You went to college in the Intensive Care Unit? :lmao:

ICU - I See You.

Seriously, what university is that?

Hey, since both of you live in CA, have either of you been to Legoland?

We're looking at coming out to the LA area in Oct for a long weekend, hitting DL on Thur, and then CA for their Halloween event on Friday night. Looking at getting Lego in on Friday, but I see they have a Brick-or-Treat on the weekend.

Wondering if it is worth going for the B-o-T or just skip and go on a Friday with hopefully less crowds.

Legoland is recommended - but only if your kids are TALL ENOUGH to ride the rides. We heard it was ideal for the young ones - only no one ever mentioned the silly height restrictions they have. We brought our kids and they were TOO SHORT from some of the silly tame rides. Plus - they close pretty early - so watch that... and get there EARLY if you really wanna go.

Otherwise - it is a fine place to go with the kids - especially if they like legos.

Where you staying in Vegas?

Rio Suites...DParents are (were?) Harrah's Diamond but the hotels are jammed what with conventions, conferences and some silly sports thingy :rotfl: going on in town. So they couldn't get free rooms at Harrah's thus forcing us to "rough it" over at the Rio  Not free but discounted suites.

DW and I have stayed at Manadalay Bay, Luxor (Tower), Paris, Harrah's and the Vegas Hilton. So far Mandalay Bay and Luxor Tower rank up there as our favorite hotels. Next time we'll prolly stay at the Westin Casuarina because I'm Starwood Gold and DS can sleep in the Heavenly Crib :)

DS is 48" right now and I did look at the height requirements and he looks fine.

As for the early close, I see they close at 5 when we're out there. That's actually good because the Cal Adv Halloween starts at 7:30 on Fridays. We'd be able to hit both that day.

Would you stay away from Lego on Saturday or go because it is B-o-T?

Yeah...

we been to Vegas countless times... for fun and business. We are due for a visit there some time soon - nothing planned yet though.

Anyone seen one of the Circ de Solei shows out there? I have yet to catch one of the Vegas shows of C d S.

We use to go out every year for about 8 years. Dw has a good friend that moved out there.

We stayed at the TI for several of those years.

The first time we went, we stayed at the Luxor. They didn't have the tower rooms back then, just the pyramid. We got 28th floor - highest floor looking in. Conceirge (sp?) level. We drove up from SD that morning and when we checked in I asked if she could upgrade us for free.

Now DS7 wants to stay there because it is the Pyramid. Guess we'll be up there. How much better are the Tower rooms?

You should be wary of the traffic between these two parks. On the weekends it can surprise you in a mighty way. While IN the city aroud Anaheim traffic mostly occurs during the evening and morning commute hours.

I might not try to do both in the same day.

And on the height - you would not have a problem - except they might have rides with a maximum height! Check their site for height limits and minimums.

When were you coming out again?

I saw a documentary on the making of KA which is a new one. Very industrial. But looked way cool.
They have the beatles one as well and then there is O which is water based. They did something on tv a few years ago and that looked great as well.

We did Mystere and it was excellent. DS was only 3 at the time, so he didn't go.

When we go back (might be this fall) DW wants to go to another one and take DS with us. He is totally into it when it is on TV.

If you're taking the kids, go to Mystere and go to a matinee. They have lower prices. The other shows don't do that. Not sure if that is still the case.

Crash! how is the little one's fever? Everything OK?

I've stayed in both the tower and pyramid... but not enough to have a comprehensive opinion. I would probably rely on what their reservation agent tells you on the phone contrasted against what you might gleen elsewhere on the web.

Maybe Todd knows something since I believe he's from/living in Vegas. Who knows, eh?

And what do YOU prefer if not for the preferences of your son?

I was going to ask you about the traffic. My brother lives in Redondo Beach and works at my Uncle's company in Torrence, so he doesn't get over there.

That's the 5 that goes from Carlsbad to Anaheim, correct? Is it pretty bad on a Friday night?

We are also going to do SNA instead of LAX. How is that airport?

OMG that is sooooo wrong!!!! :sad2:

UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, IRVINE

anteater.jpg

As the legend goes, the University of California exists by California Constitutional charter. As the State's University (not to be confused with the "lesser" schools in the Cal State system <zing!> ;) ) all UC campus mascots have to be a member of the bear family. That's because of the California grizzly bear in the state flag. Actually, the mascot rule was put into place back in the '60s when UCI came into being...those damned hippies were going to have the mascot be the BANANA SLUG! Anyway, Da Man then made that bear family rule. Undaunted, the hippies struck back with Peter the Anteater! Evidently the anteater is part of the bear family...:confused3 Da Man was beaten at his own game!

Crash! how is the little one's fever? Everything OK?

She's on Ibuprofen and some other fever controlling medication. No doctor visit = and her fever is spiking again now - so the spouse is managing her needs at the moment. Thanks. She is otherwise in decent spirits given her fever is rising now.

Thank You for asking.
