I kid you not - my kids schools has lockdown procedures for when there is a moose ...... on the playground.

I have to slow down when I read these posts. At first I thought you said .... mouse!

Unfortunately its the 24/7 media world we live in. Do you really think the President would have been there if it wasn't a convenient photo op? All the "experts" get time on TV, all the politicos line up to give condolences or roll out the little too late plan that really couldn't have prevented it from happening. Stepping off the soap box also....

I felt that it was great that the President took the time to speak to the student body the day after this tragedy and meet with the family members who had gathered in Blacksburg to mourn and support each other. If he hadn't gone, he would have been criticized like Katrina. It also touched me that both the House and Senate stopped and had a moment of silence Monday afternoon to pray for the victims.

We do that with houses. I can narrow everything down to a 2-3 year time frame if I can remember where we were living when it happened.

I did this yesterday, DH asked me when Columbine was. I said "'99 we were in the little pink Florida house."

I can do the same thing...though we have lived in the same house since 11/95. Columbine was when DS was a baby. I sat on the couch holding him for hours watching the coverage. 9/11 was when DS started 3 year PS at 2 yo and DD went for her 1 year check up. I sat on the couch with her the rest of the morning watching the towers fall and the aftermath.

I kinda thought the president was there b/c that was the right thing to do.

Bush wouldn't know the right thing to do if it bit him in the add...

He was just there to distract people from all those ideas to impeach him like they've been talking about the past couple weeks....

I mean does he get on TV every time 30 or more of our soldiers die each week? No, he doesn't..... He couldn't give a rats add as long as his oil is safe.

This is the same jerk that made his security detail drive him out to Camp David in the middle of an ice/snow storm because He just had to get out of DC because the war protest was scheduled for the next day.

(and one of the SUV's in that detail crashed into the guardrail along Route 270.) How selfish of him.
