Ahhhh the mark of an East Coaster!![]()
Not always an east coast trait...Especially not for my generation...
I couldn't wait to move away from my neighborhood in NE Philly. My sister is stuck there now in the house we grew up in. Her son is turning 5 next year and she has no idea what to do about school but there is no way in heck he's going to the public schools. She's almost forced into private school. Actually my mom gave the house to her through a private deal at below market. (So much for my inheritance...

i grew up knowing i had no intentions on raising a family there in the same hell.
Most of my friends moved away too. Very few live in their previous neighborhoods. And actually after college, many of us moved to where the job markets took us. (For any development or engineering fields it was mainly MD or DC area.)
