I'm looking into the flights from here in Orlando to LA. Seems that SNA is closer to DL. However noone seems to fly nonstop.

I was going to ask you about the traffic. My brother lives in Redondo Beach and works at my Uncle's company in Torrence, so he doesn't get over there.

That's the 5 that goes from Carlsbad to Anaheim, correct? Is it pretty bad on a Friday night?

We are also going to do SNA instead of LAX. How is that airport?

SNA to Anaheim is 12 miles. But the freeways during the commuting hours can be nightmareish. And Carlsbad to Anaheim on a friday nite can be hellish = I would not know though if it matters which DIRECTION you're traveling... only that I always see huge congestion along that ocrridor on the weekends - ALL THE TIME for the most part (when I travel).

Be wary of traffic - plan with a little conservative caution...

My 8yr old DGS had a sore throat last week and against my opinion, they took him to the Motorcycle races in DAytona last weekand the sore throat turned into a rash which eventually was diagnosed as strep and scarlet fever. Actually this is the 2nd time he had and now DD is battling an eye infection.

Yup, but they all burn the candle at both ends. He asked if he could go swimming today! I guess you figure out what I said.

We're still waiting for our community clubhouse pool to heat up before we start swimming much.

If my kids were having some greater then normal illnesses I would force them to tone it down a little... substitute alternative diversions for a while... :confused3

That's my $0.02

Just check with Orbitz or what ever other pricing engine you like. I would just take which ever airport is cheaper and faster. With a slight preference for SNA due to the proximity.

When were you going again? And don't forget to check what car rentals will cost. SNA is usually a nicer airport and area to hang around in compared to LAX.

We use to go out every year for about 8 years. Dw has a good friend that moved out there.

We stayed at the TI for several of those years.

The first time we went, we stayed at the Luxor. They didn't have the tower rooms back then, just the pyramid. We got 28th floor - highest floor looking in. Conceirge (sp?) level. We drove up from SD that morning and when we checked in I asked if she could upgrade us for free.

Now DS7 wants to stay there because it is the Pyramid. Guess we'll be up there. How much better are the Tower rooms?

Oh I forgot, I've also stayed preDW days at Excalibur, Maxim (now the Westin) and some dive hotel near the convention center for CES.

I've mentioned before that we got married on NYE with 2 billion of our closest friends in town. That week we were doing the "grand tour" of hotels, moving around every couple of days to sample the hotels and take advantage of the lower rate specials. Anyway, at rehearsal, the pastor gave us a tip about Luxor: The hotel (pyramid) is >15 years old and they haven't refurbed it since it opened. But the towers were only 2-3 years old.

So we switched our room from pyramid to tower. VERY NICE! :thumbsup2 First, you can still ride the inclanators (that's what the elavators in the pyramid are called) because you'll have a Luxor key to show the guard. For those that don't know, Luxor, Exalibur, Harrah's (after 10pm) and a few other hotels have a guard standing by and you have to show a room key in order to get into the elevator bay. Actually, Harrah's is slick because the guard is only there at night but uses a key reader to verify that you're still a current guest!

First, the Luxor Towers have their own seperate check-in desk AND valet area. That gives it the feel of a smaller boutique hotel. Plus, if you use the Towers valet, you'll only wait about 3 minutes for your car! That's partly because not everyone knows about that valet area (enter at Reno) and just go to the main hotel valet.

We did ride the inclanator and looked down into the cavernous atrium. We also got to see into a few rooms being cleaned. Yeah, they were worn and kinda crappy by comparison to the Towers rooms. Some would call it "charm" but I prefer a clean, spot/stain-free carpet to a "charming" one :snooty:

The boys do soccer. The little one is great. The best part is he goes out and does his best, helps his teammates and if they don't win he doesn't get upset . The older one used to be the better player and gets so upset when things go wrong. My DGD is superb, but took the season off as she got frustrated with the coaches. I commend her for it.

No driving for me. Last time I drove in NY traffic was in 87 and don't plan on renting a car. Will do some shuttle or whatever.

Crash,

Speaking of Cirq earlier, have you ever done Cirq at WDW? Just wondering how that is. I know they also have children's pricing.

Wow!

That's great insight into the inside track for Luxor... I'll have to keep that in mind the next time we consider staying there! Thanks!

It's a good show. La Nouba. They do Florida discounts every year around Sept.

Never have...

... to omany other things pressing when we're in Orlando. Usually we're just getting into positon for a cruise ... or it's business for me. In and out and that's all if I'm working without my family in tow.

Have you had the pleasure of attending the WDW Circ show?:confused3

She's on Ibuprofen and some other fever controlling medication. No doctor visit = and her fever is spiking again now - so the spouse is managing her needs at the moment. Thanks. She is otherwise in decent spirits given her fever is rising now.

Thank You for asking.

DS had an unexplained fever a few days ago. Really hot, uncomfortable, didn't sleep well and most suspiciously--he wouldn't eat his mandarin oranges. He wasn't faking anything...

We figured it's because he's cutting his last 2 molars at the same time. Gave infant ibuprofen...and he was bouncing off the walls! Then on Sunday while at Target he got this  look on his face and then pooped a brick! :rotfl: I mean WOW! It was so bad we thought we were going to be chased from the store! Next thing you know, he's happy as a lark and demanding food! :goodvibes:

I don't recomend the brick remedy but hopefully she'll be back to normal real soon!

Last time we stayed in LV we actually stayed off the strip (across the freeway and a little south of Mandalay). I think it was a Courtyard. Really nice and quiet hotel. DW and I don't really gamble, so we didn't need the casino right there.
