"This just in to newschannel DIS: Locusts reported in Colorado."

Bite your tongue! It was bad enough they were instructing folks to move the livestock to a safe spot! Ranchers lost several hundred head of cattle caught out in the fields during the last big storms. They tried to airlift a bunch of food to them because the cows couldn't move in the deep snow and therefore, they couldn't get to the gras right at their own feet so many perished :sad1:

Oddly enough it's about 55 degrees, sunny, clear skies. The sn*w is gone off the streets here in the central/southern areas. By tomorrow it should be gone everywhere...

I thought Norfolk was behind the times but that's ridiculous !!!

David

You can tell the time up there then? Didnt know that!!!!!!!!! (joke)

Just had my computer kick me off this thread for a while, I was able to keep posting on the Med thread but couldnt get on.

Maybe its the Germans unhappy with my comment to balance it I must say.

How do you find a good resturant in Spain or Greece, with high standards and good service when you are on holiday.

Answer, go to one where the Germans are eating, they will only go to the best.

Remember it is not a requirement that we leave our kids an inheritance:rolleyes1
I must repeat that to myself as I am leaving for the PCEB cruise.:rotfl2:

Gosh, that is a shame! Our Target CS is great! The manager knows me and a couple other ladies who bargain hunt. Whenever he sees us roaming the store he says hello and thanks us for clearing out the unmarked markdowns. :goodvibes He donated a GC to the school's auction baskets too. :thumbsup2

I think he should just hold all the markdowns til you see if you want them first!!!:lmao: :lmao: I got some great goodies after Easter for 75% and 90% off!!!!:woohoo: I am just as addicted to bargains as I am the Mouse!!! My addiction to the mouse is more expensive!!! How is DS doing????

Just checking in to say Hi everyone. Been crazy busy this week but I am trying to keep up reading. Hope everyone had a good day today. It was beautiful here.
I had issues logging in today.:rolleyes1 I thought I would have to get a new identity too!!!

I've started a diet at the request of my doctor. I just had a rice cake for breakfast. It has no taste or appealing properties of any kind. I wonder if I could save money by eating sawdust from my workshop.

Does anybody actually like these rice cakes? Somebody must if they keep selling them.

JR have you tried the carmel corn flavored ones ??? They are the best!!!:thumbsup2

The bad thing is , Toby is in chicago and I am in Vegas ...

but thanks for the heads up

pirate:

If your partner in crime (movie making) lives in Chicago, should I be scared???:scared1:

Problem? What problem? It's only a problem if the boss catches ya!:lmao:

I am Disney obsessed though. My dd and I go out on payday Fridays to eat and I told her we would go to the local mall to eat and check out the Disney store! She just looked at me, she wanted to go to Applebees! Most times we don't buy anything but look around. I was thinking that if I can't go to WDW, least I can go to the Disney Store! :sad2: Now when they get to know my name, than I'll be in trouble.

That is how I got my job there.:thumbsup2 I was waiting in line for Roy to sign my book when the cast members handed me an application form. Since I was always there, I might as well get paid for it!!!

If it's any consolation, Disney Stores in the UK are still owned by Disney but apart from Christmas time, they're nothing special any more.:sad2:

David

No I totally agree!!!:thumbsup2 Say hi to Helen!!!

I find the odd thing but yes I agree, aimed at the 3-5 age group

I loved when the stores carried lots of home decorating and clothes for the adults. Now it is one big toy store here.:sad1:

Diane,

My prayers are with you and your family. Here is a:grouphug: just because. You know if you need anyone to talk to we are here for you anytime. Here is another:grouphug:

Karen

Thank you so much Karen! It's nice to be back among friends! :grouphug:

Thank you for posting this on the July 28th Medthread, sorry you are not with us, have to wait to 2008 to meet.

All the best.

That's funny! Not that I'm laughing at LG, but he really appears to have many of us pegged! :rotfl2:

Do you understand my posts in English then? Corr your clever!

If I post in Germany I would have to reserve everything first!

Heaven is a place where the chefs are French, the police are British, the soldiers are German, the lovers Italian and it is all organized by the Swiss.

Hell is a place where the chefs are British, the police are German, the soldiers are French, the lovers Swiss and it is all organized by the Italians.

I haven't found much at the Disney Store worth buying in years (since they sold them off to Children's Place, really). I wish they'd make them more like the park stores with more unique stuff and not pretty much the same clothes I can find at Target.

I agree with you. I wish the Disney Store was like a mini World of Disney Store. I used to be able to go in all the time. The CM new my name and would always ask when I was going to WDW. When they changed hands I really haven't bought anything. I buy on line from DisneyShopping but it isn't the same.

Answer, go to one where the Germans are eating, they will only go to the best.

The European Commission has announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the EU, rather than German, which was the other contender.

Her Majesty's Government conceded that English spelling had room for improvement and has therefore accepted a five-year phasing in of "Euro-English".

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make sivil servants jump for joy.

The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of the "k", Which should klear up some konfusion and keyboards kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year, when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f", making words like "fotograf" 20% shorter.

In the third year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.

Also, al wil agre that the horible mes of the silent "e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.

By the fourth yer, peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v".

During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou" and after zis fifz yer, ve vil hav a reli sensibl riten styl. Zer vil be no mor trubls or difikultis and everivun vil find it ezi to understand ech ozer.

Of course, these statistics do not take into account the rapid decline in post count in March and April.

The first post was on January 13.
The 7024th post was on February 1, for an average of ~350 posts/day in January.
The 35,869th post was on March 1, for an average of ~1000 posts/day in February
The 50,510th post was on April 1, for an average of ~475 posts/day in March
The latest post today means we've only had an average of ~200 posts/day in April.

If that rate remains steady and does not experience the half-life effect seen so far, there would be roughly 98,000 more posts by the time we cruise.

(I didn't do exact math -- this was back of envelope calculation).

Our store is small. Before The Childrens Place bought them ours was going down hill. Getting junky. Last summer they had the Mickey Hawaian shirts for the whole family that were reasonably priced. We were at the swanky mall in Troy MI a month ago and at that store they had really cool antenna toppers. I got the one that is the skull with the bandana with the beads like Capt Jack. I don't see them that often at ours. It is true the stores are geared more toward Pre-school level, but when I go in they are playing Disney DVDs and at least it's a fix! Of course now dd always wantes it on radio Disney when we are in the car too!

Oh, no doubt. (My math showed that even without any spikes in the post rate). I am surprised the post totals have dropped off so dramatically in March and April -- I knew Feb. was an abberation from the excitement of booking, but with summer coming, will the totals drop even more? I don't even need ketchup any more -- there aren't enough posts a day.

However, we will need to observe the posting patterns of the North American LA-TPC-PC DISer to see if the Feburary post rate was the anomoly or was the March/April decline due to other factors such as the late occurrence of sn*w which may have lead to some SADDD (Seasonal Affective DISposting Decline Disease) or perhaps the increase in the LA-TPC-PC DISer migratory patterns with the annual spring slight to Orlando may have caused a change in posting. It may even be that the LA-TPC-PC DISers have been medically prohibited from DISposting due to DISbutt, DISneck, etc.

:lmao:

Don't forget that we will have to factor in the waving of hands/fans at sail away party and the presence or absence of fireboats squirting water.

Too Much Math here today!! My brain hurts just from looking at all of these numbers.

Now Tom, why would you waste a boring conference call doing math? Don't you know mind-numbingly dull conference calls are the perfect time for a mani and a pedi?

:lmao:

Excellent points. Also have to consider if we lose our jobs due to posting on DIS instead of working, will that mean more time for us to post, thereby artificially increasing the post rate.

Don't forget that we will have to factor in the waving of hands/fans at sail away party and the presence or absence of fireboats squirting water.

yes, but like any good college-level physics problem, we can assume the weight of the DISers is neglible.

The proof is left as an exercise for the reader.
