Cheryl, why did your passport application go to New Hampshire? I would of thought it would go to the Chicago Office? When I got our passports in 2005 ours went to Chicago. Of course back then there was no rush. I was sweating out my dd's passport after the hassle I went through, but they came in 3 weeks!

I now know more than I ever want to know about passports!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: All checks are cashed in Pennsylvania and from there your Passport Application can be routed to lots of offices throughout the United States. My application was just lucky enough:rolleyes1 to be sent to New Hampshire. When you call to inquire with the confirmation number from the internet,(this happens once the check is cashed) the agency can tell you where the application is being processed. Mine was in New Hampshire!! No one has any choice where or what office the application is sent to. The first girl was nice enough to tell me I should say I need it soon. After all I did wait 14 weeks before I started calling. Total time was 16 weeks and that is only because I was calling!!!

LOL!

No problem! :) :grouphug:

Now that's funny!

I think I'm getting a headache.
how on earth can I show a chain of proof of the name on all my other info besides my BC? I've had everything in Shelley and didn't even know it was Shelly on my BC until the cruise last year when I went to get a copy of my BC for that cruise and realized how it was spelled on there. I didn't save my DL all my life to prove I've always used Shelley -but my SS is from when I was a child and it's spelled Shelley. How I'd prove it's been my SS since I aws a child is beyond me.
I sure hope I don't have to go digging up first marriage license, divorce, new marriage license to same man, "chain" of proof of my name change, etc. this is such a PITA! major major PITA!

And I am so not going to Houston to deal with this either. Like I'm so sure... not! Might as well ask me to go to another state- as far as that is from me in the big ole state of Texas!
ugh

Read above post. Boy was I getting a headache.:headache: I think I would call an agency to see what you need to do BIP!! When I took my appication and pictures to my post office, the person commented my picture might be too dark. I was told to send it anyway. I was worried the picture was going to get rejected.

Hello,

Just making a "drive by posting"... we're preparing to return home tomorrow and just in time more or less to miss this hurricane which is supposed to hit the Hawaiian isles tomorrow.

<chuckles>

With any luck maybe our return flight will be canceled and we'll get stuck in "paradise" eh? Otherwise, things have been beautiful out here! I'll have more to share when we get home.

Cheers!

Have a very safe trip home!!! I heard it will just go past the Southern portion of the Big Island.

Paula!

Thanks so much for the pictures from our Yankees mini meet.

Adam captured the moment!

Say hi to Alan for us:)

I will! Glad you go them so fast. I wish I had taken more, but Adam ran out the battery taking pics of all the players. :goodvibes

Hello!!

Just stopped in to say Good-bye. I'm all packed and leaving for the airport shortly. Paris here I come!!
Be checking w/all in September!!!

Chris have a wonderful time!!!!!!!:goodvibes

Make sure you keep an eye on the weather over the next week or two if you are heading to WDW, Tropical Storm Dean is headed towards Cuba or Puerto Rico and there is another system in Gulf that will likely form in next 48 hours (although likely headed for Texas)

Be careful!

Hmmm... We are headed down on 9/1 so all those pesky storms better be outta there!

BTW Peter....Are you going to leave a list of names at guard shack and/or send PM's so we know your real last name or do we just tell the guard your DIS name and laugh....

I sent a pm to everyone going to the mini meet with Peters info. If you didn't get it please pm me :thumbsup2

I wanted to say something profound for my 1000th post on this thread but instead I just kept on talking!!!:rotfl2:

CONGRATS ON THE 1000

Gosh, I miss a days posting and it took over an hour to ketchup!!!
To everyone traveling to the repo Bon Voyage. Hopefully the Storm will blow somewhere else. Learned a lot about passports. Thanks to everyone.

THanks for letting us know you're OK... i saw the waves on the news and was worried.

There are 2 pirate patterns 3677 is womens and 4923 is mens. They both have jackets, breeches, shirt, vest & sash.

I think 4923 is the one we used for DH. We used the womens pirate shirt for DD. Not sure which pattern that was but it was Simplicity i think. i didn't assemble the patterns (mom did that) but my only words of wisdom is to add length to the shirt or vest for the guys. My dh is 6'1" and while his was kinda OK...it would have been better longer. Well that and wash the material before you cut it.

Sorry BIP...can i send both to Texas?

and Tom...ok hurricane attracter no more words from you OK....

My luck will be that our flight will be cancelled Wednesday night due to the storm hitting....DOH!!!!!!!

Don't worry...I'll be looking into alternative low/no cal mixes for those of us watching our girlish figures.... I've already thought of doing fruit punch cryatal light in place of the punch. Gotta see if anyone makes a SF coconut mix.

1 glass rum and diet Coke (133 calories)
1 tequila shot (100 calories)
1.5 oz rum = 100-125 calories

Here's SF magarita mix http://www.zilchmixers.com/

If only I could sew. :sad2:

I have a costume that I used to think was pretty good. Until I saw the ones some people here have.....and until I saw a picture of myself in it.

Will have to work on the weight issue first...then the costume issue....
Ditto.
If only I could sew AND working on weight issue first then costume issue. We probably won't dress up though. Such stick in the muds, aren't we? well with a family of 5 it could get expensive... just for the two of us would be expensive. LOL

Costume alert! If anyone is interested, Jo Ann's will have Simplicity patterns for 99 cents this Fri,Sat & Sun. There are 2 pirate patterns 3677 is womens and 4923 is mens. They both have jackets, breeches, shirt, vest & sash.

I've already picked up a shirt pattern for Kevin; Simplicity #3758 and Dress pattern for me Butterick #3906. Close to being done with the chemise of my outfit. Waiting to tackle the vest. I don't sew on a machine, so have to do it all by hand.

Oh I want that! (is it bad that I'm serious??)

Okay raise your hand if you're NOT going to be in pirate costumes? If we're the only ones not dressing in pirate costumes we may have to hide out from dinner that night- or something. *pout*

We won't be dressed in pirate costumes either. We had so much luggage for our last cruise, and this one is twice as long.....no way will we have room for costumes. I was thinking of getting some pirate tees....or maybe even wear our embarkation shirts again that night. Don't worry....we won't be the only ones not dressed up......but of course, I will enjoy seeing everyone else's costumes! :goodvibes

Okay thanks!
We were thinking the same. (wearing the black shirts on pirate night) That way we'd get more "use" out of those darn black shirts that I'm not fond of. LOL I think I can handle wearing black in a/c for dinner and in the late evening. ;)
I'm glad to hear we won't be the only ones not in costume!
We also end up with a lot of luggage for our family of 5- and it is a longer cruise. But I intend to take about as much as last time and "redo" all our clothes *(by doing laundry halfway thru the cruise. I'm sure we're not the only ones planning that- so I suspect the laundry rooms will be packed about halfway thru the cruise LOL) No WAY can I pack enough clothes, undergarments, night clothing, etc. for all of us for 15 nights. That's crazy! We are staying a few nights at DL first- so I'll probably pack for 9-10 days and then do laundry about 10 days into our entire "vacation" including DL days. Maybe I can miss the rush for the laundry room by doing it that way. No one steal my idea. LOL

The funny thing is I don't even LIKE wearing sox! Even down in WDW! I never wear them!! (only when I go to the gym!)

Thought I would share...I am cleaning.....I just found $60 disney dollahs!
Whhoooo hoooo!!!

Chrissie

:woohoo: WooHoo - Sweet, more Mickey bar money :woohoo:

Lookie, lookie what I found......

Baja Bob's
Pina Colada Mix
A low carb Pina Colada? Has Bob finally lost his mind? Let's just say he spent three months in "therapy" after he came up with this pineapple-infused prize. This creamy coconut concoction is so delicious, it's insane!

Made with real coconut cream, pineapple juice, and natural flavors!
Available in ready-to-use convenient 32 oz. plastic bottles. Just add rum.
Only 4g of carbs per 4 oz. serving and that's because of the pineapple juice! Compare that to 38 grams in the top-selling brand.
Sweetened with Splenda. It tastes like sugar, because it's made from sugar! Other sugar free mixes are made with erythritol or aspartame, which have an aftertaste and can have a laxative effect. Bob says, "No comment."
*Add approximately 96 calories per serving when mixed with alcohol.

Hmmm, looks like it is time to start experimenting :stir: :crazy2:

Morning all! :goodvibes

Getting ready to head to the shop, have a lot to do today and Thursday (decided to let my DD work tomorrow and take the day off, I need it before this crazy w/e). Doing a show down in South Jersey this w/e, set-up is on Friday, now I have to decide what to bring and pack up half my store...it's a big job, but I did the Memories Expo show in NJ in April and it was very successful, so I am hoping this will be worth my while too. It would be the pop I need, as business is always slow in the summer. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

When I get to work, I will get a chance to backtrack and read. See ya in a few!

Debi
Keeping fingers crossed - Good Luck, Debi

Hey everyone! I got the letter from DCL last night about them paying the canal tax. Hope everyone is doing well. I've got some ketchup to do.

Got my letter too - :cool1: .

Morning everyone.

I haven't been here for a while as I've been ultra-busy in work due to a postal strike with Royal Mail - it's caused a right headache - so I've been working long days and when I get home I'm just too tired.

Fortunately, Royal Mail have resumed talks with the postal workers so I've taken a day off (and it's the local carnival). I've just watched the RAF Red Arrows display team fly past the house.

RedArrows.jpg

The procession through town starts at 19:00 tonight so everyone is looking forward to it.

We fly to WDW on Monday and we are nearly packed - well Helen has nearly packed. We leave home on Saturday and spend two days near Gatwick airport relaxing before the 9:00 hour ordeal across the Atlantic. I haven't told Helen I need to go into work on Saturday morning yet :scared1:

This will be the first time we have gone to America withouth Helen taking full advatage of our luggage allowance - we are actually down to three cases; Virgin Atlantic will want to know if she is feeling well :rotfl2:

My nut-free meal has been ordered and Bethan has checked that she will be getting her childs meal as nine hours with her and an adult lasagne is no joke whatsoever.

It's ironic that with all your talk of passports I've just countersigned a passport for a friend (as I'm a Civil Servant, I'm allowed to do this) and have to drop this back to him before we leave.

We've planned into our schedule in WDW the meet that Peter is organising and also the meet in the Earl of Sandwich but for that one, it will only be for about 30 minutes as this will be on our return journey to the airport.

For my birthday on the 1st of September, we plan to go to Le Cellier as we did last year and also intend doing post-cruise, next year, and then outside to watch Illuminations - perfect !!

Anyway, I hope to call-back before we leave so until then .......

David

We'll but at DL too. So away from home roughly 20 days. I'm thinking 6 days of rotational casual stuff... Dinner will be more difficult with two formal nights and such.

Last trip i had some really nice dresses that packed fairly light (Hopefully i'll be able to find some similar ones in a smaller size next year) but we won't be so lucky with DH's clothes. (he'll probably take three dress pants; two jackets; 3-4 shirts) Luckily i bought him a really nice black suit last year and it looked really nice on formal nights. (ie no need for tux)

I don't have an issue with doing laundry a few times. I'm thinking packing 2 mini-Tide containers. They'll do about 4-5 loads worth.

BTW Joann fabric has some neat organization stuff on sale right now. i got this huge fold-down lime green hamper (shaped like a can about 22x36") for only $4.99. They had a nice three section one too. They work great for storing the dirty clothes in the room and for hauling laundry back and forth.

Baja Bob's Pina Colada Mix

Between this and the margarita mix and the mixers Roger talked about... Us larb-carb peeps should be able to drink and still have plenty of room for chocolate souffles...
