You don't have to have a special plan unless you plan on making / receiving a lot of calls. Check with your carrier what the cost of the international plan, usually a lesser $ per minute, and compare it to the cost per minute without the plan and decide which will work better for you.

When I was in London last year the international plan didn't work for us because we didn't plan on making a lot of call so we just chose the per minute option. Just make sure you have a phone that will work outside of the U.S. your carrier can tell you that or you can look it up online at their site

I don't have Verizon but with AT&T I did have to let them know so that they could note the information on my account

Hello, Pirates!

Away from home again due to the refinishing smells from the hardwood floors. This severely limits internet time! On top of that, I have another sinus infection, so they are suggesting I go see an ENT. Since I'm having my remaining wisdom teeth out in two weeks, I think I'll wait until next summer to look into that!

These rates apply to any Verizon plan. You must have "International Roaming" activated on your phone before you leave your home area. There is no charge for this activation.

Yes, call Verizon customer service before you leave your home area and ask them to activate "International Roaming". There is no charge for this activation. If your party has multiple cell phones, each line has to be activated in order to make or receive calls/text messages while out of the country.

I have a global GSM phone that I usually use for traveling, but don't have a plan on it.

I'm curious Andy....were the photos taken with the camera set to the underwater setting? I was hoping that the setting would filter out much of the blue and green so I wouldn't have to. But I have Roger's directions saved from last year so if I have to do it myself at least I have instructions.

Yes they were. The underwater settings only effect white balance, flash and focus settings.

ACK!!! I had to do that a couple of yrs ago -- one had casued a molar to crack........ DH told me I looked like *He*** for a couple of days -- when he brought me home and put me to bed...he was like clock work with the pain meds. He'ld wake me up hand me pills and a drink then I was back asleep! LOL! I don't even remember those 2 days! LOL!

Andy, it sounds like our youngest dd. She'll be 7 on the cruise. She is usually yelling at me at some point during dinner that she wants to go back to the club! Half the time she won't go see the shows unless we force her! She hates seeing the villians so, she won't see any show that has a villian.....
