My kids will have a lot of fun leaving gifts for everyone

It is fun giving out the gifts -- and trying not to get caught!

And don't forget the fun they will have checking the FE! I will just warn you that it is probably best to set some rules to avoid conflict regarding FE gifts -- my rule was that everything there was mine until I decided what to do with it -- they weren't allowed to even take anything out of there. I would check and then divvy up the goodies . . . avoided a lot of problems that way!

It would be nice if everyone did not give out the first few days, so that we have things in there over the course of the cruise . . . on my Med cruise last year we made assignments but pirates don't like to be told what to do . . . so I'm not telling, but just reminding everyone that it is fun if it is spread out . . . Of course there are so many of us it is hard to believe that we could have a day with no deliveries.

Jo, I can tell you from my first cruise that you do not want to get into the "first one to get to the FE gets the gift" mentality . . . it's horrible!

I have a few questions....
Can we have a photo section on the pirate board? I've been trying to take notes on some great ideas & suggestions but I know I'm missing answers when I can't keep up on the discussions everyday. I thought maybe a section related to equipment, photo taking and software may be helpful.
I have also been looking at the Olympus water/shock camera for the last few months, so I'm curious to hear feedback on it.

FE's - I have seen most have a seperate pocket for each cabin person, I've been thinking of having ours made with just 1 or 2 pockets instead, to avoid the conflict of "that was in my pocket" blah blah blah Any thoughts or pictures of this idea?

I know it was mentioned that pirates don't like to be told when to gift FE's, but maybe have some sign up for first week & 2nd week? Just a thought...

On our last cruise, somebody made cute name tags in the plastic holders that we wore on the first day at the meet n greet. I kept my nametag and my green mickey head keychain on my backpack, beach bag, or fanny pack and it was fun to strike up a conversation with those who knew what it was, without always having to have it on my shirt. I love the lanyard idea too, but know I won't be wearing a lanyard all the time either.

Thank you for the reminders of events, purchases, calenders, websites and infor....especially with fast links to get there! It really makes navigating here and the other pirate sites easier to jump to and helps stay up to date.

I was thinking of saying that if your last name begins with A-M, try -- but it is not required! -- to give out the first week, N-Z, try -- but not required! -- to give out second week . . .

I have always had a problem with what to do regarding a cut off date, but I think I will just add if more people come on board, and those who planned for 100 can use the list from about now (with cabin numbers added as we get them of course) . . . or randomly not give out a few . . . trying to make this as stress-free as possible . . .

Sounds like you are stuck for this one! You can't very well have just imagined that you might need a hanging door organizer without knowing where you were going, or that so many people would randomly be able to find you! People sometimes just hang a tote bag or something on the fish, but again it would be difficult to explain how you knew to bring FE gifts or that we knew where you were . . .

Where in CO are you? It's cool (mid-50's) in Denver, but no where close to snowing. Will be back to the 80's tomorrow.

Actually I'm in Northern NM (Los Alamos) but the warnings we get on TV cover the southern part of Colorado. So if I remember where the map warnings were they were probably covering the mountain areas around Durango/Silverton areas over to Pagosa. We too will be back to the 80s tomorrow.

Well now you can walk around WDW through Google Earth. I figured out what my problem was earlier, I needed to install an update! Now I can see everything, not just the castle!

SUGGESTION....once you are on the ship and "see all those beautiful FEs" you can hang a tote bag or something and buy some small gifts while at a port so you can feel free to join in on the fun.

I am sure that it will be the second week before I get everything passed out!! LOL! I think I have enough stuff for the first and second week!!! I am usually too busy the first few days to even think about taking hte time to pass out FE gifts!

The reason mine was made with the kids names and my name was because we were ALL active members of the cruise meets thread and in our *groups*. That way if anyone wanted to leave a *note* to one of us they could!

Debi -- we have had gusts today up to 50mph! 10ds said is was great fro ripstiking since everytime he sweated the wind blew so hard it dried up! LOL!

You know you're traveling - how about getting some sort of closet organizer/shoe holder or something. Your paranoia about being able to organize yourself in your hotel room can be written off as a charming quirk. Then you can just happen to hang it on a fish, and just happen to have some sticky velcro or something that you can use to glue on some disney patches/decorations you get onboard?

I am betting on having the cheapest/ugliest Fish extender on board.

My formula:
- One old white T-Shirt (cut horizontally to get a "loop")
- Fabric glue & some needlework to bind the sides and form the pockets
- Two wooden dowels for the top & bottom
- T-Shirt iron-ons for the decorations.

We'll see how it survives
