Yeah... I'm getting lazy in my question posing - so I'm continuing the thing with having YOU pose a question for someone else.

I am look forward to Aruba most as I havent been there and have a local guy giving me a private tour.

Let's move to Grand Cayman where we can live in a hut, the weather is warm year round, when it does rain it is above 50, my kids can always find a hotel pool to swim in and I don't have to stress about it closing, my husband can telecommute, and we can just enjoy life. It is waaaayyyyyy to complicated in this every day world. Anyone care to join me? (Ok, yes, I know we would have to depart the island for hurricanes every now and then, but all in all, a good life don't you think?):)

Our world is indeed waaaayyyy too complicated. But for now, I have local commitments that I can't leave. And it's not so bad here other than the complexity and cost.

6) Pose a QUESTION for the NEXT person to respond to this....

Knowing you only can choose ONE answer, which time do you look forward to on a vacation the most? Time with all the family, time with just your spouse, time alone, or time with others you meet on the trip?:

Just being away from the muck and mire of daily life.

From what I gather, the webmasters over there are pretty good and keep the stuff current. We should really pay them more!

Or do they keep it current to stop the flurry of "this needs updating" e-mails...

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

More peanuts then?
(I crack myself up! :rotfl2:)

AHHHH....you SOOOO cheated! I was hoping to really have people choose what is especially different about "being with others".....I know we all love our kids, going on vacation, meeting friends, but few are brave enough to really say "I enjoy that one afternoon I get alone in the spa", or "I would die for a night at Palos with my spouse", or "I want every minute to be with my kids and seeing them enjoy Mickey". :offtopic: :offtopic: :offtopic: :offtopic:

KSDisneydad --- if you see this could you let us know how your wife is doing?

Sorry I wasn't on yesterday...no internet service in the hospital! June's doing fine. She's still in a little pain, but seems to be in good spirits. The doctor said the surgery was "textbook" so that's good. Right now, she's just enjoying peace and quiet for about 30 more minutes until she has to go home.

Happy Birthday JR

Since I spend nearly every waking moment with my children....... I'm looking forward to going to the different *adult* things during the day. Seminars, talks, etc..... On Sea Days dh usually *takes over* kid duty --- 6dd would spend every waking moment in the kid's club if we let her, she's already saying things like *You're going to make me eat dinner with everyone, aren't you?* *I'm not going to the shows. I want to stay in the kid's club.*
But, 10ds spends the majority of his time with dh. Swimming, seeing movies, ordering room service :rotfl2:

Last cruise I ran into *Disers* during daytime grown up time and I hope to this time, also! It was lots of fun sitting with our group. We had a blast at the Ducky WIlliams talk --- Cheryl & John, remember GoofyGuy at that one? :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm so glad to hear everything went well for her.

I will definitely join you - I reallly dislike the cold bleak winter months. I am a summer girl. I keep telling DH to find a job somewhere that it is warm, or warmer then here, all year. I can work from anywhere so he is the problem :lmao:

AGAIN, Steph...this is why I love ya and perhaps now owe you TWO drinks with a couple hours away from the bunchkins. I am so glad to be with the kids and I want to do tons together, but the time I truely cherish is time alone with joel or time alone; I think I've come to appreciate those more deeply because so many things are done as a family or with the kids that it seems "obvious" or "normal" to enjoy those things; but like spending a couple hours scrapbooking with other ladies or having a drink with adults in the even are more rare so they are special in a different kind of way.

OK OK OK...that got WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY to thought provoking....but as a mom I knew most would say "time with family" or "time with the kids"; just wondered if there are a few brave ones of us who really DO appreciate a couple hours alone reading a book or with other ladies doing something for Moms instead of for kids. THANKS FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT! You're awesome:lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

Downrivermama asked "If you had to choose a profession other than what you currently do, what would it be?"...what a great question.....seems so appropriate for a "trip of dreams" and a DCL trip!!!!! Ok.....maybe with turning 40 last week I'm WAAAYYY to deep these days; but isn't it great to still dream about what we'd like to be if we didn't do what we do for a job?????

I'd love to write books.....I hope you all dream about stuff like this still! :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

We haven't had much luck at all. My DS's current coach benches him constantly throughout the game. He was benched 3 times the other night & we only had 2 extra kids. He's not that terrible, but even if he was, isn't this suppose to be about fun, sportsmanship, etc. :confused3

That's not right:confused:
My DS was not a very good player and his coaches made sure he played (left field-not much action, but he got up to bat regularly). DS could have been good, but he wouldn't practice.
He is in Tae Kwon Do now and doing well. He and his sis are working towards their second dan (second degree black belt).
Maybe try a martial art:confused3

1) What's the FIRST thing that comes to mind that you're looking forward to about our cruise?
Grabbing a Bahama Mama & a plate of food, sitting down & say, "Woohoo I'm here!" :woohoo:

2) What is your FAVORITE kind of DESSERT which you hope to get on the cruise?

GRAND MARNIER SOUFFLÉ

3) What are your favorite hobbies (or substitute interests - if any)
Reading, Travel, the DIS boards (boy talk about sounding lame!)

4)Do you have a favorite music - bands - performers - or such?
I like just about anything, but my favs off the top of my head are Elvis, Dean Martin, Josh Groban...

5) Right or left handed? OR.. are we ambidexterous?
Right!

6) Pose a QUESTION for the NEXT person to respond to this....
DO YOU HAVE A BUDGET FOR THE CRUISE OR DOES ANYTHING GOES?

I wouldn't say anything goes, but I will be enjoying some Bahama Mamas, maybe a glass of wine at dinner, but I will have something of my own in the stateroom. As for shutters...I'll be choosy but I will buy. We will keep the souveniers to a minimum, but one thing we don't need is more junk. So my point? This is a TOAL & I will not deprive us, but I will keep that on-board acct. in the back of my mind! ;)

Are you going to the adult clubs after dinner?

TOTALLY AGREE - I really appreciate the alone time or time with just DH and I because it doesn't happen that often. On cruises, if the kids don't want to go to the kids club, DH and I sometimes give each other 1 hour to ourselves, while the other stays with the kids, and go do something we each enjoy. For me it is usually sitting at the adult pool with a good book. We come back refreshed and enjoy the family time even more

Well - I am retired - I retired early in order to help DD care for DGS Matt. But, I AM writing a novel!! And I think all the time about what creative ways I'll spend my time now that my "nanny" duties for Matt are at an end.
Getting older doesn't mean dreams are over!!!!

I'd said on the boards (and do did my DH joel110 long before me) that our girls didn't want to go to the kids club either! We had to request time at Palos for them not to call us just to get our "Adult dinner" in......but I'd like to say that if that happens....let's plan something for the kids to do for a while and work out a schedule to get some "BIG KID" time for us adults! If we can plan all these pirate events and such surely we can find a way to get kids engaged for a few hours with crafts, a scavenger hunt, or activities so parents can go have some time alone to enjoy each other for a while.

Consider not "splitting up" to get an hour alone....consider finding a way for all of us to get a bit of time to ourselves......if that means kids club for some; then great! if that means on a sea day some parents watch the kids swim so others can do something special then lets find a way to do that!....Thanks for the encouragement that there are others!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean that sincerely! There are days I'd pay someone's teen to babysit or watch kids in teh pool just to get a couple hours to myself or my hubby! ya never know....maybe there a couple teens who want to earn a little spending money on the trip, eh?????:stir: :stir: :stir:
