UGH!!!! After a week of being in the 80s the weekend will be in the 50s. :( I guess that we will have to wear our winter coats with the easter dresses Sunday.

I'm thinking bag the dresses and wear pants....

Our low is 26 that day and mid 40's for the high...

i wore my winter coat today to work and we had snow flurries this morning..

Good Thursday Morning Everyone:surfweb:

:bday: ALEX & RICHARD

I was going thru WDW withdrawel yesterday so I went ahead and booked 4 visits for May, October, November and January(which includes a 4 day Disney Wonder cruise). Do you think I went overboard?(no pun intended!) Oh well I need to see Mickey!

Talk to you later!

Karen

Naaaaaaa......... Let's see, for 2007, I went to WDW in early Feb after a business trip. I'm going to two weeks and taking Mom. I have a trip planned for NOV with my nephew. I am right now looking at the calendar and DVC points to see if I can take a solo trip in late Sept/early Oct for F&W. Hmmmm...can I fit a 3-night cruise in there? I hear CC calling my name.

Hello, my name is Kathy and I have OCDis........

After seeing what happened to my appendix scar :scared1: I can only imagine what would happen to a tat there!

What about the ones on the small of the back? Only problem is I don't recall seeing anyone over age 45 with one... Then again, there's got to be some hip 65 year old granny out in Miami with one (and a navel piercing :scared:)

If you haven't thought about it already, send Lisa a PM. She should have his last name from the "Send Lisa everything you know about yourself and a DNA sample" exercise we had a few months ago.

"Yes, we are here as a guest of Mr. Rugby"
"I don't see that name on my list, what is the first name"
"Darth"

Hey M--Luckily, Pete had called someone last evening and his # showed up on their caller ID.

If that didn't work, I told everyone to ask for "darthrugby" or "Peter, who was staying in one of the Grand Villas" since I didn't know what else to go on........:lmao: I just hope security lets all us crazy DIS'ers through the gate.

Good Morning all! Hope everyone is doing well. It's a balmy 36* here! NOT! I am really not liking this weather. Lucky if we hit the 40's for Easter. Taking tomorrow off, we only work a 1/2 day anyways.

Have some ketchuping to do. Yesterday our proxy server went down. I kept getting an error message that said, "Institutional policy prohibits viewing this page!" I thought ah oh big brothr knows!

Then we got home last night and after dinner, I laid down and that was it for the rest of the night!

Happy birthday to those having them :cake: , enjoy the warm weather to those in warm places:beach: and to those of us in colder regions hang in there!

DD has been saying her finger still hurts....DS slammed the door on it yesterday afternoon. :( It made a dent on each side but she could squeeze my finger with it...so I figured just bruises for a few days. This morning when I looked at it, the bottom of her finger is very swollen...not discolored with bruising or anything but definitely swollen. :(

It sounds like it is either broken or sprained. Can she bend it ok?

Even if it is broken they would either splint it (which can be done at home) or you can use sports tape to tape it to the next finger....

***This advice should not be substituted for a professional opinion. However,
since the age of 8 i have broken 4 of my fingers (two in car door, one in heavy wooden entry door) and sprained the rest playing volleyball in HS. Tape was my friend. Each time i had a break they xrayed and did the splint or tape thing. After the first 2 breaks, i knew what to do on my own.

So DW was wondering what it is y'all do for a living that you have so much free time to not just OCP Disney trips (not to mention talk about them on the DIS all day long) but also go on multiple WDW/DL/DCL trips in a year? With our friends across the sea (Andrew to name a few) it's easy because our American 2-3 weeks of holiday per year is considered barbaric over there! When we were on a trip to St. Lucia and Jamaica we ran into a Brit family that had been in St. Lucia for 3 weeks and were off to Turks & Caicos for another 3 weeks!

PS a stone in weight is 16 pound,s.

Couldn't be something simple like 15, huh? 16 lbs is a good sized rock. Say... That's the same pounds that we use here right? 1.5 kg?

I must admit that out of all the parks AK is my least favorite. I have gone there to go on EE and the safari. Sometimes I skip this park altogether and spend more time at the others.

Funny. That's our favorite park. We never miss it. I think it's the feel of the place, not the rides. Just goes to show - it takes all kinds. :goodvibes

I just received a call from MR asking if I knew Pete's(darthrugby) last name or cell #, to which my reply was, "No I don't!" I did send Pete a PM and gave him my cell # but forgot to ask him what his last name was incase we need it when we get to OKW tomorrow evening. If anyone knows any of this information can you "PLEASE" send me a PM, thanks so much!!!

You mean asking for Darthrugby won't work? But, but, he's like FAMOUS! :rotfl2:
(Glad to see you got the information you were looking for.)

OK I'll admit it. I'm a horrible person. I'm sorry DS got hurt, but as the mother of sons I just had to laugh at your decription. :lmao:
I have soooo been there.

I know. I'm still scratching my head over it.

When I asked about it this morning he said his head still hurt (bruised), and next to his eye, if he poked at it (don't poke at it!), but his back was better (it stopped hurting almost right way last night) and his knees "are strong".

Oh man. I missed the DNA sample. You think that means we won't be granted entre to the invisible website?? Where are those swabs....

I've been working for our local government for 28 years now and I get 5 weeks vacation, plus 3 personal days, add in 13 paid holidays, that gives me roughly 8 weeks off each year. I try scheduling vacation time around holidays when I can, like I did this trip. With staying at our place here in Florida, this trip is really quite inexpensive for us. ;)

I am just on holiday today re Easter.

Usually I cant post on weekdays until 6pm here. But mine will look to you as if its daytime.

I figure that even if I make it to 80, how bad could my ankles really look???

When I see the young 20-something girls with tatoos on their hip-stomach area I just wonder if they know what they are in for if/when they have babies.

That's not a blimp! It's a sword! A girl at an auto supply store who was checking us out pulled up her shirt and on her back she had a huge Tinkerbelle! Somehow we were talking about Tinkerbell and she said she was her favorite and then she whipped up her shirt and showed us. DD was like cool and I said nice. I was thinking after a couple of kids Tink is going to need a lift! We got to the car and dd says, "Why did she show us her tatoo?" LOL!

Ooo.. I missed these the first time 'round...
1) What was the last thing you read which was longer then 2 paragraphs?
I'm currently re-reading Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire (at work) and Anne of Avonlea (at home). Also I just finished The Devil Wears Prada over last weekend.

2) Do you have any favorite catagories of reading
"Children's" Literature, Science Fiction, Fantasy

3) What did you bring to read on your last trip? C'mon - fess up - name it all if ya dare!
Our last trip was WDW in February, and I honestly don't recall what I brought. I do know that I only had time to read on the plane trip over.

4) Any word games you like to engage in? What are they?
Do you mean random puns inserted into conversation, or something like Dictionary (a game where you choose a word that no-one knows and try to convince the other team that you definition is the correct one)?

5) DO YOU REMEMER what sort of GRADES you got in your english or literary classes? What were the classes and your grades??? What-ever you can recall
Mostly A's & B's. I do recall my very first English class in college getting a C on my first paper and being devistated. My senior thesis in History was over 50 pages, and we routinely had to crank out 10 page papers.

6) Who reads more - you or your spouse?
A toss up. We both read a lot.

7) What is the next book (or anything) you plan on reading next... be it tomorrow or tonight? ..... or when-ever....
As noted above, I'm currently re-reading to series books. I imagine that I'll contine until I'm done with both series, and then I'll find something else.

Ok, so I have some time this morning since I am sitting in on a very long, very boring web training session. I am trying to decide do I go back 200+ pages and start trying to read and respond to everything I've missed in three weeks or do I just start from the front and work my way back. Decisions, decisions.

I think I'll try to go back to my last post bookmark and see how far I get, so expect a few groundhogs to come your way.

I thought DCA was supposed to be really great. I wonder why it isn't drawing the crowds as you said, it is right across from DL.
DCA, Really Great... Not words you hear in the same sentence very often. The problem (IMHO) is that most of the visitors to DL/DCA are locals... We can go to the actual places depicted in DCA over a weekend - why do we need fake versions? If the attendance was more like WDW, with a major cross-section of *other* places visiting, the theme might have had a chance. As it is, Disney is still looking at ways to "fix" the place.

That all being said, I like several things about the park (Soarin', the Aladdin show, and the Animation Building), but I'm in the minority. Most people don't find much to do there.

I appreciate the info. On our trip next year I am planning on getting to CA on the 13th. I thought I would need at least one day in each park seeing that it is my first time out there.

Karen

Two days is still about right. Do DL in the early AM one day, DCA in the PM, and then all day at DL the second day. Finish with fireworks.

Yes I like the ones you mention, but they need more, it does need a fix but space is the issue.

A Expedition Everest would do it, to balance the Matterhorn, or a Rock n roll rollercoster.

Hi Chrissie -- I've eaten at both . . . I really love a good steak and was disappointed (twice -- on two different trips) with Yachtman's Steakhouse. The atmosphere was great and so was the service but I just didn't think the steak deserved the price tag (and I'm willing to pay that price, but it had better be good!). Spoodles is fun, but a little more casual in atmosphere and the food is more exotic (the tapas are great). I would recommend Chefs du France, which I love. I've never eaten at Victoria's and Albert's but have never heard a bad review.

My wife and I also had bad steak experience at Yachtman two years ago. It wasn't 'bad' but I'd had much better steaks, cooked better, for a lower price at many places. I'd had steaks at Outback that tasted better.

We love Spoodles and you can't beat V&A for the food or the atmosphere (or the price, unfortunately).
