Hi Everyone! Just got back from Florida last night. Thanks so much for all the good wishes. I haven't caught up by any means, but I read some of the responses from my post on Saturday & I can't tell you how much I appreciate the words of support! :grouphug:

My mother is hanging on, but the doctors are not sure for how long. It could be days, weeks, months. :confused3 Her lungs & heart are shot so they say she is inoperable. My mother has been on oxygen for a few years now & her quality of life has continually decreased. My saint of a sister lives nearby & helps care for my mother since she has been unable to get around much on her own, but my sister also has to work to pay her bills & she is not with her all the time. My mother has refused to build an in-law onto my sister's home, because she doesn't think it's fair that she might be able to rent it out once she dies and make money off of it. (That just gives you an idea of how my mother thinks.) With this latest health issue, my mother will require much more care, since she can not even sit up at this point without gasping in pain. The hospital said there is nothing else they can do for her & they want to release her in the next day or two, but there is no way she can be on her own.

Anyway, we are hoping to get her into a rehab center which her insurance will pay for, but it is difficult to get a bed right now. Otherwise we will have to pay someone to stay with her until a bed opens up. I wish I could've stayed to help, but I had to come home & care for my kids. Mike took a few days off, while I was down there & he couldn't afford to take off any more. The rest of my brothers & one other sister do not live near my mother & also have to work. A couple did visit, but like me they have responiblilites at home. I am glad I got a chance to pay my respects, but it was very difficult to see her suffer & know there is not much I can do to help. :guilty:

As for DH, he has a follow up appointment today, but otherwise seems to be doing very well. He has already lost a noticeble amount of weight in the last week & I think that is contributing greatly to his overall health. :thumbsup2 Hope everyone else is doing great! :wizard:

It is so nice that you name your scars, it must be great for their morale! You should use easier to pronounce names so the kids can say them easier.:lmao: :lmao:

OK so it is clear that you not only are not a bargain shopper....you also do not follow figure skating? :lmao:

I've started a diet at the request of my doctor. I just had a rice cake for breakfast. It has no taste or appealing properties of any kind. I wonder if I could save money by eating sawdust from my workshop.

Does anybody actually like these rice cakes? Somebody must if they keep selling them.

DS use to eat the apple ones before he knew better. ;) They were safe to give him because they disolved pretty quickly.

I agree. I've never had an issue with the quality of Ikea furniture. The only problem we had is with one of their dressers because the kids kept breaking the slides (from overstuffing the drawers). Our basement is furnished in early Ikea and the tables and shelves are extremely sturdy.

Another advantage is unlike other knock-down furniture (such as Sauder), it is easy to disassemble Ikea furniture to move it. We had two Sauder pieces ruined when we moved to Illinois because the movers didn't handle them right and the stupid connectors Sauder used broke through the particle board. But we took the Ikea shelves and tables apart when we moved and they came through with no issues.

I love Ikea! I was so excited when one opened in Mass last year. I haven't bought much of anything yet, but I'm hoping to buy some of the wardrobes when we move into our new house. I want a LOT of storage! I have this vision of becoming organized someday! :thumbsup2

OK so it is clear that you not only are not a bargain shopper....you also do not follow figure skating? :lmao:

First, I am quite the bargain shopper, but I am acronym challenged.

Second, even if I did follow figure skating, do you really think I would admit it? :lmao:

I think we need to accept the concept that most on this board are not math wizards! If they were, first we would be actually adding up the cost of the TOAL and really be in a panic. Second, the amount of time spend on DIS related matters would also go into the equation. Third, I don't know what third is, too high a number.....:rotfl:

When I was in college and then first working as an Electronic Engineer I was REALLY good at math. I have not worked in that field in over 25 years so I have lost most of that skill. Now if I can't use a calculator or a spreadsheet then I am lost! :guilty:

Maybe that is why I relate so much to the three conditions Tom posted! ;)

Another one here, who has never been to IKEA.

Welcome Back (again) Diane. It's sad to say, but it sounds like your mom was just like my step-father, I feel for you, I really do. Take care of yourself and Mike.

Well, I am man enough to admit to watching figure skating with my wife. Although, I watch it to see the falls.

Remember it is not a requirement that we leave our kids an inheritance:rolleyes1

My DS has a great job making really good money as does his DW. They don't need an inheritance from us and they know we are spending it all on Disney!

I did call him after we bought into the DVC and told him him we just bought his inheritance! :rotfl: They get the DVC and our huge collection of Disney stuff plus a "gozillion" photos that we've taken at WDW.

Useless statistics I calculated while on the conference call from hades....

This thread has been around for 103 days or:
3 months, 13 days
8,899,200 seconds
148,320 minutes
2472 hours
14 weeks (rounded down)

Which means there have been an average of
540.3203883 posts per day
0.006253708 posts per second
0.375222492 posts per minute
22.51334951 posts per hour
3975.214286 posts per week

Extrapolated (sp? - I'm so lost without spell check)

If the pace holds steady till the TOAL, there will be 258,813.466 more posts (the .466 probably by the .88 moose) for a grand total of 314,466.466 posts :cool1:

Not including the post trip communications, picture posting, etc. :thumbsup2

If you take the same time period and look at the "views",

5121.932039 views per day
0.059281621 views per second
3.556897249 views per minute
213.413835 views per hour
37682.78571 views per week

If the pace holds steady till the TOAL, there will be 2,453,405.447 more views(the .447 probably by the .88 moose) for a grand total of 2,980,964.447
posts :cool1:

Not including the post trip communications, picture posting, etc. :thumbsup2

Now if this conference call gets really really bad, I may figure out the declining rate of posts to the midpoint between the thread start date and trip start date then increase from that point at a corresponding rate to see if the numbers change significantly. And if the call gets worse than that, I may see if the windows on the 6th floor open........ and throw the phone out.

Now what can we take from all this?

Clearly Tom has too much time on his hands :lmao:

As David Frost would say...

HELLO, GOOD EVENING, AND WELCOME.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY for

Wednesday 4/18......

Hey kids!

Back from Mecca! Hope all is well.

I am now paying the price of going on vacation. No, not the Mickey Visa damages. WORK!

Anyway, glad to see that Spring has finally come to NJ.

Ketchup later tonight.
