I've started a diet at the request of my doctor. I just had a rice cake for breakfast. It has no taste or appealing properties of any kind. I wonder if I could save money by eating sawdust from my workshop.

Does anybody actually like these rice cakes? Somebody must if they keep selling them.

NO! Not even with flavors added. The saw dust is probably better for you too! popcorn::

Very little nutritive props either.....

How about adding 1 or 2 tbsp of peanut butter?

That will add protein at least.

Or eating with 6 oz of yogurt.

For a better tasting treat eat the peanut butter or yogurt WITHOUT the rice cake!

Another one here, who has never been to IKEA.

Welcome Back (again) Diane. It's sad to say, but it sounds like your mom was just like my step-father, I feel for you, I really do. Take care of yourself and Mike.

Thanks Andy!

Sorry I missed your birthday! I hope it was grand!!!

Useless statistics I calculated while on the conference call from hades....

This thread has been around for 103 days or:
3 months, 13 days
8,899,200 seconds
148,320 minutes
2472 hours
14 weeks (rounded down)

Which means there have been an average of
540.3203883 posts per day
0.006253708 posts per second
0.375222492 posts per minute
22.51334951 posts per hour
3975.214286 posts per week

Extrapolated (sp? - I'm so lost without spell check)

If the pace holds steady till the TOAL, there will be 258,813.466 more posts (the .466 probably by the .88 moose) for a grand total of 314,466.466 posts :cool1:

Not including the post trip communications, picture posting, etc. :thumbsup2

If you take the same time period and look at the "views",

5121.932039 views per day
0.059281621 views per second
3.556897249 views per minute
213.413835 views per hour
37682.78571 views per week

If the pace holds steady till the TOAL, there will be 2,453,405.447 more views(the .447 probably by the .88 moose) for a grand total of 2,980,964.447
posts :cool1:

Not including the post trip communications, picture posting, etc. :thumbsup2

Now if this conference call gets really really bad, I may figure out the declining rate of posts to the midpoint between the thread start date and trip start date then increase from that point at a corresponding rate to see if the numbers change significantly. And if the call gets worse than that, I may see if the windows on the 6th floor open........ and throw the phone out.

Now what can we take from all this?

Clearly Tom has too much time on his hands :lmao:

Of course, these statistics do not take into account the rapid decline in post count in March and April.

The first post was on January 13.
The 7024th post was on February 1, for an average of ~350 posts/day in January.
The 35,869th post was on March 1, for an average of ~1000 posts/day in February
The 50,510th post was on April 1, for an average of ~475 posts/day in March
The latest post today means we've only had an average of ~200 posts/day in April.

If that rate remains steady and does not experience the half-life effect seen so far, there would be roughly 98,000 more posts by the time we cruise.

(I didn't do exact math -- this was back of envelope calculation).

Your DS looks like she is having the time of life! :lmao:

Sorry about your camera. I could never speak so calmly about mine going through that! :sad1:

Reason I don't own an expensive camera. Mine is dropped far too often. Yes, maybe I'd take care of it better if it were expensive, but I am not sure of that.

I got my time calculation from http://www.timeanddate.com/ which also gave the following celebrations for us to look forward to:

Lines that are highlighted are the "next" big events in each category

Note that these calculations do not account for time zone changes, daylight saving time and leap seconds (may be one hour off real difference)

So are we now going to have people racing to collect the "10,000,000 seconds" post instead of the 60,000th??

We also are not considering the drift in the DIS clock, which I am pretty sure is different than since January.

Now what can we take from all this?

Clearly Tom has too much time on his hands :lmao:

As I sit here posting from my office it is clear that some of us have a "serious" problem. :scared:

Wow your office sounds as bad as ours! WE had a meeting this morning about the new Managing for Results initiative. It turned out to be a short meeting going over the same exact thing that was in an email sent out last week. We did meet a new employee in our department who said she was impressed with the good moral in our department! LOL! :rotfl:

But I guess she would be. Her last employer was Ford Motor Co.

We have a new Ikea in Canton. Been once and also been to the one by Potomac Mills in VA.

Problem? What problem? It's only a problem if the boss catches ya!:lmao:

I am Disney obsessed though. My dd and I go out on payday Fridays to eat and I told her we would go to the local mall to eat and check out the Disney store! She just looked at me, she wanted to go to Applebees! Most times we don't buy anything but look around. I was thinking that if I can't go to WDW, least I can go to the Disney Store! :sad2: Now when they get to know my name, than I'll be in trouble.

Of course, if you factor in excitement as we get closer to the TOAL and the spike that the actual room assignments will bring, we should clear 100 grand easy.

I didn't do any math, excel and the net did it all, I just cut/paste (I'm really good at cut/paste)

I sent DS upstairs to take one. I wish that I could but if I do I will be up until 1 am again. OY! It isn't fun to go on 4-5 hours of sleep. I hope that he sleeps better tonight. Now to figure out what is for dinner.
