Don't feel bad, my mom wished that my sister had three girls just like her, guess what, it came true, my sister had three girls and they gave her just as much, if not more trouble, then my sister did to my mom..............:lmao:

Of course, my mom always called me her "PERFECT" child............

PLEASE tell me you weren't the oldest! My oldest brother was/is the perfect child also.
:sad2:

ITA with your final two as well. :thumbsup2 Both Blake & Lakisha were terrible last week so it could have been either one of them. Lakisha has been bad 3 out of the past 4 weeks though while this was Blake's first bad week in the past 4 so that is probably where the result came from.

Survivor was also great to watch!!!! GO YOUMAN!!!!!! Now he can get the second idol to use next week too!!!! They will think that he is a target without the idol. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Can't wait to see what happened after tribal counsel!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Dreams is SCUM!!!

This Survivor seems to have had a lot more interesting twists than any before it.
I read a "spoiler" a long time ago, telling who won...and I had hoped it wasn't true, but it sure looks like it was.

Nope, my sister is the oldest, and only girl of us 5 kids, but I am the oldest boy in the family......;)

I think I might be starting to practice for retirement, this is the second day in a row I slept in until nearly 7am..................:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Well....

.... I slept in until 11:15 this morning! At that rate... you gotta figure - why bother getting up at all?

Andy... if I got up at 7AM it would be because one of the kids WOKE me up or there would have to have been a major California earthquake just then! Of course... in recent days I've been a total nite owl staying up late to watch those movies which are too scary or intense for the kids to observe. Last nite featured Desperado in HD!

Not that they'd watch it... but I was watching the end of "Kill Bill 2" earlier yesterday on HD Net ... and when the kids came closer I paused the movie. Well... sure enough the older one asks "what's that?"... so I began by explaining that's the Bad Guy "Bill" and that over there is "Black Mamba" who is the Good Lady. Then I unpaused it and the final sword dual began and I paused it again right after Black Mamba poked David Carridine with those pointed fingers. Needless to say but I stopped the whole thing at that point and had to extract myself from the moment. My spouse was not impressed with my allowing the kids to see that portion of the flick.

Here is a scene close to the moment where I stopped the movie...

Crash.... I just wanted to say that (along with ALL of the others here) I can't WAIT to meet you!! Missed meeting you on the last one, that will not happen again!!

I am enjoying a totally guilt-free day of doing absolutely NOTHING!

My Jordan just came in with a nice candle, some candy and a sweet card.

I received this and had to share.............................
Subject: MOTHER'S DAY STORY

So, we had this great 10 year old cat named Jack who just recently died. Jack was a great cat and the kids would carry him around and sit on him and nothing ever bothered him. He used to hang out and nap all day long on his mat in our bathroom.

Well we have 3 kids and at the time of this story they were 4 years old, 3 years old and 1 year old. The middle one is Eli. Eli really loves chapstick. LOVES it. He kept asking to use my chapstick and then losing it. So finally one day I showed him where in the bathroom I keep my chapstick and how he could use it whenever he wanted to but he needed to put it right back in the drawer when he was done .

Last year on Mother's Day, we were having the typical rush around and try to get ready for Church with everyone crying and carrying on. My two boys are fighting over the toy in the cereal box. I am trying to nurse my little one at the same time I am putting on my make-up. Everything is a mess and everyone has long forgotten that this is a wonderful day to honor me and the amazing job that is motherhood.

We finally have the older one and and the baby loaded in the car and I am looking for Eli. I have searched everywhere and I finally rounded the corner to go into the bathroom. And there was Eli. He was applying my chapstick very carefully to Jack's . . . rear end. Eli looked right into my eyes and said "chapped." Now if you have a cat, you know that he is right--their little butts do look pretty chapped. And, frankly, Jack didn't seem to mind.

And the only question to really ask at that point was whether it was the FIRST time Eli had done that to the cat's behind or the hundredth.

And THAT is my favorite Mother's Day moment ever because it reminds us that no matter how hard we try to civilize these glorious little creatures, there will always be that day when you realize they've been using your chapstick on the cat's butt.

<chuckles>

I'll have to be careful with our kids and the all the ointments around here.... plus the million other things to be watchful for with young kids...

Interesting, Crash. In my daughters' school, a student may pick Spanish, French, or Mandarin as a modern language (Latin is required, and classical Greek is an elective in upper school). I have seen a switch from my oldest daughter's class, where French and Spanish dominated, to my youngest's class, where about half are choosing Mandarin. However, for the practical reasons you described, all of my girls are taking Spanish.

I was forced to take Spanish rather than my desired French because DDad said something along the same lines. Though, he wasn't as nice about it, he said Spanish would be more practical due to the increasing number of non-English speakers coming into SoCal. Of course the only time I ever really used it was to (a) help a little boy order his ice cream at Thrifty--I was the ice cream weenie (b) order some cervesas at the bars in Tijuana and (c) realize that we were in a "locals" bar in TJ and that the chicas who were being very friendly with us :teeth: were, uh, "working girls" :scared: And here we thought they were impressed with our manly good looks! :rotfl2: Yeah we were 20something know-it-all college students!

Thanks for the kind words...

... needless to say the same is true of us ~ that we look forward to meeting everyone too!!! ... We feel this trip is gonna be a really fun one (as they all are!). However, more so because we've had a chance to sort of share a little about some of one another here through the thread (wholesale scale). Of course... one thing I can't come to terms with yet (still) is how on Earth we massed over half a million hits and 58,720+ postings in so short a span of time - and so far in advance of the sailing. We still got over 15 FIFTEEN months to go!?!?

The last two sailings we took had something like 18 entities and a couple hundred postings at embarkation for the Carnival sailing ... and a few thousand hits plus a few hundred postings off the last DCL voyage. And now we blow those numbers out in a few minutes or an evening (respectively) here. I'm still in mild amazement at the scale.

Anyways... my point is this thread hints at the unique nature of pleasant and amazing things to come. Not to neglect the idea of having so many similarly aligned souls gathering for a simple good time.

OK... I'm about to step out for an afternoon of doing whatever Mom wants ta do fer Mothers' Day. I think she hinted at wandering about and doing some light shopping and explorin'. "OK... sounds good to me Honey.... yes dear, ... uh huh..." (I know the drill)... ;)

Are you hoping for more than an ugly tie and the big piece of chicken?

A nice Disney Tie, and something less Foul. Maybe a nice Bird.

If you mean "bird" the way I think you do (and knowing you, that's a safe bet), I doubt your wife would be willing to help the kids procure you THAT for father's day . . .

Come on luv!

There's only one way a right proper rouge would give to that meaning! And I'm sure he'd take any of the ones on Page 3 :teeth:

I took 2 years of Spanish and 2 years of German in High School 25+ years ago. However, I don't remember much since I'm not as smart as my spouse. I keep telling my girls that girls are smarter then boys. See how much smarter your Mom is compared to Dad? <chuckles> OK... I don'
t REALKLY say that... but I DO tell the girls that Mommy always got better grades than Daddy in school - which is totally true.

OK... we gotta go now... no more editing or image googling...

Wow ...Glad you asked this ....

POTC COTBP was one story ...a beginning ..a middle and an end ......in DMC there was a continuation of the charcters and a new story , so there was a beginning and just a tad bit of a middle and some things that played off the first movie (cannibal Island) ....Now with POTC AWE we obviously pick up where we left off ...DMC had a lot of loose ends as it were to tie up and in AWE this will happen ..So DMC and AWE are just one story with the two put together will have a beginning a middle and an end ...Or will it ???? Watch the ending to see ....I think there be more Adventures on the Horizon for Ole witty Captain Jack ....

So go get your tickets , this will surely be the best of the three ....

pirate:

I think POTC took a page from The Matrix trilogy. The first Matrix movie was like COTBP...one story with a beginning, middle and an end. Both movies left the door open at the end such that follow-on story lines could be developed. The second movie, Matrix Reloaded wasn't quite an entirely new story but clearly picked up with the charachters' lives from the first movie. And just like DMC, Reloaded had something bad happen to the main character and a surprising twist at the end. The third movie, Matrix Revolutions was released 6 months after the second movie and it resolved the plot lines from the second movie. By all accounts, the first of either movie was spectacular and (most) everyone loved them. But the bar had thus been set and the second movie of each, while still entertaining fell short of the expectations of a lot of people. The final Matrix movie, while still visually spectacular, some felt was a little lacking--a major dramatic conflict is resolved with a fist fight? But, the fact that even the new story elements introcuded along with everything else was all resovled meant Revolutions put a nice tidy bow on the trilogy.

Of course I'm not a film student nor do I play one on TV pirate:

Lisa- ITA

I have been a Survivor fan from the start. I started out really disappointed with this season. I didn't like the have/have not set up. Boy have I done a 180 the past few weeks. Yao Man certainly deserves to win. Will he? Somehow, I think Dreams throws him under the bus. The only consulation is that with Dreams having the truck, he won't win the million. So, go Earl.
