I agree that the website looks terrific, and greatly appreciate J.R.'s hard work. I guess truth be told, I too would feel better about last names being withheld. It really isn't necessary to making plans with each other.

I haven't been a contributor to this thread of late, but I know that I will be posting more as time permits (like when school is back in session). I still value the friendships I have made here, and hope they continue.

In regards to those "lurking", I learned a valuable lesson on our last cruise, that I'd like to share. I joined the DIS group to share my excitement and learn more before taking our first cruise. I had NO INTENTION of actually meeting any of these people once onboard. As I got to know them, I realized how much I enjoyed conversation with them. I later decided I would meet them to satisfy my curiousity of what they looked like in person, but that would be the end of it. The majority of our group met in the terminal before boarding. As I walked around talking "in person" to people I had talked to the entire year prior online, I felt as though they were already old friends. I was shocked to find myself making plans with them for the coming week. As it turned out, we spent the vast majority of our time onboard and in port with fellow DISers. These people enhanced our cruise experience more than I can describe, and I consider them to be life long friends. We continue to stay in contact, and visited a couple. We also hope to vacation together again in the future. We would have missed out on so much if we had not taken part in the group online.

I share this in the hopes it will encourage those who are "on the fence" as to whether or not they should participate. Please jump in....you won't regret it!

Dadster, I like that expression.
It was stormy here today as well. We seem to be getting the late afternoon storms again. No plans for tomorrow.Maybe I can catch up on all the movies I have not seen yet:thumbsup2

We're getting some rain right now. :woohoo:

:
iam very :sad1: today, our sheltie ~ kelly green shamrock- passed
on this morning. he was 17 & 1/2 years old...& the last of our pets
that grew up with the boys...he'll be missed. * yesterday, i took out
in the yard...though he wasn't feeling to good,i wanted him to feel
& smell the green grass one last time..i was surprised how that "perked"
him up. that :dog: ! but it was is time to go. so i feel sorry
for me..not him. [ my guess, he chasing cats].:goofy:

here's some interesting facts....he loved taking his pic.. anytime we
pulled out the camera..he came running. we lost several times...
twice over a week..some old lady was spoiling him..after we moved
in...then the other time came walking down a country road...in
the rain..i holler @ him..& he took off ..in the other direction....what
a dog!!!

So sorry to hear this...:sad1:

I had shared with you all a few months ago the health problems our dear Sheltie, Beau, was having....Sadly, he too passed away just days before school was out. He had a grapefruit sized tumor that was blocking his bladder and bowels, causing a "backup" that poisoned his system. We all took it very hard, and still miss him terribly. Those little Shelties are such wonderful doggies.

I know that this is a sad and "empty" day for your family, LG. Again, I'm so sorry.

Sorry went to see fireworks (that we thought got cancelled but they were simply postponed for an hour but we left so we missed them) so I didn't get a chance to respond earlier regarding the website. IMO & well of course you know I do have one ;) is that perhaps having last names, hometowns or email addresses might not be a good idea at this point simply because we are not sure who is an active member & who isn't. I would like everyone to join in & post, but I also don't want to exclude anyone that isn't able to at this time.

And please let me clarify what I meant by my remark earlier of being leery of names I am not familiar with....I meant when they pop into complain or suddenly appear in chat without having introduced themselves first, and that is mainly because of past problems we have had. I welcome any newcomers that drop in to say hi and let us know they are joining us. Also I just would like to point out that there is one poster who did join us & was quite friendly at first but now has apparently bowed out since their signature blatantly states they want nothing to do with us, yet this person was still listed on our website today. :confused3 Not saying that is the fault of anyone, just saying that it makes me leery if this particular person was still able to access all our info. So that's MHO for what little it's worth! :goodvibes

Wow, I must really be naive, I have missed all of this behind the scenes stuff! I know sometimes I feel "unworthy" of posting, so I just "lurk." I am not clever like some, or wise like others; I'm not one of the cool kids, and I figure most of you have more exciting lives than me so I don't have much to talk about! But I do try to check in at least twice a day (my boys call this my cult) and I post a quick note about those cute pics and hard times and good times. I even tried a Friday night chat once (even with my terrible typing skills!). But now I feel funny, as if I am not doing enough to be a part of the group.

I don't think you should feel funny at all. I know that no one was directing any comment about lurking at you! Please don't be so hard on yourself, either. You are certainly "worthy" of posting! We are glad you're here!

OK... I'm taking the plunge...you've convinced me that this is a good thing & will make our trip even better than it's going to be. I admit i've been checking in whenever I get a chance... You all sound like you're a fun group & I look forward to actually meeting you on the cruise. This is my son's and my TOAL! :cool1: We've been trying to go on a cruise for a couple of years & finally we're able to make it! Never been on a cruise... but have been to WDW many, many times & DL a couple of times. You could say we're Disney geeks.... but that's a good thing. I'll check in again soon!
Thanks for making me get off my keyboard & jump!:goodvibes

Maybe one of the Tom's can come along and calculate the exact number of posts per day required to crossover from 'lurker' to 'poster'? :confused3

I'm on holiday so no math for me tonight except to calculate how much scotch to put in my glass.

Thanks, that was nice of you! I know the "lurking" was not directed at me, but it sure got me feeling weird about this board.

BTW, I love you graphics! We used to have neighbors who were big Ohio State fans. They finally moved back to Ohio after both of their daughters went to college there!

Welcome, Penny. 99.999% of the people here are very nice and wonderful to be around.

Tom31b and I are the other 0.001%. (Did I do the math right, Tom? Like I said, no math for me tonight -- I am on holiday. Although I do have to do a conference call tomorrow morning with my boss (a British ex-pat) and two colleagues in the UK. I am thinking of opening the call with a recitation of the Declaration of Independence, just to remind them who won.)

Hey J.R. great site:jumping1: , Cheryl actually let me on our computer:woohoo: to look at it. This is mousehouseman in case you didn't figure that out by now:confused3 You say whatever you want about us as long as Cheryl approves.:thumbsup2

Now we should talk about something else like going to have teeth extracted, or root canal.

If I knew that you were having Johnny over or Jim, I could have come over with my friend Jack (not Captain Jack) too.:drinking1

Oh my gosh...I hope I didn't make you feel that way! I hope you understand that I was talking about certain trouble makers that caused problems a while back. I specifically stated that I don't want to leave people out that don't have time to post all the time. NOBODY should feel unworthy to post...unless they are bad mouthing us. I certainly don't lead an exciting life! I spend a lot of time at home with not a lot going on, which is why I don't mention how I threw in a load of wash, did the food shopping, & washed the dishes today. Actually most of my days go like that. Anyway, I like to post cakes for birthdays and sometimes I respond to other's threads like you do. Sometimes I go into chat & I am ROFLOL but I don't have anything clever to say. That's okay...I have fun anyway & I pipe in with an LOL here & there. That's about all I do to be a part of this group & sometimes I feel like I am more than other times, but their attempts to get rid of me have not been successful thus far! J/K!!! Truly I am sorry if I made anyone feel unwelcome which is why I clarified my remark from earlier. We are all different & it's what makes the world so special & I believe this group as well! :grouphug:

Welcome welcome welcome! Disney geeks? Gee I think you might fit in here just fine! :goodvibes

We really are a fun bunch, even if it doesn't seem like it tonight. Like any family...we have our little misunderstandings but we also seem to work them out!

Some night when I don't have to pick DD up at school, we'll go find a place where we can have a good conversation with Johnny, Jack and Jim. I probably drove right near your place today, but I had DD, and well, I don't think they approve of 5-year-old princesses in bars.

Glad to see Cheryl let you get a word in edgewise.

A quote I saw a few days ago: "My wife and I used to have words all the time. I just never got to use mine."

No, no, not you!!! Just the whole lurker/post count thingy. I WISH I could post those cakes, but I can't even figure out how to do the smilies! So I just stick to the simple replys.

I love it:thumbsup2 Okay I'm going to bed. If you have nothing to do tomorrow, you are welcome to come to my daughters in Bartlett.

Have a goodnite.:cloud9:

Phew good! I am the middle child after all, so always wanting to keep the peace & not hurt anyone's feelings!

If you want to post a smiley just click on any of the smilies on the box to the right of the message box & they will appear. pirate:

As far as posting images...well Crash taught me so you'll have to refer to his expertise when he gets back from his trip!
