cheers!

Crash, been thinking about you when I hear on the news there is a hurricane coming, you had an earthquake, then a landslide...... :scared:

Get home safely!!!!

BTW Joann fabric has some neat organization stuff on sale right now. i got this huge fold-down lime green hamper (shaped like a can about 22x36") for only $4.99. They had a nice three section one too. They work great for storing the dirty clothes in the room and for hauling laundry back and forth.

I bought a pop up hamper for our last cruise also. Worked out great. It really helped to keep the room picked up, and didn't take up much space. This cruise I think I may take 2 of them, so I can keep things a bit sorted (lights/whites and darks).

I have been using Torani Sugar free drink mixes for my protein shakes but are really intended for making drinks. We have a good selection at Cost Plus. Here are some of the flavors they have.

Here is a link to the website Torani Sugar Free drink mixes

Ohhh, more experimenting to be done :lmao: :lmao: . DiVinci makes a pretty good selection of SF also
Anybody see the TSV on QVC for today (Wednesday)?

Very Cute!!!

Costume alert! If anyone is interested, Jo Ann's will have Simplicity patterns for 99 cents this Fri,Sat & Sun. There are 2 pirate patterns 3677 is womens and 4923 is mens. They both have jackets, breeches, shirt, vest & sash.

Thanks, Tina. I can't sew a button either - however, I know a very good seamstress down the street ;)

Okay raise your hand if you're NOT going to be in pirate costumes? If we're the only ones not dressing in pirate costumes we may have to hide out from dinner that night- or something. *pout*

I usually only wear a pirate-y T-shirt, but I don't know...this group kind of has me in the mood to "get into it" a bit more. Although, I agree that the luggage space is certainly an issue.

Oh I want that! (is it bad that I'm serious??)

Okay raise your hand if you're NOT going to be in pirate costumes? If we're the only ones not dressing in pirate costumes we may have to hide out from dinner that night- or something. *pout*

I don't think Brendan and I will be in costume...We might wear a patch or something but not go all out...

Chrissie

Morning everyone.

Fortunately, Royal Mail have resumed talks with the postal workers so I've taken a day off (and it's the local carnival). I've just watched the RAF Red Arrows display team fly past the house.

David

Great pitcure, David. Must have been an awsome sight.

Safe travels to WDW. My friends fly out of Gatwick to WDW also. I don't know how you do it - 9 hours - UGH!!!

Between this and the margarita mix and the mixers Roger talked about... Us larb-carb peeps should be able to drink and still have plenty of room for chocolate souffles...

Now if only they could come up with a LF/SF chocolate souffle that tasted as good. Who needs veggies - I would live on that stuff :rotfl:

Okay thanks!
We also end up with a lot of luggage for our family of 5- and it is a longer cruise. But I intend to take about as much as last time and "redo" all our clothes *(by doing laundry halfway thru the cruise. I'm sure we're not the only ones planning that- so I suspect the laundry rooms will be packed about halfway thru the cruise LOL) No WAY can I pack enough clothes, undergarments, night clothing, etc. for all of us for 15 nights. That's crazy! We are staying a few nights at DL first- so I'll probably pack for 9-10 days and then do laundry about 10 days into our entire "vacation" including DL days. Maybe I can miss the rush for the laundry room by doing it that way. No one steal my idea. LOL

We are planning on doing laundry as well...I am worried about luggage space because I am a shopper! And between DL (may mail stuff home b4 cruise) and a cruise..I need all the space I can get!
I think our room is next to the laundry...so I think it would be simple to do laundry at random times!

Well off to do my chores. Another beautiful here in Mass.

Want to get the room taped off for painting as it is supposed to warm up and get more humid tomorrow.

Have a great day, everyone

Morning everyone.

We fly to WDW on Monday and we are nearly packed - well Helen has nearly packed. We leave home on Saturday and spend two days near Gatwick airport relaxing before the 9:00 hour ordeal across the Atlantic. I haven't told Helen I need to go into work on Saturday morning yet :scared1:

This will be the first time we have gone to America withouth Helen taking full advatage of our luggage allowance - we are actually down to three cases; Virgin Atlantic will want to know if she is feeling well :rotfl2:

My nut-free meal has been ordered and Bethan has checked that she will be getting her childs meal as nine hours with her and an adult lasagne is no joke whatsoever.

We've planned into our schedule in WDW the meet that Peter is organising and also the meet in the Earl of Sandwich but for that one, it will only be for about 30 minutes as this will be on our return journey to the airport.

For my birthday on the 1st of September, we plan to go to Le Cellier as we did last year and also intend doing post-cruise, next year, and then outside to watch Illuminations - perfect !!

Anyway, I hope to call-back before we leave so until then .......

David

David have a safe trip.I remember that 9 hour trip very well. Thank goodness for the movies as I have never been able to sleep on a plane. We'll see you on the 25th.

Chris hope you have a great trip as well. Be reading all the trip reports.

Okay, we will not be in full out pirate costumes - I do know how to sew but no one in my house would even wear them I am sure. The kids will have their Captain Jack hats they got at the World in Jan. We will all be wearing jeans and our pirate shirts we got from St. Maarten in 2006. That will make for a nice photo and sort of match the one we got taken in Jan. 2007

Okay thanks!

Hey that was my plan too - do laundry after about 8-9 days. We too are doing DL first, we plan to leave wed or thurs. I plan to pack as light as possible so that we can pack a couple of empty suitcases for goodies we might bring home!

I bought a pop up hamper for our last cruise also. Worked out great. It really helped to keep the room picked up, and didn't take up much space. This cruise I think I may take 2 of them, so I can keep things a bit sorted (lights/whites and darks).

Good idea - thanks! We always end up with an entire closet full of dirty clothes - when it gets too full I bring out one of the empty suitcases from under the bed and throw them all in there and poof - one bag packed for the trip home. I like the idea that the pop hampers will take up less space PLUS you will have a way to carry your clothing back and forth.

Shhhhhhh! Its secret. If he tells you he might have to kill you! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

He's the atypical government employee, knowledgeable and helpful! (I can say that as a gov't employee....) :lmao: :lmao:

all this talk of passports, I dug out ours yesterday. Seems DD's expires in October, not December like I had, for some reason, thought.

I guess it doesn't matter because to renew an "under 16" passport seems to be the same procedure as a new passport. I am hoping it is not the same price - still digging around

Mary Ann,
I just had DD (17) renewed in June, you needed 2 checks, one was for $67 to Department of State and the other was for $30 to Postmaster...I am not sure if the rates are the same, but they shouldn't be any higher than that.

Also, she is 17 and I had to be with her to get the passport. I originally tried to send her with my older DD, and they said she had to come back with a parent. That's why it took us about 2 weeks after that to go back, and hers is a little delayed.

With all this talk of passports, so glad we have ours, just waiting for Briana's to arrive.
Debi

Hey Tom (and everyone else) thanks for all the passport info...Brendan and I were going to wait til January to get ours but after all the info passed on we will start the process once we get back from WDW in September.

Chrissie

Our school district starts September 6th. We always start the Thursday after Labor Day.

Taking a late lunch today, our new cell phones arrived a little bit ago and I just finished getting them activated.

Time to get back to work.......

Same here, we are late starters and usually don't finish till around the 28th of June.

Well if its too cold to be wearing flip flops, then maybe you shouldn't be wearing them....:rotfl: :rotfl:

Wow, my 500th post. I know, rookie.
