I just ordered my fish extender and got an email asking what I wanted on it, colors, names, etc. Do other people end up putting everyone's name on it? I want our last name at the top but I don't know about first names. Does anyone else worry about that? Thanks!

We put everyone's first name on ours, but we didn't include our last name. I have seen some people put their DIS IDs on top.

Kim

Thanks for the hint. I'll look for Crash! Then we won't all be "strangers" anymore. Reading all the banter on here makes me even more excited for August to hurry up and get here!

Count me in for Shots Around the Ship...if I can figure out what night it is (since I'm on the DL and have no idea what cabin/category/etc. we're in)!

Good night all.

We need to come up with a way to get him to tell you about the honeymoon before the wedding so you can "find" this group and make better plans!

This group is pretty creative..... any ideas?:confused3

:lmao: :lmao: I hate to shop so when I do decide to buy somethng I do it QUICK!

That is my point, just buy it and be done! Just like I did with the $25 underwater digital camera this morning. I mean really, I don't expect very much from a $25 camera, so I can't be disappointed! Besides, it had free shipping! :cool1:

It is kind of like when I saw the space shuttle land. I was looking and looking and after I saw it I got bored. I went back into the motor home and watched the whole thing that was outside my window on TV. :lmao: I feel quite sure everyone will get better pictures than me and I am not going to kill myself to be on the railing all day.

:lmao: :rotfl: That is sooo my oldest dd...who am I kidding... that's all the females in the family! :rotfl2:
Even though for the most part I am the official picture taker in the family.... On PC day I KNOW DH will be taking most of the pictures!!!! LOL!

However, being that the cruises are family vacation, I have never ever been to the bars on a cruise...but I am sure I will learn to love it! I love to just meet new people, chat and have a fun time...I have a few stories to tell, but ummmmm, I heard this is a family board! :)

Me either! In fact I am usually in bed by 10:30 on the ship..... One night, on the 10 nt, I think it was Cheryl that talked me into going to one of the 10:30 performances (the crew talent show). It was fun! I hung out with Cheryl/John and several other Disers!

Well I took care of Fathers Day today. The girls and I were out today looking for a dress for Megan's 5th grade graduation tomorrow (nothing like waiting for the last minute). Anyway when we were looking for DD's dress I noticed they had a new shipment of Tommy Bahama shirts. Bill loves TB so I bought him 5 TB shirts and some dress pants as well.
I kept calling them Bahama Mama's so I am sure the salesperson thinks I am drunk hick. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: :rotfl: I could so see dH & I calling them Bahama Mamas!

We've got some bumpy weather coming for the next few days, according to the weatherman. Not too sure about getting the :moped: out.

Watch out, Debi! I know that we are supposed to have gusts up to 50 mph!!! And I'm sure it is coming across your way & ours!
It was so windy yesterday I had to hold tight to the truck door when I went to get out!!! I was afraid of the wind catching the door!

I'm rarely up much later than that, but I do find the bars earlier :lmao: :lmao:

We put our names on it, just our first names.

Andy

Don't worry, there are a bunch of us in the "shunned" section of the ship because we haven't been to the shows or gone to Palo or ......

I heard that Disney was going to take that section out at the next dry dock :rotfl2:

Andy

I hate shopping and doing this stuff on line just thrills me - I'm such a geek!:lmao:

Dh & I have done most of our shopping online for about 10yrs now.... We did a little before then but, in the last 10yrs I would say 75% of our shopping is done online! :thumbsup2

Yea!:cool1: DH just changed our pictures! I hated the other one! You can see us better now! This was one time I had my sling off (from rotator cuff surgery).:yay:

I love the new pics! The kids are adorable in their matching shirts!!!

We were so broke and so happy! Everyone should spend some time in their life struggling to makes ends meet. You realize how little you actually need to survive!

I agree! My only *thing* is I always want enough money to buy what I want at the grocery store! LOL!

Well thanks! I realized that I don't have a picture posted anywhere, so maybe I'll get away with it and then just say "Hey hon. Look at all these fun people I met here." I'm social. I like to drink. Maybe he'll believe me!

OMGosh! She is one of us!!! :lmao:

Sure nowyou guys want me to make the smoothies... I have to get to bed soon... The other morning however, when I got back from the Drs. with my dad,,, I looked in the fridge and saw the bottle of NY wine.. I said hmmm,, I think I will have a glass a wine. Darn it all it was only 957AM.. My daughter asked me to wait until 12 noon at least. I forgot what time it was>>LOL I was ready for a glass of wine already.:hyper: :hyper:

In our family we have a saying *It's noon somewhere.* ::yes::

OKAY...you want pathetic? ZOOM was my favorite so here is the theme song:

I can top you on the *pathetic* scale.... remember I am about 6 yrs older then you..... we used to use my dad's old Super 8 and film our own version of Zoom.......

Of course the DGkids will behave - I'm sure you must have the "look" or the "tone of voice" - I'll tell you a funny story - I got a call from DGS -Matt's teacher - he was acting up but she didn't want to go to the official detention route - so she phones me and - he's telling the teacher "no - no - don't want to talk to Grandma" - I get on the phone to give him the "stern voice" and he's an angel the rest of the day. I said to DD - either that's good or I'm an ogre scaring the h*** out of my grandson!!! :rotfl2:

That is hilarious!!!!!

What speed film is needed for an underwater camera? We have that cheaper reusable camera that we just need to buy film for.

Film? film? film? What is that? ......for darker places w/little light you want a fast speed of film. I use 1000 whenever I won't be able to use a flash (either because the object is so far away or flash isn't allowed)

DH in Antigua with my brand new out of the box camcorder:
this is what I chose to shoot:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I have to email this to dh!! That is too funny!!!!!

I think his excitement over planning our HM may be getting to him. I think he wants to share but is enjoying the "surprise" aspect of it. But...Last night he said that he may tell me a week before the wedding. I'm going to keep pestering him so maybe he'll tell me earlier to stop the questions. We'll see! There's still two months to go...a lot could happen.... :rolleyes1

Not till after our cruise tho....:rotfl2:

They're going to put in a new area for the 'hassle free' experience. It has padded walls and a reservation simulator which 'duplicates the real life booking process' :rotfl:

ndy

What I need is someway to automate the PS process - doing it by hand gets old after a while.

Fill-in flash: just force the flash on, it'll fill in any backlit/shadows.

Film.......Just go digital pirate:

I did a dive photo class a few years back and a strobe (flash) was a necessety at anything below 15ft.

Andy

Yeah if only cameras actually took pictures that didn't even need PS... I spend a lot of time doing PS in general.

My return trip was changed today for the second time, but luckily the nonstop flight was now about the price of the non-stop I originally had which was no longer available, so I switched! I'll get in 7 hours earlier now ::yes::

Those pictures are what sent me to the store to get a new camera and what also got me to book the snorkeling excursion on CC.

The only thing I would add to this is the optical zoom is ok if you don't reduce the pixels too much. One of my cameras tells me how many pixels the picture will be as I zoom. If I want to enlarge at all, I don't reduce the pixels at all. But if I just want a 4x6, I don't mind using the optical zoom a bit.

Cheryl, I'll be thinking of you and your DD today. I'd give you a call, but you know how that ends up :lmao:

If you do any photo editing, it's better to skip the optical zoom. I always just crop it later.

So would that be better than using a FILM camera and getting the cd with the prints?

Edited to add: I realized that it's only a 0.3 megapixel camera... YIKES! That's what my old cell phone was that I finally replaced to get a better camera on it.

What's the button on the back for?

Cheryl, prayers said!

DH wanted a larger home for several reasons -- we have 5 children, 2 are adults BUT, we hope to someday have grandchildren from all of them ;) And we wanted a house where they could all come home to and the grandkids would always find plenty to do! If we only had a couple of children we wouldn't have bought a house this size. We think it is very odd the BIL & his wife have 2 children and a home the same size as ours...and they're building a larger home....that never even have out of town guests :confused3 (MIL/FIL and ourselves have out of town guests regularly).

:scared1:  :scared1: You have had a horrible time!!!!

My parents about flipped when I was talking about buying my first house at $200k (their first was about $30k!) and I was on my own then, before DH! Our house now is about the same as both sets of parents with only 3 bedrooms... We need to upgrade! And we only have 1 DD!

I added a thread on the boards for posting photo taking and editing tips....

Andy[/QUOTE]

Thanks! :thumbsup2

This is too funny - I was looking at the Photo thread on the main board and came across this one - We have those exact same serving bowls at home - I will never look at the them the same again - they will always remind me of the ship now :woohoo:

I don't put my last name on anything to me that is TOO much personal information! And our FE has our Disnames on it.... StephT5, Pirana, Elvis, Zircon...now our youngest doesn't have a Disname so, I did add her 1st name.

FYI, many people on the cruise do know our last name, I just want to be able to choose who knows it! :thumbsup2

Us too - that is why we went with early dinner

We aren't used to eating dinner much before 7pm our time....And if we had early dinner that would mean the 8pm show.... I couldn't watch one of the shows on a full stomach... I might fall asleep! LOL!

I love it!! Any excuse to think about DCL!!!!

Ok, so wasn't there talk about how wonderful it is to have mature trees in your yard??? Notsomuch yesterday. We have 10-12 HUGE oak trees in our yard. 50-60 footers. Big storm came through and knocked a giant branch down - probably fell 30-40 feet onto our deck and tempered glass patio table that seats 6. Table is shattered, a chunk of deck rail is gone.

We've had so much rain here in the last month that the ground is just completely saturated and trees are falling down. Huge trees are down all over our neighborhood - 2 are blocking streets and took power lines down with them. Our power went out yesterday afternoon and I doubt it will be back up for days.

On DH's way home yesterday, he missed being hit by a falling tree by 2 car lengths. He was right by Mount Vernon, heard a crash and saw nothing but tree in his rear view mirror. Truck 2 spots behind him was completely destroyed. The driver was OK, but get this, only DH and one lady stopped to help. The road was completely blocked and no one bothered to get out of their car to help. I hate this place for that reason...not because trees are falling down.

Oh and get this - they didn't cancel school...so the kids got on the bus, I came in to work & I just got a call that school was cancelled and I have to go pick them up. We work a freeking hour from home! The after-school program is keeping them, but we have to pick them up ASAP because the kids shouldn't be there without power. Huh? So why not cancel school this morning?? I really truly hate our school & district - for many reasons, but that's my reason for ranting today.

Anyway, I'm happy to report that we are all safe - but what a pain. At least we planned to go away this weekend anyway!
